Safi is probably one of the best lore based monsters to be added. He changes EVERYTHING. First let’s talk about his toddler form,Xeno. The main puzzle piece to base worlds story,and as we find out the literal sapphire star himself. This alien creature that somehow made its way or developed on this planet is ending a cycle for some of the most powerful creatures on the planet just for there bioenergy as a snack. Xeno as a BABY was able to manipulate elder dragons....some of the smartest creatures in Monster Hunter with easy. Then when we piece together the tale of 5 where the sapphire star and the creation dragons formed the earth(shara is also mentioned as the dragon that formed the mountains and looked to the sky). And than we supposedly kill this young alien life form only for it to return and be revealed we weren’t able to kill it in its baby form. We move on to Safi now,a completely new looking monster that draws nothing from the original as it’s probably a juvenile at this stage. Implying that Xeno wasn’t even a baby but quite possibly a fetus since usually fetuses look nothing like the end results. This monster as stated by in game characters has the ability to end the world. His supermove has the admiral saying “nothing could survive that attack” since Safi literally shoots a compressed ball of super heated energy,which like his origin and name,even the name of the attack is literally the sapphire star. He has the ability to drain the energy from around him that can instantly regenerate his body and power him enough to destroy anything he pleases. His beams and fire all glow blue and white,those both exceed temperatures of over 2,500/3,000+ degrees. Something no other monster uses other than lunastra and even then she uses a napalm like fire. Even Alatreon,Dire or Fatalis haven’t been seen using energy especially fire in such a way. They all use red fire which is around 1,400 degrees. His size gives hefty power along with his weight and his scales as shown are extremely durable. He brushes off his own supermove,a literal collapse of a star point blank like nothing happened. And for how HUGE he is like his cutscene shows he is extremely fast in the air. This monster based on lore AND gameplay definitely has the power to be a rival to the black dragons. Alatreons Hunt in world makes that statement concrete. Safi is probably one of the most well crafted super powerful monsters because not only does he have lore that fits and makes sense unlike most other black dragons where they just say “oh yeah there powerful btw” and don’t really give solidified statement on why other than Fatalis destroying the castle or Dire Moralis boiling the sea. But he also has gameplay proof showing the power. Safi is taken his spot on one of my favorite monsters in the series for his lore alone. And he’s taken his spot on the monster hunter food chain it seems as well. I really hope to see his return as a fully grown black dragon. Now that’s a threat.

In the end everything will end in a white dragon.

I think this will lead up to great jaggi being introduced. The strongest black dragon of them all.

Theory: The Alatreon we face in the new world is an elder Alatreon which has been undisturbed for years. Given that the Alatreon wants to be isolated, it must have been disturbed due to the frequent crossing of elder dragons into the new world. Since it has been disturbed, it must have wanted to take down what's in the center of attracting all other elder dragons giving the reason fo why it was in the secluded valley.

Something i want to add to the relation between safi jiva and the black dragons. Fatalis is known to be immortal, and any equipment made from it is said to be still pulsing with life. Fatalis' equipment is also said to suck the life out of it's owner. Now, doesn't that sound similar to another weapon/armor set that we have on iceborne.

If we doing theories, then it’s my turn. 1)Alatreon is the catalyst for Safi’jiiva to become a Black Dragon. Safi is already up there, and a Alatreon corpse is all he needs to go to the next level. We’re not done with Safi yet; we don’t have the final upgrade material from him yet(AT Safi possibly) 2)Fatalis is coming. He’s too alluded to at this point. Fatalis probably felt Alatreon die and was probably like “interesting, so the Blazing Black has fallen.” Even if he dgaf about Ala dying, he definitely felt Safi’jiiva. 3)The Fatalis coming is actually a White Fatails. Someone in these comments said it’ll end with a white dragon, and while I doubt it, it sounds VERY interesting. We had Red(Crismon), Black(Regular), and maybe I’m rambling, but it sounds really interesting. You know who else comes in Red, Black, and White? Fatalis.

I like the approach you took for this. It's very interesting to see the Connection between Safi Jiiva, Alatreon and Potentially another Black Dragon.

I think there's going to be a upgraded version of safi jiva after alatreon's death

After you kill Alatreon the handler has a really interesting line of dialoge. She says at some point in te conversation: "you know, i was thinking can monsters and humans live together" And i think that is a hint towards fatalis cus he is basically the symbole of hate between monsters and humans.

My theory is that Safi-Jiva is only a medium stage of a Black Dragon, instead of a return of Fatalis I see more plausible that Safi-Jiva turns a Black Dragon himself (maybe after absorbing the energy of a weakened alatreon?) Becoming something likr Fata-jiva or maybe Fatalis himself. And driving the story to a point where we learned about all the ecology of a black dragon since its birth to its full gorwth

My theory: The thing that the traveler fear is a war just like in the old time. And my guess is that this war will be between 2 godlike entity. The King of all Black Dragon : Fatalis and The New Safire Star : Safi Jivaa Knowing the power gap between Xeno and Safi it’s Safe to assume that if Safi is still not an adult but is still growing then he’s gonna be extremely stronger in his final state. And maybe that’s why Alatreon showed up, either to serve as a catalyst to make Safii worth of the title of new king of black Dragon, or to preemptively eliminate the target before a conflict that would put the whole world at stake.

We could be seeing Safi’jiiva being the final boss to wrap up the 5th gen game in his final black dragon form where he’s at his oldest dangerous grownup age yet

So here's the thing. While these are good theories, I think I have two possible better ones. So far, all of the most powerful elder dragons we know of are destructive. However, Now Safi shows up and changes that formula: It terraforms, it *Creates*. As such I have two theories on the whole Alatreon Safi Jiiva debackle. However, before I go into this, another theory I have must be said: There are Three forms in the Jiiva family, each one being born at a certain notable time. The Xeno Jiiva we fight was born somewhere around the time of the 4th fleet, and called the Elder Crossing we in the 5th fleet follow. The Safi Jiiva we fight was born somewhere around the time of the 2nd Fleet and called the Elder Crossing for the 3rd fleet as a Xeno Jiiva, which, as Safi Jiiva, created the Guiding Lands. And there is most likely an older dragon, lets call it Rabi Jiiva (meaning God of Life or Life God) that shaped even the New World as we know it, which as a Xeno Jiiva, called the Elder Crossing the First Fleet followed. First Theory: Alatreon is there to die on behalf of Safi Jiiva to facilitate it becoming it's full form (Which I called Rabi Jiiva, Most likely a black dragon or an equivalent for creation, a White Dragon? Idk). There it would fulfill the natural cycle that destruction begets life, and life begets destruction. The Second Theory: Alatreon is there to watch over the still maturing Safi Jiiva until it becomes Rabi Jiiva, giving a sort of much closer connection between the higher Elders that makes these Dragons almost seem sentient, which was implied for the Human-Dragon war of old. But let's hear what you think.

I would say Alatreon is unstable by definition. It may have learned how to harness this instability but that doesn't make it less unstable. Same can be said of the Jiiva's. They soak up so much bio energy that if one were to be killed without being drained first they likely would blow up like a bomb. My theory is Jiiva's are the true begining to all elders and each successive generation has its own mutations to adapt to its environment. This is both why Jiiva's are so much grander than most elders. They possess the undiluted potential of their kind. But by this same token they also are the most unstable. I would say Black dragons are the next generation, with them trying to maintain power while becoming more stable. Fatalis being the one with the most obvious success. Then after that we get the other elders. Those who give up the rediculous strength of their forebears in exchange for having a completely stable power.

_"Beware the true fear"?_ I believe there's someone kicking asses out there besides Safi'jiiva and Alatreon. A formula made of: Safi'jiiva, Nergigante, Shara Ishvalda, Fatalis dragons, Mohran, Dalamadur and Zorah Magdaros. *Or it was something else?*

Fatalis will have to make one hell of a comeback to live up to all this ominous hype surrounding Iceborne's future. Also, does anyone think this would have anything to do with the legend of the 5 Dragons? Im starting to think that story was a fantastical cover up for the real story of how the world come to be as it is.

In Monster Hunter Generations/ Generations Ultimate, there was an event in the past where Alatreon was associated with Amatsu. You can find a war tale of a battle between Knights of Alatrea and The Heavenly Gods from looking at the description in the palico armor of both Amatsu and Alatreon together. I recommend looking at Alatreon's palico armor to find his secrets.

I think they are building up new lore for the next games. We'll probably see some more stuff in Iceborne (fingers crossed for Fatalis), but Handler saying "we wont have answers so quick" is, for me, the devs way to say to us they're trying new things, they'll expand this, but dont expect to have a definitive answer yet (maybe never, it's cool to have things kinda blurry so we can theorize ourselves)

Would be pretty cool to see Safi consume Alatreons energy and then metamorphosize into its final form as a true black dragon. That way it would hopefully not be a raid boss and more of a black dragon fight. Except this time he's gonna kick our ass

Based on the story, xeno'jiiva does attract different kinds of elders due to the massive energy he has, tis no wonder 2 of the forbidden elder dragons showed up outta nowhere.

Plot twist, when they were talking about a Red Dragon, they were actually talking about sightings of a Crimson Fatalis.

Some reason the warning makes me think of the atrificial elder dragons. Would be crazy if they brought them into world.

I have 2 theories. 1. The Jivas are the remaining members of a Dragon species that was thought extinct after the war with the Ancient Civilization. Now that they're back they're a direct threat to the Black Dragons' place at the top. Shows why Alatreon went strait to the nest and burned everything, likely including the unhatched eggs/cocoons in the bottom area. 2. The Jivas are an Equal Dragon Weapon leftover. Would explain part of why the Elder Crossing became every year instead of every ten. Safi is either the most recent to hatch or the results of cannibalism since there are several hatched eggs/cocoons in the third area. Given Alatreon went strait to the nest the Jivas are a threat to their existence. The Alatreon intro shows that the remaining skin had to be frozen and then hit with explosive fire likely due to the Jivas being weak to all elements making Alatreon the best opponent out of the Black Dragons. Now that Alatreon is dead and the possibility that Safi pulled a fake out, like Shara, or there being another one hiding there's a new source of power to trigger a new stage of growth. So far the Jivas have gone from White, Xeno, to Red, Safi, the next would be Black if their building up to challenge Fatalis.

I came looking for something like this, it would make so much sense that Jiva has a further evolution where it has perfect control over energy and a vast amount of it. I really hope in Wilds we get to see this

Imagine the fifth fleet goes back to the old world and finds it overrun with monsters or something like that which has been caused by the presence of a Safi'jiiva.

Imagine fatalis goes through black to crimson to white. As a gameplay mechanics. It would be a dragon ball episode.

What if alatreon and safi mated instead of fighting like we all think tho

Safi is referred to as being very intelligent. But if he is so intelligent to lure in a black dragon and know we will kill it so he can scavenge on it then Safi is one of the most ingenious fuckers in this series since Ahtal Kha and lynians. And we already know he has essentially cultivated the guiding lands to harvest it like a freaking farm. The seeker is right, Safi isn’t all that different from us, and that might include intelligence.

Well I have a Theory Myself and im already sorry for my bad grammar buuuuuut lets think about it for a sec. The Savi is all about energy absorbing and Manipulation.His younger form the Xeno was able to guide and manipulate elder dragons such as The Zhora and the Nergigante. He could perhaps somehow guide the Alatreon to the new world to absord hid Bioenergy after the Hunters have slayed him to become something greater! Now lets go a bit backwards in time.From the Fatalis armor we know that his essence stays in the armor and somehow the hunters who wear this armor suddenly disappear someday and then a new Fatalis will arrive.So maybe a Fatalis slayer somehow was able to get to the new world and slowly change. You probably get what I try to say. The Savi is perhaps a younger and unevolved form of the Fatalis and with the energy that has been realised by Alatreon he will soon change to the Dragon King himself Fatalis.

I just like how after Safi'Jiiva is introduced he gets buried immediately by Alatreon and Fatalis. Safi still had more mystery behind it. All the other cocoons lying around bringing the question of was it the only one to hatch and leached all the others to death? Are there others that hatched and live in separate areas in the valley? Is the safi we fight a parent? Also the thing is never exactly described as being killed in battle and is refered to as the same one encountered from the start. Nowhere to be found when Alatreon, a elder dragon that does everything in it's power to be alone shows up to then attack and burn the old cocoons meanwhile a fight was implied as a possibility between the two. Then after we kill that Alatreon another one with basically no health shows up and in game is spoken of as if it were the same one. Did it survive our fight ? Why did safi not go after it? If it was another one, Was it fighting Fatalis and barely escaped with it's life? How does safi respond to Fatalis' return?. As for gameplay things like his armor and weapons. Personally I use the weapons quite a bit more than most of the other elder weapons until I decide otherwise. In general with G rank kulve and the two black dragons having their weapons and sets out just totally piss all over safi. This game for the most part felt as though it was going to be the Jiiva game but one monster makes a random surprise return and the other that wasn't even planned for the game shows up and the red dragon is left somehow in the ether.

With the new information in the new iceborne art book, its confirmed Safi is ACTUALLY A RIVAL OF FATALIS, meaning in a confrontation with alatreon, safijiiva would win by just a mile Kind of like a nergigante vs teostra

In the monster hunter universe all black dragons are essentially seen as the same being because of myths and such alatreon is quite diffrent from fatalis and dire miralis but dire miralis might just be an older crimson fatalis that never turned back to normal or white , dire miralis certenly feels like a creature driven by anger and hatret for live itself

I Wonder where Ruiner Nergigante will fit into all of this, since he's supposed to be a regulator of Balance, could he even taken on a Black Dragon level threat? What if Safi is now luring Black Dragons, as he used to do with Elder Dragons when he was just a new born Xeno, to absorb their energy? Maybe Safi is not the final stage of the monster, maybe he's trying to ascend to the status of Black Dragon himself. It would be soo cool to see a Black Safi Jiiva, the ultimate Black Dragon.

I didn’t think of this before, but the characters speak as if the Alatreon fight actually takes place before the Safi’jiiva siege, as they are calling it the “Red Monster”, instead of it’s actual name. This means that when we kill Alatreon, Safi’jiiva is indeed still alive. So, Safi’jiiva will most likely go back to the Secluded Valley and absorb Alatreon’s energy.

There was a redditor who I was unable to find the name of who had a theroy that another safi was going around and absorbing the bio energy of the black dragons we killed. Making it extremely powerful

Alatreon is covered in reverse scales, which are pretty much the sensitive spot of dragons, touching one would send the dragon into a frenzied rage and chase you to the ends of the world to kill you.

It makes sense that the ominous line about true fear is referring to fatalis or white fatalis as he scares away every non black dragon for miles

This is a good point to bring up the "Fatalis Tease" from the Seeker after the Safi Quest

I feel like we might see Safi go through another transformation if it absorbs Alatreon’s energy. The star like pattern on its wings when it absorbs energy makes me think it will be come a ‘Cosmic Black Dragon’.

Following the Fatalis train, we have a good reason why Fatalis would come and fight Safi'jiiva. Fatalis was known as the "Perfect Enemy For Humanity" and ravaged the Ancient Civilization for the immoral over-poaching of Elder Dragons to make the Bio-weapon "Equal Dragon Weapon" or "Wyvern Machine Soldier". This disrupted the rules of nature and Fatalis retaliated. Going back to the New World... doesnt that sound like something a certain Red Dragon is doing? Luring elder dragons of different shapes and sizes to die for its own cause. The Fatalis caused destruction because it needed to, and repels other organisms away from it. Safi'jiiva however, is doing what the Ancient Civilization once did. A brawl between these 2 titans is inevitable. And the old Guild Masters that warned the 3rd Fleet Master were fair to fear its arrival. They dont want another Great Dragon War incident that wipes out another civilization, and causes a mass extinction event for monsters of all shapes and sizes.

If I had to guess the secluded valley is a incubator for a powerful dragon (Possibly Fatalis or another op dragon) The Reason Safi was there it was protecting the secluded valley from trespassers and once it failed, Along comes a Alatreon to fulfill the duty as protector. Maybe another black dragon will show up to protect the secluded valley. If I had to take a guess after this black dragon whatever is in the secluded valley will finally awake and you fight it for the fate of the world.

If Sunbreak brings back Safi as a new form post Alatreon, then sign me up

Well Alatreon ad Saafi'Jivaa are a few of the hand full of monsters that I would call proper dragons (Ridiculous strength, presence and classic dragon features) while most other similar monsters are rightly labeled as simply flying wyverns. Perhaps the secluded valley is a place of power that only "dragons" are attracted to. Or perhaps this is simply more Jivaa pheromone shenanigans.

I think the message points to fatalis. In the lore, fatalis inflicts fear and dread upon surrounding monsters for miles. It's why lau Shan lung is in the fortress. Maybe this is the true fear they were talking about. Capcom has been paying really close attention to the lore recently.

Doesn’t alatreon prefer isolated places where nothing else exists which is why you can supposedly find them in deep underwater caves etc. so it going to the secluded valley would be a very good way for it to avoid encounters with other monsters because safi would be guarding the place it’s at (4th layer safi has first three). Just my theory

A theory I have in mind is that Alatreon sensed the depletion of energy on the Secluded Valley. Alatreon likes a place where there is no hint of life, and when the Guild brought down Safi'jiiva, Alatreon went to take the Secluded Valley as his new home.. Or something like that..

I like the idea of chromatic elder dragons. A land-based green elder dragon would be sick, and a blue water elder dragon. But I think those would be best if they were based on folklore instead of just wholly original.

I think it'd be cool if all these dragons fighting for energy was because the new world is where Fatalis is born. Fatalis is the end game of end game in terms of lore, and being that he practically feeds off death and destruction, i think it'd be fitting that he'd be born in the place that monster's go to die, and that he'd have an imposter (Safi).

What if that threat is the equal dragon weapon or anything to do with the ancient civilization. Theres still a lot we dont know about what happened back then.

You know what'd be hilarious? If Safi'Jiiva isn't actually related to Xeno'Jiiva at all. Example Safi'Jiiva is just some random red dragon that was living in the area with Xeno'Jiiva molting which we mistake as being a more mature Xeno'Jiiva.The ACTUAL mature Xeno'Jiiva is somewhere deeper in the secluded valley. I know it's not the case but it'd be absolutely hilarious.

Safi deserve a black dragon tier variant. Cant w8 for white fatalis to show up, us kill it and safi to pop up, absorb its energy and alatreon's and turn into a literal god.

Alatreon is just the older version of saji'jiiva

My theory: Black dragons were nature’s first attempt at an order keeper. (Fatalis stopped the old civilization and Alatreon stopped Big Red’s operation in the secluded valley) Obviously they were a big over correction so eventually something like nergigante was born and was a much more manageable order keeper.

my theory is that Xeno'jiiva is a Larvae state Safi'jiiva is a Cacoon state and Fatalis is its true final form

when i look at safi'jiiva and think about its powers, not only do i think it's a black dragon but i could even be a young fatalis and hasn't finished maturing.

The mysterious red dragon is Safi Jiiva. They don’t call him by his name because the Alatreon fight takes place after the recon assignment, but before the siege (so before he actually gets the name ‘Safi Jiiva’). There’s a text a while after the assignment where the third fleet master talks about how those “fearful of the old god” told her to “stay ignorant of true fear.” I think 1. This is foreshadowing the return of Fatalis 2. It looks like they’re fleshing out a connection between the black dragons, tearing down their myth as they did during the anniversary. 3. That it’s safe to say at this point that Safi Jiiva is a black dragon, between the way they treated him in marketing, the way they treat him as a world ending threat (and even imply a fight between he and Alatreon would be pretty even), and now they way they’re connecting him to Alatreon and potentially Fatalis down the road.

In my opinion, the true terror is Fatalis, Alatreon is as or more powerful than the white fatalis (at least the world version of Alatreon). However, since it is a solitary and "peaceful" although territorial dragon. They are not as scared as the Fatals since they do directly attack humanity and seem to have hatred. that is why the fatalis are more feared than Alatreon or SAfi'jivva because they represent a greater threat due to their aggressive nature. Although I am confident that we will see as Boss end the completely black Safi Final Form. I also believe that the theory that perhaps Safi is the one who is attracting you all to the new world is true.

Correct me If I’m wrong but, if safi needs a lot of bio energy to be made and the one we hunt is dead. So, theoretically couldn’t there be another safi in the guiding lands or hibernating under it since the guiding lands are made from a dead Zorah. Like I said correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t know if the secluded valley is in/near the hiding lands. I only just got to the hiding lands, haven’t even killed safi

Safi + Alatreaon = Fatalis, this can explain why it has so much power

Now that I think about it... Safi shares a bizarre resemblance with the Black Dragon known as Fatalis. What if they're actually revamping the origins of Fatalis's lore? Highly unlikely, especially considering that the idea is more ridiculous than it seems for new players. However, the Alatreon we found in Iceborne had complete control over its elements rather than be elementally unstable, so perhaps there could be something different for us in the future with already existing Black Dragons, even if the concept of an entirely changed lifecycle might as well be thrown out the window and into the fire rather than accepted as an idea that actually works. Besides, there's already canon info (at least, I can assume that) about what a Fatalis comes from; an egg. To change what we know without a reason is highly illogical and unnecessary in my opinion.

This is cool and interesting but I can’t help but be interested in shara ishvalda it’s role was that of xeno for base game but even compared to xeno shara just feels incomplete like there’s more to it and it’s story

If my memory doesn't fails me, White Fatalis is the one who commands all the elder dragons, may be he sent Alatreon there to stop a possible threat that may destroy the balance between elder dragons, of course that threat is Safi' Jiva, and as is said in the video Safi is waiting for Alatreon to be weakened by the hunter and then absorb his energy, then White Fatalis must send a Fatalis, to stop him. I think that if Safi manage to absorb a Dire Miralis Energy is going to be One if not the most Dangerous Monster in existence, even more that White Fatalis, because Miralis can't be killed, just stopped. I find it interesting that the New World had to be destroyed two times during the events of the game: -Zorah Magdaros dying in the Everstream -Shara Ishvalda swimming inside it It's as if nature wanted to kill the Jiivas but the Commission didn't allow it. Maybe Alatreon is another case, an extreme one because Safi'Jiiva is that alarming and there were a lot of cocoons/babies in the Secluded Valley that may have been killed by Alatreon. The reason why I think Alatreon killed the Jiivas is because the NPC dialogues implied that the quest took place between Safi Recon & Siege.

Given that ice borne has been complete for a year now and it’s been a few months since rise was completed and stories 2 got released, I’m surprised that there isn’t much activity on safijiiva and alatreon connections. Both the later games have 2 big points of bioenergetic consumption that could relate to these two. So I’ve got two theories. 1. The common “one take all” theory in here. This was already explained in the video and seems related to a side where the safijiiva-alatreon connection seems similar to a oltura-rathalos connection: both wish to take the other down and steal their energy. Alatreon wants to take the energy safi has to further increase its power, and with energy safi has, it may be able to have it inherit bio energy powers AND an ability to control its power, turning it into the legend it is feared for: the one that controls all the elements. On the other hand, Safijiiva wishes to take alatreon’s power to further increase its bio energy power. A black dragons power, as well as every element, can easily make safijiiva into a black dragon level monster. It may not look like a black dragon, but it could probably have enough to rival even the legendary fatalis. Besides, white and crimson fatalis aren’t black and they are more powerful. Both of these dragons are also extremely territorial, and prefer to change the area for their own benefit. So they would not like each other around anyway. It’s also worth noting that since the updates are set in a forward timeline, this “Safijiiva” moniker is only being used for the simplicity of stating it and being an adult xenojiiva. It is still classified as ”the red dragon.” Plus, this was the adult form of the resulting elder crossing acceleration, and due to this being every decade, as well as multiple signs of previous xeno inhabitants in the secluded valley, there is obviously more xenos and safis out there, hence why we could technically fight them over and over. So this is not between the safi recon and the siege, but AFTER the siege, when the alatreon’s appearance drove away the safi. 2. The seemingly unseen and probably unthought “mutual connection” theory. With the ending of rise, perhaps safijiiva and alatreon’s connection may not be like oltura and rathalos’, but more like Narwa and Ibushi’s. They both are elder dragons with heavy power, so they know how powerful the other is. But what if, hear me out, this was all turned around? What if safijiiva and alatreon are connected somehow? They could both still want their power. But what if they did it like Ibushi and narwa were doing? Given alatreon has elemental power, and safijiiva has bioenergetic control, they could possibly do a bioenergetic exchange; a mutual transfer of a bit of each of their powers, with the result being alatreon gets bioenergetic power and all round control, while safijiiva gets black dragon energy and elemental usage. The secluded valley obviously seems to go deeper, probably through the everstream. They could easily do this whenever they wish. The reason they may not, perhaps is due to humanity. They are black dragons (well, one is) like fatalis, so they could have both an extreme hatred on humankind, but also an extreme intelligence about them. They could attemptively be separate to not draw too much attention to hunters, as their mutual connection being exposed would have them as fatalis level threats instantly and be ordered to be hunted to extinction. Another reason is, again, territory. They may not like being with each other, and this stay at different areas of the secluded valley, changing every so often as one drives the other out. They may only do this as a sort of “peace agreement:” giving each other power to use on the monsters outside and not them. In return, they stay separate. Fatalis doesn’t connect as much with this, since it easily could know of both dragons existence. So why hasn’t it come to stop it. It is known the species and the known individuals can go to other places besides shrade, and do so so often for food or territory. It would thus, easily be able to fly to the valley and burn apart the safijiiva and alatreon. Why it hasn’t may be somewhat similar to why it hasn’t decided to just bring forth “the coming” and burn the world, with all its human inhabitants, to ash, despite its clear hatred of everything other than itself, how it has been attacked and slain constantly, and how easy it is for it to bring ruin. The only connection of fatalis is driving an alatreon to the valley as a hint of it reawakening. Of course, since ice borne is over with no clear explanation of the connection between safijiiva and alatreon, as well as no idea when either will come back in later games, or even together in that point. All we have are these theories. For now…

A theory of mine (Similar to a lotta people) is that Alatreon is destroying the nest, as the black dragons might fear or specifically hunt down the red dragons like Safi'jiva, fearing the possibility of something just as powerful, or even more powerful than it
