As an ex soldier I am shocked that soldiers would approach a member of the public and try to detain them and harass them when they have no legal right to behave like that. I am guessing that they are physical training instructors and have too much testosterone running through them! If you really are ex-mil, then you will know that camp security is provided by MGS, who have no powers outside the wire. Nor should they. A simple call to the Guard Room and a follow up job for the civvy police at best. If active personnel want to engage with civvies that’s their own decision. But I wouldn’t even bother TBH.
They were suspicious, not 'upset '. They had, however misguided, security concerns. They may not know how to talk to civvies but they were doing what they consider is their duty. AB actually got it right. The guys at the front were “clearly military” because as AB said “they were fit”. But the guy lagging at the back clearly wasn’t. AB jested that he must be “a police officer”, which was actually quite funny.

Recording in public is a right and has proven many times to be of use in situations of abuse by authorities who try and interpret the laws in a way to cover their illegalities

Not being in the army but wearing his brothers army top and going running near an army bases behind some real army people. Perhaps he should be careful about that. It's a regular thing in the army to run in public, as I recall we usually ran the route around the base in Aldershot. We would've likely flashed if AB was filming 🤪

@@geoff9759 Officers and SNCOs are educated in military law. They do not receive any training in civil law which will, in any case, vary between whichever country they are deployed. For example, privacy laws in Germany restrict filming in public much more than in the UK.
