Tristan i need your help!! Im about to buy those boots from ebay! ( note that i never had alden before). Soo i wear 11US Also the boots are 11. But i wanna know if they are gonna be comfortable!! I dont like when my feet are spacious up front of my toes!! Should i get 10.5? What do u suggest? Thank you!
A last is a form (as of metal or plastic) which is shaped like a foot and over which a shoe is shaped or repaired. Barrie is the name of the particular last this boot was made on
If you don't mine me ask, how much toe room do you have in front of your toe? I have a pair of very similar Alden boot, and I have about an inch of room in front of my toes. The width feels fine. Whats your opinion? Thanks!
I must say ur very knowledgeable about boots. Uv made me aware of certain facts and I might become a boot enthusiast myself. Also, id like to know where did you get that brand od boot stretcher from?
with my claf skin shoes, the tips of the soles used to wear out so i would replace just the tips with a piece of leather that blended in with the rest of the sole, done by the shoemaker. are cordovan leather soles much different from calf in terms of life expectancy? i used to have to do this every few months.
Tristan, those boots look great. I thought under the barrie last they would loot clunky but they don't. I noticed you used a shoehorn, how are the heels on the barrie last boot, are they wobbly at all compared to the longwings? Can you post a video on the color 8 nst boot if you have it?
Just ordered some barrie cordovan wingtips from UnionMade yesterday, but a bit unsure about the size. (I don't have them yet... will pick them up in June when I go home to the US for vacation) Are yours the same size as your Indy boots? I have Indy chromexcel boots in size 8, and they fit perfectly now after they stretched a bit (a little snug at first). So I went with 8.5 for the for the cordovan wingtips, based on recommendations from someone else who's had experience with this. I was worried about the fact that cordovan won't stretch like the chromexcel did, so I went half a size up. Just curious if you have an opinion on that...
Tristan, after owning these boots for a while, what are your opinions of this with a navy or charcoal suit? Would they be appropriate enough for business wear? Really looking into these as a dress boot.
Thanks for the reply! I may go that route - looking to get a pair mostly for jeans and I don't know if these cap toe boots are as well suited for jeans.
Great video and review. I'm thinking about getting the exact same boot, but as many others, I'm a little bit unsure about sizing. Usually I would go with a true size 8,5, but my feet are a bit wider thank usual, so, I'm not sure which to order, size 8 og 8,5 (like you have yourself). What do you think depending on your experience?
I'm fine with an 8D myself although I recommend you buy both and keep the one that fits you best and return the other one. You can return it to any J Crew local store.
Hi Tristan, Great content. Can you post another video in recent time. I want to see how they age. Currently in the market for a pair of Alden Indy Cordovan 8. Would be really cool. Thanks buds! Keep up the great work. By the way, to all the haters, these are on the Barrie last.
Turbalance is slightly wider. There is a cordovan color 8 in Trubalance Indy boot, but it's rare and can be difficult to find. Check out LeatherSoulHawaii . com site
those are sick. But I think you need, and i say this with all due respect, you need to up your jean game to do them justice. Buy something a little more slim,
