I really dont get what Pop is trying to say. GP formed in '93 , and the Clan dropped same year, and they formed in '92. He may have been rapping longer than RZA, but RZA and GZA got signed to a solo deal before Pop. The clan formed because they all knew each other, it just started with RZA, GZA, and ODB who happened to be family. They gave Pop a shout-out out of respect, i think that alone was paying homage. But it seems like hes playing the entitledment card. He didnt make moves or worked hard as RZA, seeing RZA helped his clan nab solo deals, worked on they solo records, and still gave outside members a chance to shine when labels wasnt knocking down they doors. Yet this dude feels he should be bigger tha the Wu. Him and GP are nice, but they aint touching Wu. They came out swinging, Pop aint on that type of time and energy, so whatever he feels he wants right now, he needs to stop and Thank RZA, and Shyheim also (besides for throwin GP Wu on his album) for even shining light on them when no one was paying attention to 'em. Sorry Pop, you sounding bitter now.

Pop Da Brown Hornet 🐝 is a dope and underrated emcee yet he would’ve had a longer following had he allied himself with the RZA and his movement. It’s stupid of him to beef with the WU when it was the Wu-Tang Clan who put and made Staten Island 🏝️ Worldwide.

It’s hard to understand what we’ve been through out here on the island when you not from here there has been a lot of stories told about where we are from it great to hear some of these brothers tell their side of the story to fill in the blanks Staten Island We The Best No Khalid

This dude still telling this story like he is a founder of Wu-Tang. Pay respect to the Abbot and please stop trying to make it sound like he stole the Wu-Tang Clan vision. Pop Da Brown Hornet is nice on the mic, but he will never be in the Wu-Tang Clan or a Wu-Tang Killa Bee, he is a GP Hornet. Having a community organization or thought is way different then being in a band and manifesting something physically. GP and his dudes didn't want to do the Wu-Tang Clan concept that RZA came up with which not only included to be a unified movement of Staten Island into something bigger, Shaolin, to include Brooklyn, eventually something global, taken it a step further and including the Wu-Tang Kung Fu movies and kung-fu metaphors mixing it with supreme mathematics, etc. GP wanted to stay hood and street on their corner, nothing with sword play, tiger style, etc, and that's why they stayed there, they lacked the faith in RZA's vision. RNS had his crew and RZA had his own crew, both had different sounds and slang. I had bought the GP cd thinking they were part of the Wu but gave it away when I found out they were not part of Wu-Tang Clan and just piggy backing the name because Wu was blowing up then. GP admits this. I lost total respect for GP after they put out a RZA diss track called Wu-Tang Pork Chops, so lame. 6:26 "I deliberately went against the gain." , first GP album "Don't go against the grain"... smh Shyheim is and will always be part of the Wu-Tang Clan, he actually rocked the W in his first video, second album in sleeve rocked a Wu-Tang hoodie, made sure to have a RZA track on his first two albums, his third album was on Wu-Tang Records, a Wu-All Star, on the Swarm album, etc. Shyheim earned his right to rock that W. Note, Prince Rakeem "Sexapades: Wu-Tang Mix" released '91. Wu-Tang Clan "Protect Ya Neck" released '92, Shyheim "On and On' released '93. Ive listened to wutang for almost 30 years and am from staten island, pop and the whole stapleton side is considered wu to the real wu fans at the very least. I had all these albums and singles. Pop is def wu cause hes shouted out on 36 chambers as such, and i consider him “more wu” than guys like say black knights, lord superb, etc. pop/gp/rns is part of the foundational layer of wutang. Whether u wan count it or not its upto you but I count him and always represent. If the clan didnt exist, and it was just the beez, pop would be in the method man spot imo.
