I am selling these on StyleForum classifieds and Grailed. These are on the Barrie last, but for some reason they seem to fit smaller than other Alden Barrie lasted boots. I replaced them with the next size which is better for my feet.
I also have a pair of Finsbury boots that separates at the welt although the stitching holds perfectly, it is from years of wear in regular wet and humid weather (Singapore) that the soles get soaked enough that the glue went away. Thats why almost everyone Topy up their leather soles here.
I'm interested in hearing about your experience with having yours repaired. I have found the separation in the very same spot on both boots (same style and material by JCrew). JCrew has offered to refund the purchase amount and Alden has offered to repair them. If the repair doesn't fix the prob, I will have wished I got the refund... I will look for your StyleForum post. Hey Gregory, Great video. I just ordered those boots in a size 12, although I am a natural 12. The size 12 was only size available. I was going to ask if you still have your 11.5 for sale. I'm not sure if the size 12 I'm getting will fit right, and would like to send them back if not and maybe purchase the 11.5 boots from you. Let me know if you've still got them, or if you posted them on a website for me look at. Thanks!
Anthony Martin I currently do still have them available, which you can find on grailed.com. It really depends on your toe box shape. The length is fine, but the toe box is too tapered for me personally.
your video worries me as I just bought a pair that I got a half size down based upon reviews that they run a half size big. Wondering if it will fit me, I have flat feet.
Alden claims these are built on the same Barrie last, but I have several standard Barrie lasted boots and can say that the J Crew version is smaller. I think they use a half-size smaller last. Many people online, on styleforum and /r/goodyearwelt agree. My advice is to not size down.
