Well, I’m an idiot. I just realized that I wrote the wrong numbers on my baseballs (at the 14:30 mark). Somehow I was off by 1,000. When you break so many records, sometimes it gets confusing. 🤦♂️
This stadium reminds me of exhibition stadium. The blue jays played there from 1977-1989. The only difference is that this stadium isn’t a multipurpose like exhibition field was and is much nicer.
This video cracks me up. Pujols was the reason I played 1B as a kid (till I grew up to be too small for 1st and became a utility player lol). I'd always heard he was a good guy and I even got to play a couple seasons on the fields he built at his old high school. Jump back a bit though, my Dad and I met him in KC at a Kohls when I was maybe 8 or so. I was shy and kind of half hiding behind my Dad when he told Albert we were big fans and wondered if we could get his autograph. I remember him sticking his hand out at my Dad (practically in his face because of the height difference) and saying "No way, man", before walking away to continue shopping. I cried in the car and ended up playing 3rd my next season. To this day (at 22), I still remember that moment pretty distinctly, but looking back on it - I realize it was around Christmas time and he might've been shopping with or for his family, the Cards had missed the postseason that year, and he's one of the best to ever play so I'm sure he gets a ton of fan requests in public. Still I feel that my Dad couldn't have been more polite (he's really not the rude kind of fan) and I was a tiny kid who said he was the reason I played the position. I don't know why it was like that, and I am bummed that I still don't have a Pujols signature. Yet I remain a fan of the man and hope to see him hit 700 before retiring. A few years later at a game at Kauffman, I yelled to him from the dugout seats and waved. He smiled and waved back, and that was just as good as an autograph that day. He may have had a bad day at Kohls or something, but regardless of how I felt from a personal experience, it certainly doesn't change what he's done for the game.
haha the kids reaction... You've pretty much became a mascot for the MLB my man. Please keep your main focus the kids, it really hits home when you're good to the youngens.
I mean, he could let the kids run the balls down and catch them for themselves. But he's just a man child who some gain attention for constantly begging for while standing next to children or running people over instead of actually sharing the fun of snagging a ball. And he gets butt hurt when people glance at him. And he's using clickbait title to make Puljos look bad, not classy
But the thing is he is the guy to be mad that he won’t 22222 balls and most people are lucky to get one so he should give way mor like all but one so he has one and the person that came first time gets a ball to thank you for the longest thing I’ve ever wrote deepest.
And my family and i saw him before and he was being crazy and was running around and nudging some people and was yelling often and people don’t want to be filmed either
Waiting in the dark outside a stadium is the funnest thing. I used to do it in Orem for the Angels' rookie team. I think I surpassed 10 fouls a few times.
ZACK YOUR MY FAVORITER EVER! NEXT Q&A, how are you? How was Easter? And how is life in general? Next time if go to the Astros stadium, can I be in your video because I live like 45 minutes away from the stadium. GL on 600k
I have done the same thing at so many minor league and collegiate league stadiums & games, running back and forth from stadium side to side, checking the online lineup to determine where I'm going, and I've gotten a bunch of fouls this way. Glad you've caught on (ha) to an unorthodox, less competitive way to snag.
Sam Lynn ballpark in Bakersfield was my minor league spot for five seasons of catching fouls. I got about 1500 fouls and home runs during that time, going to around 55 games a season. Just like your experience, it was usually a lot of fouls in the first three innings, then hardly any in the middle, and a few at the end. By the way, I was in my early 50s during that! You're my inspiration!
Zack... Amazing. I'm 46 years old, and this video reminds me of my early-teen years, hanging outside the local professional A ball stadium in the parking lot, doing exactly the same thing! #memories #fun #foreveryoung
Especially after not being allowed in stadiums last season.Personally being a diehard fan myself the actual game is 1 million times more important than any ball i might get.
this is exactly what i did for the stockton ports minor league team. ive gotten hundreds of balls over the years and miss doing it. had lots of fun and made so many memories
Reminds me of myself years ago. Tried: Murray's #500 (Which he hit a day later at home.), Fred Mcgriff #400 (Couldn't get into Shea, due to some charity benefit.) Bonds #600. (Way too much competition in the cove.) And others. You could go to many, many, and MANY games trying to position yourself correctly. The only gamer I ever caught, was a ground-rule double. And that was after many, many games standing behind the wall at Dodger Stadium.
I'm honestly glad you weren't in the stadium for this game, cause it was an ugly one. 7 fowl balls is much better than you actually seeing how terrible the Angels were that game. I also somehow didn't know about the "pitch the last 3 innings of a ballgame that you win to earn a save" rule until you mentioned Tommy Milone getting a save in that game and I looked it up. Just when I thought I knew all the rules lmao. Great video as always. Congrats on #5,000 outside of New York and the 7 foul balls as well.
Your great with your fans and subs seen that today first hand my son is still talking about meeting you and the fact he called on the way to the stadium that he was going to meet you blew my mind
Good to see your vids again, dude! I went to a Mariners game last week. And for the first time ever, I caught a ball on the fly. It was a foul ball, but still good. The catch was so good, both networks replayed my catch. When asked how I learned to catch like I did, I said, "I watch Zack Hample's videos". 👍
If you're going to ballhawk outside the stadium, have you considered watching for the handedness of each batter so you can move to the left side with a lefty batter and the right side for a righty batter?
Yeah i went to school with alberts daughter bella when I was younger.. used to see him around the county pretty frequently... tbh he likes to go about his business and often isnt very friendly... pretty sure everything he put on here was a front 😂 appreciate the help he gave the cards when he did but im happy hes gone.. his statue got removed and his name isnt spoken here often anymore 🤣🤣
I thought the same thing except my parents live close by and went to game last year and at least according to them it was a nightmare to get into and out of and the seating sucked but maybe they are wrong or it has improved.
So you can finally be inside a stadium after all this pandemic stuff and you would rather be outside by your self than inside, watching the angel and your favorite player?
Albert hates you and you were supposed to get his 600RBI 😂, I think getting it would've been better for your relationship Zack, the vid was soo cool as always tho
