This is an extraordinary case, full of twists and turns. I knew this murder story before and watching it again makes me admire the perseverance of the detectives even more.

He nearly got away with murder because it never occurred to investigators living by the sea that a body does not sink to the bottom of the ocean without being weighted and that they should inquire about a weight.

One minute 23 seconds in and then I realised……it’s THAT case, the one with the guy in the fishing net, the watch etc. I’ve seen and read so many different stories about this crime, but I’ll never forget the very first time I heard about it. An absolutely gripping tale, it’s almost a real life Agatha Christie, “who done it”. I’m excited to see this version, from the perspective of the experts involved. Just fascinating 🧐 Thanks

I've seen this story elsewhere but it still gets me every time lol... Talk about KARMA....I wonder if they really were going to close the case before mistakenly going to the wrong--or maybe right--house?? Either way, the fact that the visit unfolded the way it did and he got caught as an eventuality was still wild

The daughter should have done jail time, she was just as guilty. She used another woman's identity and gave the children a fake last name and the woman that she stole the identity from had kids under her name and security number. She stole from the government so who care if she made a please deal. She still deserved jail time.

Seriously? Her father was a literal killer and she had 2 small kids and nowhere to go and he’s taking incestual pictures as well as likely r*ped her. How you have no empathy for that is mind boggling. Stealing from the gov isn’t a worse crime than murder and incest and I’m sure the gov was very grateful for her help locking him up. On the run since 15 who knows how long he was abusing and coercing her! Those pictures he took with her are bad enough!

So in England, you only wear English made clothes? In America that’d be irrelevant because every item could be from a different country. We carry lots of Canadian brands, especially for outdoor clothing.
@Kari.F.
@Kari.F. 2 года назад
I don't think the important thing here was if the brands were American or Canadian. My guess is that the clothes here were labeled "Made in Canada/America". Most clothes of Canadian and American brands are manufactured in low cost countries, just like most European brands. If his clothes were labeled "Made in Canada/America", there's a good chance he didn't buy them in Europe.
@ClassicRiki
@ClassicRiki Год назад
I wish the American producers would learn that in England we have CSE’s not CSI’s; examiners not investigators. Neither investigate anything…they examine. The investigation is conducted by investigators and forensic examination purely examines the scientific facts without chasing a particular suspect.

40:00 till 41:00 ish. That conversation, those words and emotions the victim expressed on the yacht, in the moments before he was murdered, did those come from Davis/Walker or did someone just decide to add a bit of incredibly emotive “conversation”? Either way, it’s horribly horribly tragic. What do you think?

Especially at that time…England wasn’t an intelligent place for him to commit murder. Our scientific ability and the fact that we had the very first official police force means they’re pretty good at it lol. The only intelligent part (though he clearly didn’t think he’d be found out so it’s not exactly intelligent if it’s an accident) is the fact that he wouldn’t get the death penalty like some places.
