True 80s classic that's still in my music library and played & enjoyed quite often. Great to see that they're still doing well and rockin it to the masses in 24.
No disputing that Aldo Nova was a rock sensation in the 80s with Fantasy and also Monkey On Your Back- but as far as mainstream, he was pretty much a one (or two) hit wonder. Still a great song tho!
Every time I hear this song, it brings me back to a particular day in the mid 80's when I was getting and giving my first hickeys with a certain girl! Good Shit!
I saw Aldo and his band perform this song in the late 70's opening for Aerosmith. I was highly impressed. I of course bought the album the next day. I hit and you have a great job for life if you don't screw it up. He was smart enough to get away from the powdered pleasure and other drugs after he lost his special person.
@@darcypearson2606yeah both the bass player and second guitarist are annoying with there excessive hair flipping. Aldo is great though. Both those guys, especially the bassist, need to be a little less cliched with their stage behaviour.
I was a So. Californian stationed in Biloxi MS when this came out. I had a Toyota truck with a camper shell (aka mobile party hut) and my 6 buddies and I drove down to Orlando and Daytona at night. We played it practically non-stop all the way down just from all the radio stations along the way. That was the defining song of the early 80's.
His first album was good. Fantasy was a great song back then. Remember mtv played it almost every hour on the hour. It looks he pulled his current lineup out of the crowd. Lol.
Seen them back in 82 warmed up for blue oyster cult and iron maiden hell of a good time yeah guess that kind of shows my age but it was good time good friends and the best music
Isn't he related to Bon Jovi...I remember buying that cassette when it came out and jamming it in my Duster in a Pioneer stereo...2 RadioShack eq's and Jenson 6x9's...😉
The first concert I had ever seen. I was 12 years old and our local fair had Aldo Nova and Blue Oyster Cult. The show sold out and you want to talk about packed. The place was filled with BOC fans but everyone appreciated how hard Aldo Nova rocked. I still remember how nuts everyone went when the giant Godzilla rose from behind the stage with its red eyes blowing smoke and fire.
Remember the song in my Hay Day brings back memories of me and my cousin... The days we gotten fist fights and an an Aldo used to be able to sing specially monkey on my back.... Which kind of remind me of a Pink Floyd song
Great song and good to see this band still getting out there making it happen but they need a new sound board guy that knows how to mix and I also got a sneaking feeling the venue is bad on acoustics
I remember in English class way back when we all had to write a poem… and this one girl was reading hers. …It sounded familiar and then I realized it was one of Aldo Nova songs ball and chain…. I always patted myself on the back for not saying anything.

That’s because they’re basically a completely different band now without Tate, DeGarmo and Rockenfield. Just not the same chemistry… Whip and Eddie replaced them with talented replacement musicians (no doubt) but it’s just not the same without them.
He released Aldo Nova 2.0 in 2018, The Life and Times of Eddie Gage in 2021 (All New Music), Reloaded 2.0 in 2022 and Short Stories in 2022. He's currently working on new music to be released (6 Songs finished) whenever he decides to and finishes.
Great Song BUT, it is too bad that you went backwards on your drummer. He is a ONE TRICK PONY building his fills off of the only fill he knows. Ruined your band. Best of Wishes to you though.

I must say he isn't playing his Aldo Nova Les Paul,, probably doesn't want to get it stolen does guitars are rare.... Maybe he's just playing his second guitar too just curious.
