Because they don’t have a chip on their shoulders. Soldiers know that it is their duty to support and protect civvies, cops forgot that a long, long time ago.

The armed forces work for the same elites the police do. They aren't here to stop the uk getting invaded....They are being used to steal oil, diamonds, land and other assets for the elite....That's why the USA went into Vietnam, diamonds for the elite. That's why the British empire went into Africa and India (Diamonds, gold and tea). We are not in danger of being invaded and the troops don't serve king and country.....

I hope the Sgt actually reads these comments as he seemed very polite but understandably interested and concerned. Clearly he was fishing for information but at the same time he was friendly in his approach. Its really funny how different forces act so very differently in how they interact with you. Police: 9 times out of 10 they jump at you full attack. This instantly makes them look bad. Fire: 9 times out of 10 it looks like they want to just bring you inside and give you a cup of tea. Military seem very hit and miss. Some just want you to go away, others seem to want to have a chat.
REME Sgt was cool. He should train the Police, they are so scared all of the time. And Paranoid. Most police wanted to join the Army, but their Mums wouldn't let them. 😀❤️💕
The only place where "I arrived by parachute" phrase can't be used - at the parachute training regiment. They'd get you to prove it and take you up in a plane and throw you out and see if you can really parachute. :-)
My namesake without an e, that sgt was the true professional, think he truly upstaged ab, what we need more of, good guys who are open, and conversational friendly, unlike the pc jerks with egos to prove for having small members, taking their egos and frustration out on law abiding guys
Yet again a brilliant post and the guy in the glass box was a nice guy and understood what you were doing same with guy at the end... Happy to chat and gave lots of helpful information in a non intrusive way... top man the guy at the end... even gave a heads up on open days.... lots of respect to these guys and what they do... even if the people they doing it for are bad people... the soldiers are just trying to do the right thing.... I'm from a military family and know only to well what this world is like to live in as a kid growing up....
Very friendly Sergeant and at the same time making sure you were not a threat. Very clever, using all his skills taught in the Army I presume. He showed that you can access risk without being rude, obnoxious or offensive.
Good man AB, love the varied content but especially love the MoD vids as they are usually a lot more varied in the responses you get than the usual police drones.

10:15 Getting pretty close to an unlawful detention. AB tells him that he's going to continue on his way and the guard makes a demand. He probably has authorisation since the place is likely to be within his remit, but I'm not 100% sure.
Being from Aldershot the roads are definitely owned by the mod because they have rails with the council over how much the mod pay and how much the council pay. Even need mod permission to put diversion routes down that road at end with the Sargent
Luckily we live in a country so tolerant. Can’t see too many Middle Eastern countries being so accommodating if you were filming their military establishments.

Not always a fan of military audits. But you did this with respect and responsibility, whilst remaining assertive but with humour. Nice one AB your a star. 👍
@JustDev . Yes, but they didn't sign up for a roll interacting with the public. Neither do they have the training for this, or the specialist knowledge of the law. So let's cut them some slack, as I think AB did. The police do expect this as part of their roll and get the training to deal with the public and the law. Although this is extremely difficult to believe in the majority of cases !!!
Aldershot Garrison was most probably held as the last memories of home for many, many young people who fought the spread of fascism in our world and paid with their lives. As a local, I give massive respect to our Serving soldiers and to AB for the genuine silent respect you paid to all those people today, alive and passed..
The Uk government was the ones spreading fascism,Judy like the police of today are completely unaware what they serve and for what agenda.the powers that be in this country have always been the same and have had the same agenda.
This may not be a popular opinion with your fanbase but I think you let yourself down with this one. Mocking a Gurkha who’s second language is English was poor bordering on nasty. The squaddie chatting to you was a great guy. But you saying you shouldn’t be scared of anyone etc was bad taste. Remember lee rigby? These guys are on high alert these days more than ever. Imagine if your footage was used by terrorists to identify one of them to be attacked like lee rigby? How would you feel? Really no need to show their faces. These guys have families just like anyone else.
AB you should definitely visit Germany. I’ve only ever been to Berlin but the general public made me feel more like I was walking through a quiet English village. Polar opposite to London
