@@SilverPaladinidc about their cancel culture,i haven't been as passionate for anything in life as for blues and they are not ruining it for me or for anyone
Something like that Ben. No politics, racism. Reminds me of my 23 years in the Army. I was jamming to this music, the Soldiers who worked for and with me all came from different backgrounds and cultures. We got along and worked as part of the same Team. The Human Race. Loving the music! Jim 😎
I'd fuck it up the second either of them looked at me lol strings would fall off and amp would expload into a flock of angry birds pecking me between the eyes and temple.
RIP Albert King (April 25, 1923 - December 21, 1992), aged 69 And RIP Stevie Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990), aged 35 You both will be remembered as legends.
Man this is just beautiful, the way Stevie shows Albert what he can do, not by showing off, but showing respect the whole time. And Albert lookin at Stevie with such pride and amazement, you gotta love it. RIP Brothers , both Legends in their own time. 🎸
Yeah.. I used to hang with Gus and the Lorren's brothers Micheal- drums and Tony -keyboards whenever they came to NYC.. they shared lots of hilarious stories with me of life on the road with King Albert.
par de monstruos del blues inolvidables srv 7 del mundo de todos los tiempos y Albert king lo más alocado que le vi en su carrera le sacaron toda la música a esas guitarras
This amazing jam session displays the most beautiful thing about the blues and how ots about humanity and not about color or race. Thats real music and real people. These two were kings of blues and just music in my humble opinion. This blues is beautiful
My dad had an old vhs with this jam, this was a huge part of my childhood, in the early 90s, hearing this version wothout all the static and shit makes me wish my dad could see this

I just hope they're up in heaven playing this endlessly & there's a seat reserved for me with a bottle of whisky waiting for me for when i get there 🌌🌫🎸🍻
Mr.Mark for some people there is no accounting for taste. They obviously have none.Just more for us n there's a special place place in hell for the idiots
Exactly! He gets done playing what was stevie's style and then stevie starts playing and it's the world a difference. And you could play this for a blind man and he would immediately know when stevie came in
Stevie elevated the blues back to prominence. The first time I heard the very first notes of "Cold Feet" from "Albert King - King of the Blues Guitar," I fell in love with him and have been ever since.Truly untouchable, both of them.
My wife and I smoke weed and listen to this album just about every night sometimes till 3 or 4 in the morning music to lose track of time and forget about your worries the blues soothes the soul
A white man and a black man coming together enjoying each other loving each other having a great time how I wish the rest of our country could do that today.
At 00:52 when Albert yells, "C'mon punk!", with a smile on his face. 🤣 These guys loved each other and it comes out in the music. Such joy! Such genius!
One of the most beautiful jam sessions I've ever seen. Like a father and a son, teacher and student. Stevie said take color of of the blues. Don't matter what race, religion, or color, music transcends all. The magic of music :)
Stevie in his own words looked up to Albert King like his adopted benevolently father and would only let loose, out of respect, when Albert would wave him on. Stevie was so humble and respected these great like Albert so much is what made him do special along with his God given natural ability. This is my favorite DVD concert I own. This was done in Canada. A few years later Albert passed away and 7 years later Stevie died. RIP I'm sure wherever you're both at you're still jamming together making heavenly harmony ❤️👍❤️
Every time buddy gur or albert king and his brother jimny rad R vaughn or eric clampton. They know ther playing with the master of the blues stevie ray vaughn. What a show any timein the world. Stevie is the showman snd the master what a giftgod lets us have for a while john huggins
when i got into the BLUES, i heard his name mentioned TOO many times.....assoon as i googled him and saw the wreckage.....i had to cry....I FELT AS IF I HAD DISRESPECTED HIM for not knowin about him. i was goin into my senior year of high school when i saw it MTV jus pasin thru the neighborhood.....IT TOOK A LONG TIME FOR ME NOT TO GET EMOTIONAL LISTENIN TO HIM....and when i found IN SESSION.....I WAS IN TEARS BASICALLY THE WHOLE HOUR AND TWENTY EIGHT MINUTES....no one played with the INTENSITY he did til this day.....dont get me wrong, there are some greats out there......but none to compare to him.....
You can not like this because it's a classic case of clashing contemporaries. This is an entirely inappropriate duo. Albert's legend stands taller than Stevie's, and always will. But he's of a very different era and mentality which simply does not work in the context of Vaughn's explosive funk-blues. King was many wonderful things on the fretboard, but "diverse" was not one of them. He played the blues, and only one style of it. He did it as well as anyone ever could, or probably ever will again, but still, he could not play outside of that. It's a cool novelty to see two blues legends on stage together just the same, sure. But this isn't good music and there's a lot of very silly people in this comment section who've allowed novelty to turn off their ears, and celebrity to cloud their better judgement.
Sorry that we are all not as enlightened as you oh Lord Jai Guru; may you grace us with your great knowledge of how music should sound/does sound to the relative ear! I for one find it true that opposites attract, that sweet and salty do in fact go well together and that SRV and Albert King, though opposite in approach, connect Blues through this unique timeline of blues shown throughout this video. Being that King was old style and limited in his capability of moving from style to style... I believe SRV did a fairly great job in not over accentuating his very much louder and more funk-blues style playing. To hear a base track laid out by very good musicians, and to have that be the bridge that allows blues to encompass sixty years of culture is beautiful. These two styles meet in this middle ground that two masters have created in this room. Isn't Blues full of soul and emotion? I look at this like there is a soul that is pushing at the gate to wail (SRV) and does; then we see the emotion of a reserved, continually oppressed man (given the times in which Nelson was alive) being brought out in a powerful yet reserved way. This is history as the OP said.
What can be said about this session that hasn't been said already. Both Albert and Stevie both shredding and making both guitars just scream with heart felt emotion. Just like two great guitarists. they just flow with each other. I love how Stevie Ray is just studying and showing admiration as well as respect When Albert is taking the lead And Albert stands up and he gets Stevie Ray up too.. And only in the blues can you play a 4 minute song and turn it into a 15 minute song and at the end of the 15 minutes and at the end of those 15 minutes you wish they could have turned it into a 20 minute song and never get tired of it.Great video and RIP both Albert and Stevie Ray. I am waiting in anticipation until its my time to go to heaven and see the super group they have up there . Albert KIng, Stevie Ray Vaughn , Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley , John Lee Hooker, Howlin Wolf.....and up there I'm sure Chuck Berry and Elvis will be part of the super group too and fill in any of the other greats.....I still hope thats a long time away but until then. think how heavenly that group would be.
Want to know what Albert King thinks of Stevie's playing? Just look at him! Yelling and clapping the whole time.. Got to love that. RIP Stevie and Albert
Albert King's style includes challenging and exhorting his fellow players to bring out their best. That plus the fact that Albert is one of Stevie's influences. I think Albert King is Stevie's prime influence when you compare his sound to the others that people compare him to (Hendrix), and those he references (Albert King, BB King, Muddy Waters).
The fact that he can tickle those sounds out of that badass flying vee with just his fingers amazes me. My very favorite bluesman. He took some flack for it at the time but i love the way he incorporates a larger band and full horn section in some of his other stuff out there. Smooth and heavy and hard like polished concrete.
Experienced this. Still have 2 copies...signed CD's. I come back and watch once in a while, just to humble myself. These 2 players playing off each other? will never be equaled....37 yrs. and counting.
Oh My God!!! This Was Probably The Greatest Summit Meeting in Blues History!!! To See These Two TITANS AT THE Height of THEIR POWERS CREATING SUCH MUSIC TOGETHER, WAS NOTHING LESS THAN A GIFT FROM GOD!!!!!!!
It’s just so insane to me how Albert King plays his guitar upside down and bends the strings down. It’s completely insane how he just learned like this and kept going through his entire career
When Albert tells him to never stop trying to get better, then he tells Stevie ( you gonna get better .... you pretty good right now, but you gonna get better ) what a way to motivate and compliment someone in the same sentence. and you can see the Admiration on Alberts face as he watchs Stevie play . tWO PEOPLE WHO MADE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE..GREATLY MISSED !!
i completely agree, i feel that the need for a display of showmanship has robbed many musicians of the actual meaning behind music: expression of self, reaching others
Words cannot describe this music, this is awesome 👍 God bless Albert King and Stevie Ray Vaughan and all of the people that helped to make this reel ... Hats off to all of them 👍👌🎆🏆🌹❤️🙏🗝️💯
Man..the world lost so much when Stevie left us..it’s hard to put into words….But I’ll just let his playing do all the talking… because he gave so much to all of us… at least I’m grateful for that.. there simply was no one else like him… Keep on playin Stevie…
0:30 you're light is blinding me Mr. King, literally 👏🎸⚡ I genuinely feel pity for those who can't appreciate or know what greatness roamed this earth once upon a time... RIP 2 Legends🎩 hats off
No better music than the Blues it's in the Blood and class of special people who know what it means to love the the music at it's best by Legends present and past I for one will always love the The Blues and will always be greatful for the effors done by Legends who have sacrificed their live for us to forever love 💕 the messages sung to feel the Blues at Heart
81 thumbs down ?! are we watching and listening to the same thing here. This is outstanding , pure creative genius from 2 legends . Bass player deserves a big hand can't sound and play this good without everyone playing their part. Fantastic , great post, cheers
There are clueless and classless fools in every town. All I can say is that if you don’t dig this down deep, then you don’t know what true joy is……. and that is a pity!!!
