Here is a composition I made thinking of the story of a young man in the 18th, Albert La Hous, returning home after a war, and learns that his wife died of a fever a week before his return.
The music begins with his return.
An "innocent" melody is played, which turns into sweet sadness when he sees his family members but his wife is missing,
when he learns the death of his beloved, the melody become more emotional, he finds himself in tears in front of her grave, the music embellishes in great emotional outbursts, illustrating a strong feeling that invades the character.
The melody quiets when, on his shoulder, his son place his hand
I use this picture to illustrate the father relation with his son
( The picture is from the movie Barry Lyndon )
Hope you like it !
