Great as always! Oh and btw, maybe if you start with the watch reviews that some suggested in previous videos you will increase your audience exponentially since the watch reviews channels have tons of followers. But if you do, keep the shoes reviewes/updates/comparisons and general talk coming, we love them! Cheers from Mexico!
I'm sorry to hear that RU-vid is threatening to shut you down! I've so enjoyed your videos and have learned a lot about shoes and their care from you! Many dad always wore boots and he always polished my boots for me. My mom and dad both believed in buying quality footwear over quantity and using a good cobbler. Since they have both passed away, they would be surprised that our city has fewer and fewer cobblers. We are down to one now, that also deals with horse tack. We are in horse country here. I've discovered that even some of the better quality shoes are now using sole material that cannot be resoled. It is pretty disheartening. I think that men's shoes that are good quality are easier to find than women's shoes that are good quality. I do hope RU-vid will not shut you down!
Kathryn Pasteur thanks! I don’t think they are shutting me down, I just got an email about needing 1000 subs for something, honestly I’m not quite sure. I assume the old vids stay up, it probably is something about advertising or something.
That's ridiculous! Your channel is amazing. Also agree with Rogelio Valenzuela's comment about expanding into watch reviews, worth considering. Regardless, you're almost at 1000 subs!
yeah, it's only if you want to monetise your videos you need 1000 subs. Otherwise you're fine posting vids they just won't be monetised until you reach 1000 subs.
Hello thank you for the video, its been very helpful. I just got this exact pair, and it mentions that you shouldn't wear these boots consecutively. I was wondering if you have worn them for days in a row, and if so, has there been any adverse effects? Thanks!
I own an Alden double oak leather sole cap toe medallion blucher. As of now I am scared of wearing them in rain and I wish I had opted for a double water lock or commando sole. However I was surprised you had no problem using your boots with a double oak sole during winter and rain for a few years. Am i overly protecting my shoes?
you sir are the only one i have seen, do a true long term review on some shell boots, a very big thanks. on that subject is all shell the same? or is there different quality's of shell? just dont want to buy shell thinking i am getting a good deal and find out i got "crap" shell.
Keep up the good work 'Dad' ( even though we sound and are probably around the same age ). I don't believe it's you in peticular they're coming down on. From what I understand , RU-vid is a losing deal for Google financially speaking. Before it was bought by Google it was a win/win deal. I know people will find it hard to believe, but it's what I am told by some people better in the know than me. They are adding paid extras for subsribers now.
Enjoy your vids a lot! I got a question actually. You were saying that these boots are your rain boots. So is it like, you wear these to the office and change to dry dress shoes or do you wear them to work in rainy days? (Just wondering how other people deal with the rainy days...
Is the toe cap of your boots duller and rougher compared to the rest of the boot? Also, did your boots lighten over time? I just got a pair, and mine look so much darker than yours.
On my pair, the toecaps are the most shiny part. And yes, they have significantly lightened over time. Enjoy yours, they will continue to look better and better with age and wear!
The Cordovan is actually all the same, coming from the same factory. However, it is finished differently. Alden and AE dye it a different, darker color, which wears off over time. Then, the color changes to its natural color, which is more brownish. In my experience Crockett and Jones does not dye the Cordovan, opting instead to just put a shiny finish on.
Interesting question. I hadn’t really thought of that, but I suppose if soon my wife would do something with them. Perhaps later down the road, I might have a family member or in-law that might enjoy them. I am low 40’s so I hope it is a long ways off.
Thanks for another informative video. You provide valuable information in a very succinct, professional manner. I had no idea that signing up as a “subscriber” was beneficial to the producer. Having said that, I just subscribed to your Channel which is my one and only RU-vid Subscription. I hope you get to the minimum subscription threshold soon. Just a thought, perhaps you can ask viewers to subscribe, in much the same manner as you did in this video. Good luck!
@@daddyosreviews Thanks for the reply, but I was unclear. Do you use a shoe horn, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoehorn, when putting your boots on? Is there a risk of damaging the counter of a boot without using a shoe horn or is that only an issue with oxfords, bluchers, and loafers?
