My ex husband would stalk me and harrass me when I divorced him..I went to court and put a restraining order on him because he jumped the fence from my home and was watching me sleep through my window..I would go to the store and there he was..He also spray painted "I love you" on my driveway..I had enough..so I got my gun license and purchased a gun..and I moved to a different city..So far he hasn't been able to locate me..and I pray he never does..If he does find me I'm ready..Since I carry my gun on me at all times..So please men and women do not wait for things to get better or for your stalker to suddenly stop..because it will only get worse ..if you don't take action to protect yourself you could end up like this young lady...You can't count on Police to protect you..Until you end up dead is when Police take action

They do play out like the stories are almost scripted! It’s hard to watch knowing what is to come. It like watching a horror movie and the girl is running towards the danger in slow motion! There needs to be a specific “stalker unit” at every police station that is able to assess the situation with a questionnaire that tally’s up points per actions, if the stalkers actions score high enough he is picked up IMMEDIATELY!

So true! Here in Alaska I experienced that breaking a restraining order , the abuser didn’t even get jail time! Alaska has the highest rate of sexual assault/abuse. The system cares LESS! If the predator is a stranger then they take it more serious, but if it was from someone that used to have a relationship woth then they don’t take it serious! Sexual abuse of a minor or breaking restraining orders with abuse has less punishment then writing bad checks, or theft with money over $ a certain amount. so that this tells victims & predators -that money/monetary items are more important than a life.. F’ing system is so backwards! I promise a predator of children gets less time then a bank robber if both found guilty!

Making stalking a criminal offense is not enough. Stalkers should be bracelet cuffed, with a GPS transmitter, restricting them out of town. Long before the stalker reaches his victim, he would be arrested. The Same should be done with sexual offenders. The age of social media, is a haven for potential stalkers and sexual offenders. They don't even have to meet their victim, they can select their victim. They can gather personal information, victim's habits, and many other factors, right out of social media.

Unfortunately, liberal leaders continue to view this as mental illness first and danger second. They continue to push more lax laws on these monsters. Evil cannot be cured.
@kate_m_k88
@kate_m_k88 2 года назад
@@leeroyv5345 With all due respect, I do agree that there most definitely needs to be far more intense restrictions, consequences, punishments, etc., that people who commit these acts of stalking, harassment, etc., end up facing from governments and legal systems around the world, however, dismissing the *objective fact* that people like this are mentally ill and mentally unstable and developing the mindset and perspective that they are “just evil” and that you can't “cure evil” is, quite simply, and I don't say this to be mean-spirited, disrespectful, callous/insensitive, or anything remotely similar in nature, an irrational, unrealistic, closed-minded, short-sighted, ignorant, naive, confined, narrow-minded, “black and white,” unreasonable, cognitively and critically impaired or vacant, and unbeneficial way of thinking and overall perspective of we, as humans, who are in no way “all or nothing,” “good or evil,” simple/straightforward, or 1-dimensional, 2-dimensional, or even 3-dimensional beings, but rather, we are innately complex, complicated, multi-layered/multi-faceted, intricate, unique, and a product of a seemingly “never-ending” list of factors, circumstances, events, situations, experiences, and more, which includes those who commit these crimes, acts, etc. This idea that “liberal leaders” are doing something “wrong” for identifying, understanding, acknowledging, and taking into account the fact that human beings, no matter who they are, are not the way that you, as well as many others, for that matter, describe and view them as being, or that it is “not essential” to attempt to treat the practical and likely underlying issues with one’s mental health, which significantly impacts their thinking, behaviors, impulsivity, ability to rationalize, plus so much more, is something that not only astonished me for a multitude of reasons, but it, furthermore, is a mindset that very much exhibits willful ignorance, unawareness, and a lack of understanding and knowledge of the very thing that those of you who think this way are, which is the same thing that people who commit these acts/crimes are, which is an incredibly complex and complicated human being-only, we are not cookie-cutter or carbon copies of one another. I am not, by any means, someone who is religious; I am, however, someone who is deeply spiritual and who believes in only a couple of beliefs that one typically sees those who are religious believe in, outside of the fact that even those personal beliefs that I share with those who consider themselves religious, are not precisely the same as they see and believe in them. Now, the reason that I mention this is because of the choice of wording here and by *many* others, as far as describing certain people as “evil,” which doesn't necessarily mean or indicate that those, like yourself, who characterize people this way are automatically religious in any way. However, many who do also tend to make it noticeably clear that they have religious beliefs, which makes sense considering the exact choice of labeling individuals, as well as overall considering them to be “evil people,” as opposed to “good” or “decent” people. Even with my very own set of spiritual beliefs, I can't just base everything around those beliefs to fit them, nor can I ignore things based on Science, Medicine/Medical Science, and so on-luckily for me, my spiritual beliefs don't, for the most part, dismiss or ignore things founded in Science and adequate research, which means that I don't have to question things that I have learned and have gained knowledge, understanding, and awareness of throughout my 33, and almost 34 this coming October, years of life, lol. My point is that whether someone in your position is religious or not, and whether the sentiments or perspectives of certain people being “evil” derives from a religious standpoint or not, the fact that human beings, no matter who they are, are not “just evil” or “entirely good/decent,” and the fact that anything that people consider to be “evil” about someone directly tie to issues within their brain, such as a plethora of mental health-related struggles, disorders, and conditions, which no one chooses to have in any fathomable way or stretch of the imagination, as well as stemming from that specific person's life experiences, factors, events, and how those particular things have impacted that person’s brain, behaviors, etc., does not change or somehow become “nonexistent,” “irrelevant,” “insignificant,” or things that shouldn't get addressed. It doesn't matter if two people have the same mental health diagnoses or have experienced similar things-they not only do not have the same brain, but they also don't have the same life experiences entirely, so those people who say something like, “I have such-and-such disorder/condition, and I haven't done x, y, or z” or “I experienced/endured this one thing, as well, but I don't like this one person,” and this is no different than those who consider specific people to be “just evil,” clearly have a lack of adequate, realistic, and rational understanding, knowledge, and awareness of us human beings in general. A vast amount of people also act like or exhibit thinking that suggests that two things can't exist or that they can't acknowledge two different things about someone or a situation at the same time, which is something amongst people that is becoming more and more commonly shared and demonstrated through the opinions, sentiments, perspectives, and thinking that they share online especially. For example, too many people act like it is “unacceptable,” “not right,” or somehow “invalidating” to victims of various things to develop an understanding of not only that someone’s actions that caused harm to another were undeniably wrong, but also establish an understanding of how and why it is that the person became the way that they did, which includes acknowledging the fact that there are many cases where a person’s poor thinking, concerning behavior, and damaging actions “make sense” when one has an understanding of not only the potential and likely mental health/illness they possess, but how and why someone could become the way that they did due to those mental health-related issues and all of the things that they experienced and went through throughout their life. One thing, as far as knowing that a person’s actions were in every way wrong, does not have to negate or devalue the significance of how and why someone ended up the way they did and came to do those awful things they did and vice-versa. The same concept and understanding, without a doubt, also applies to how governments and their judicial system handle people like the guy, in this case, not to mention the statement that you and others made about the inadequate system and consequences that too many governments have regarding offenses like this-let’s not forget the precise opinion you shared about liberal government leaders and them “continuing to view this as mental health first and danger last.”. Firstly, “liberal leaders,” as you put it, are not wrong for viewing the issues within these people as “mental health-related” first and foremost. One has to identify the root of a problem before anything else. Secondly, I highly doubt that conservative or republican leaders have “figured out” or established the “most beneficial and reasonable” way of handling things either. As a liberal myself, there is no doubt in my mind that regardless of whether a government that liberals run or conservatives/republicans run, there is a blatant issue with the steps they take to keep everyone, including the offenders, safe and secure, as well as more than obvious problems and flaws in the resources, outlets, and programs they provide to treat people who offend, prison reform, jail services, and much more. The answer isn't just to lock everyone up and “throw away the key,” so to speak, nor is it to ignore the objective reality and nature of how human beings are and how and why they came to be a particular way. If people think that locking up everyone for good or just executing people, while simultaneously, and with willful ignorance, ignoring the facts and realities going in within these people who, and again, did not choose to have the mental sickness that inhabits their brains, which profoundly affects and impacts a significant amount of aspects of themselves, as well as how and why they think, act/behave, “rationalize” to themselves, etc., well, outside of what I have already expressed in this response, I don't know how else to explain just how irrational, flawed, and simple-minded that mindset and thinking are at the end of the day.

@@kate_m_k88 The mental health related issues that these people experience, is that they have an ego... that they think they are above the law, that it is ok to control someone, and if not verbally, then physically. The fact that these people have not been held responsible for their actions in the past... they have not been told no by mommy and daddy. That's the reality. If you have had a child murdered, if you have experienced the terror of being stalked as I have, they are a completely people than an emotionally disturbed person being aggressive, with mental health issues, whom you speak of. These stalkers and murderers are calculating. They do not need to be kept safe and secure as you put it. When you speak of EDPs, those are the people who do not have a plan, they do have a chemical imbalance, an alternate reality that they live, and yes it can be scary for them, and thus, yes, they need help in a safe and secure environment... but that is not the same as some jackass who can't accept that a girl doesn't want him, and so she has to die so that no one else can have her. There is one thing to try if this happens to you: practice being unattractive. Think about it. You can put on an act of not being desirable. There are ways. Make it seem like you aren't special. Claim you once had cancer and can't have children. Claim you are torn between liking men and women. Use your imagination. STOP feeling you need to be sincere. At home he threw his dinner at me if he didn't like it. He had serious road rage, and he'd scream, or drive right up the car's bumper. When he went into the hospital for surgery I was forbidden to leave, so I slept on the radiology floor. I kicked him out of the house, and he still followed me everywhere. I just up and poofed to another state. I closed all my bank accounts, and instead of taking a bus or train I hitchhiked to another state. I never saw him again. But I was absolutely terrified of him.

I have been stalked by 2 different people in my life. Leaving me as a very hyper vigilant adult . The 1st one was at highschool , the boy that began stalking me was a loner , almost an outsider type . And I always showed him kindness as I felt bad for him . Months and months I dealt with the letters , love songs and sonnets , threats , messages and phone calls, unwanted gifts , him waiting outside my house singing to me while my parents were at work. Until my mum checked my bebo and saw a message from him threatening to bring a particular weapon to school and kill me and himself. Sure enough, after intensive police interviews etc they found he did have that weapon ready to go that morning. Unfortunately, the school didn't really help me. The boy went away for help , but he was allowed back at school!!!! after that and he started his obsessive behaviors again . I ended up leaving highschool at 15 because of it . And haven't seen him since . I can tell you, I felt the same as Claire, maybe I shouldn't have been so nice to him. Maybe I led him on. Maybe I'm being ridiculous. He's harmless. No !!! Stalking is stalking and I am lucky I had a parent who caught on to what was happening before it was too late . It's always going to haunt me and it's always going to affect me .

Yeah, I know what you are talking about, there are boy types and very aggressive freaky people gang stalking me. Ever since I was stalked by a young man, jealous females have made me their target. Now listen, they are actually very mentally disturbed, and out of anger try to prove they are who they are not, not in a million years. I describe them with the P and B word, dangerously mentally disturbed and they know exactly they are not who they portray to be. I sure know......

I had a stalked in college. I had doubt that the women’s center would be able to help me, but they were AMAZING. They listened to my entire story without cutting me off, they informed me about stalking and its patterns and what my options were. They immediately brought him in and threatened to expel him if he didn’t leave me alone. They informed me that at this point there is a 50% chance it will end and a 50% chance it will get worse. Anyway, hopefully by now, most women recognise the behaviour that these sort of blokes exhibit. And get the hell out when they do!!!!!! When it's over, it's over! I've never found that one hard to grasp, when she says, 'you're a lovely guy but I don't think we're right for each other', or whatever line she chooses. I'll admit, the final ruling has, on occasion, been a long way from 'a lovely guy'........ a country bloody mile away!!!!!!! You're a total bastard for ending it, even when you've done everything possible to make it as painless as you can humanly manage...... Whatever you do, you don't do what this bloke did. Hindsight is 20:20 but the signs were there, as I said, I really hope sisters know the tell-tale signs of controlling, obsessive type weirdness + nothing like this case will happen again any time soon. A final word to my fellow man, before I go......... We all love + lose, + when things don't work out, keep your head held high + keep on keeping on. You then, which hardly needs saying, do what men have always done when facing the dark shadow of rejection...... You go out + get completely bloody sloshed. And again, if anyone thought I was blaming the victim, I apologise, but I wasn't....... In fact, now that I've just read what I wrote, if that came across as victim blaming I would question your comprehension + ability to correctly interpret what you read. One day I walked into my room and found a kitchen knife next to a letter on my bed, I moved out that night so he started stalking me at work and in the streets. While a person who hasn’t gone through that might think that reporting it to the police it’s the logical thing to do, the fear of making matters worse is very real. I didn’t report my stalker as I was afraid he would physically harm me in retaliation.

I’m a man and I’ve dealt with a stalker, I know it’s easy to think men shouldn’t be scared but it is very scary! My stalker would sit outside my work, when she knew my kids weren’t with me she would text me saying “I saw your ex with the kids so I am gonna come over so we can hang out” I would lock my doors and turn off my lights! I moved 4 hours away for a new job and not long after she showed up knocking on my door! The house I moved into was in a farming area so my closest neighbor was a half mile away or so and I lived alone, yes I own guns, yes I’d use them if necessary but I really didn’t want to take someone else’s life! I wouldn’t let her in and actually called my brother who lived somewhat close and told him what was going on and if I wasn’t at work the next day he’d know why! She sat with her back against my front door crying and begging for at least 30 min and I finally told her if she didn’t leave I was calling the cops, she finally left but she peeled out of my driveway throwing gravel everywhere and chipped a window in my house, I slept with a gun near for awhile after but thankfully she gave up! The crazy part is I have no idea how she found my house, I had just moved there, nothing was in my name yet and it was 9 miles off the main road kind of back in the country! Stalkers can be resourceful and cunning when they have their minds set! I hate that this happened to Clare and her family, that man was a coward and a toddler that couldn’t have what he wanted so he threw a fit! What a POS!

Beware any date that tries to speed up the relationship, they are aware their ‘game face’ only lasts so long. Don’t fall for it, and we all need to shoot the expression ‘getting swept off my feet’. You need those feet if you need to run! Excessive calls, gifts and jealousy are harbingers of doom. Try finding out about former relationships, how they ended, especially. PLEASE DON’T THREATEN, just be proactive on your own behalf or it’ll be YOUR relatives speaking passively about the danger YOU WILL BE IN.

Also unnecessary clingy behavior such as making up that one was supposed to get together when it’s not true is also a red flag. Basically, the person doesn’t give you space to breathe. Even a “harmless” stalker is a psychological threat because one doesn’t know when and how it will escalate. Document everything, make photos when you are followed by your stalker to make a case against. You need systematic evidence for police, lawyer and authorities.

The world is cruel and i filled with dangerously harmful people..people who have killed who is still free..its one of the reasons i dont want to have children..i dont want them in still world full of so much suffering, hate... i might overdue it..but the world as enough kids who dont have parents..so we should care about what is here already..help one another, and dont think that being stalked will never lead to murder...or still will never happen to me...obviously not everyone is into crime docs like us..but they dont have to..they just need to be more self aware of danger...red flags..im always on watch if i meet new people...i am careful to let new people in to my life so fast.

As a victim of stalking I can say authorities do not take this seriously enough. My stalker has broken my restraining order over 40 times and is just served another court date. The day that she was arrested and charged with the felony of stalking, she was released. I’m just waiting for her to snap and stab me or set my house on fire. There needs to be more serious consequences for breaking a restraining order.

I agree. Stalkers are mental cases. They need to be locked up in mental hospital and when they are release, they need to wear tracking device implanted into their heart like a pace maker. If they get anywhere near their victims, the device sends a shock to render them unconscious.

I think 🤔 it has a lot to do with how reactive rather than proactive law is set up. It often seems the police don’t or won’t do much until something physical and terrible has occurred. And maybe legally they cannot. It’s a flaw in the system because looking backward it seems so obvious where things were heading. Even when he has plead guilty to death threats he’s let out on bail before sentencing because he still hasn’t “really done anything “.

Watching this literally gave me PTSD. I dated a guy who behaved the same. After we broke up he would send me messages like we were still together, eg "babe what do we have for supper?" Of course I blocked him on all social media channels but he'd still find a way. I'd get weird dms and snaps saying we're meant to be together. I would automatically block these users. Since these didn't work,I started getting video calls on WhatsApp from foreign numbers and some random guy would tell me to go back to my relationship. In my country, police don't take these things seriously. One actually laughed at me and told me I should give the guy what he wants. He started showing up at my house unexpectedly. Fortunately, my family was understanding enough and we moved. I feel so much safer now but of course I'm always scared he might find a way to reach me. I'm so sorry Clare.

Mom’s story she tells at 30:30, and what she says at 31:16 -just crushed me. As a dad of even a 5-year-old boy, seeing your child grow and become more relatable and able to share experiences that are just a genuinely fun time to both of you… it’s just an incredible thing to witness. I think of the things I hope to share with my son when he’s in his 20’s, and hearing this mom recounting a time where she shared a moment like that with her grown daughter- as a time of “pure gold.” How excited she was with the “best friend” her daughter had grown to be- it’s gut wrenching to know she only got a taste of it and then it was tragically taken away from her (and her daughter for that matter.) I think that part of the video hit me harder than any other part; and that’s saying something.

A serous stalker doesn’t see their actions as wrong. Because they can do it. They only know it’s wrong when they’re caught. But as long as they can stalk they will. I had to stop a stalker by just being rude to him. I made myself as undesirable as possible. Without yelling or hitting. If I had to belch in his face, or fart. What ever to turn him off. I knew he was dangerous. He was calling me repeatedly a dozen times a day. Stalking my home. And knocking on my windows. Totally obsessed. I had to be rude to get rid of him. Police told him to stop. He’d just switch to a new tactic.

So I did. He was so bad that during our divorce when the judge notified him I filed for 12 year’s of protection. He got instantly furious. And his buddy had to restrain him to exit out the courthouse. I had to wait several minutes before I could leave. That’s another thing. If you ever have to take someone to court who has anger management issues. Or control issues. Don’t let them see where you parked your car. And don’t let them see you leave the courthouse. This judge could see the history behind our relationship was bad. And he knew if he proceeded on our first schedule court date for appearance to divorce. I would have problems with him by himself. It was just him and me there. So the judge requested that I have proof of residence living inside my county for a year. And my ex asked if he had a witness to residence would that help? Judge agreed. I went to my attorney’s office for a “Residence Affidavit” to fill out. And asked my neighbor to come to the courthouse with me to have it notarized. My ex brought his boss to court. My ex was a contract worker. Once the judge took all the freedom from my ex away from harassing me. He was furious.
