This double pie maker comes under different names ie "quest" "holsten" "gormet" is the model I purchased found the pies take 6 minutes, brush the bottom pie crust with milk so the top lid does'nt part company when lifting the pie out is what happen a couple of times, glues it better
I assume that was short crust pastry. But what did the pies taste like? Could pies be made with a short crust base and a puff pastry lid? In another video about a similar pie maker, someone made hash browns with it!
Yes, it was shortcrust I used in the video. I’m pretty sure pies can be made with mixed pastries and might give it a try. That’s interesting. We haven’t made anything but pies in ours but it is effectively just a little oven. Thanks for stopping by.
I think this machine is a fail. For what it does, I would rather bake my pies from scratch, as you have to precook the ingredients anyway for this machine.
Total landfill. Does not heat or cook pies inside and smoke billows from poor sealing. Junk. Did a second batch, left in for 45 mins, used about 50,000 carbon credits, rubbish
That’s a shame, I wonder if you have a faulty one. Ours works great. You can’t use raw foods and have to use pre cooked meats and vegetables. I use shortcrust pastry and chilled chicken and veg which are precooked in advance. In about 15 minutes I have golden pies with a very hot filling. If you still have the receipt you should return it for an exchange or refund.
