Actually, that's an Alberto knot but it's still a good demonstration of how to tie it. An Albright doesn't wrap over its coils a second time, it just wraps 8-12 times back toward the loop (like the 2nd set of wraps in an Alberto) and then tightened. Both are great braid to leader knots! This one you're showing with the 2nd set of loops over each other is preferred. Still a great demo !! Thanx!
Yeah, I had similar suspicions boss..😅 Still an effective vid, like you've stated. I'm all aboard the Alberto Knot train myself, fka buncha Albright😂. #fishon #tightlines4evr
I just want to say thank you very much for this video.... Iv had trouble tieing so many knots but this video I found easy. I now use this to join my braid to my fluro. I run 6lb braid and 6lb fluro and I have caught a couple 5, 6, 7 and even a 8lb kahawai (from the tuna family and one of the better pound for pound fighting fish in NZ) and the knot has held up. I'm now connecting some of my friends lines together with this knot so thank you very, very much.
Hey, that came out real nice! I've been sitting here trying FG knots and some other ones and my fluoro leader kept slipping. This one came out great, first try!
everything is right , but tie 3 half hitchs to each end and a drop of super glue on the other ends and wipe across the knot, this bonds the knot!!, and makes a smooth barrier over the knot to run thru the tip eyelid on the end of the rod. always carry a little bottle of acetone to clean your hands off the super glue, unless you have a super glue container with a little brush in it/. very good instructions on making the knot,
this is my go to line to leader for light tackle. it's not the best. it's the best for how fast and easy it is. fg is the superior knot [stronger, lower profile, lasts longer casting through guides,] but you don't need it for light tackle in many cases. this is an alberto knot, a modified albright knot created by northeast surfcaster alberto nee. i believe he is based in florida now.
This knot is a variation of the Albright knot also known as the Alberto knot. If tied correctly, it is only slightly weaker than an FG knot and comes thru guides better.
Albright knot! well if it's the Alberto knot, it's a better knot to tie. I found this knot easier to tie from 30IB braid to 70IB mono, with no complicated turns, twists and loops😂😂😂. Fantastic video, well presented sir. Derek
One of the easiest way to do Alberto knot. However no-one asked the question I quite like the song you played while making the knot. Would you be able to give us artist and song name. Thanks mate
This works very well for thick line. BUT! What I find is with thin line, Flurocarbon cuts braid like butter, if you are not very particular how you lay the braid and how you tighten it. It takes me at least 5x to tie this at 100% strength at home. In field.. I don't have the trust in this knot any more. I'm talking about 0.15mm braid to 0.4mm fluro and and below. Fished 0.1mm braid to 0.28 fluro and lost the rig on tiny hookset: braid just gets sliced.
I swear I have had better success without 2 wraps. I just do the second twist about 10 times. Tying with both twist seems to leave a lot of room for error when tightening the knot. Cheers.
I agree with of replies. IT 😊is an Alberto knot. Good demo. But maybe you should learn the proper names. It is causing new anglers a lot of confusion. And the music is very bothersome.
LOL I love it when the clueless try to teach. Learn what knot you are tying before you make an (_,_) out of yourself by not even knowing what you are tying. This is a Crazy Alberto knot not an Albright.
