I read about the Fusion combining different sound algorithm which drag my attention. After listen your custom patches I decided to buy a Fusion, but seems it's not easy to find one. PS: Many thanks that you like my channel :-)

Yes, the Fusion is awesome. A very powerful & underrated synth, IMO. The Ion/Micron are also pretty sweet. The QuadraSynth & QSR are pretty cool, too. Their biggest flaw is the lack of a resonance filter, but you can still create some pretty cool sounds with them. I really miss Alesis. (I mean the old Alesis, pre-2001 bankruptcy....when they made synths)

Recently I started playing around with them, (the free ones) & I found an awesome free software synth called "Aethereal". It's an ambient vector synth. It's great for ambient music & soundscapes. About other VSTs - I don't know much about this stuff, I checked some and the best I liked Absynth, Serum and Alchemia, they are really great. But anyway I like hardware more.. Yes, I got a new toy, the Kawai K5000R, finaly :) Checked a little bit (coz short of time) and I'm sure - this is exactly I expected, amazing synth with 128 pole (!!!) filters and 2000 parameters per patch! I also finished "Insanity 3" track, just need to put some pictures on video so I hope to publish it soon. Everything else is fine, Best Regards and be on touch!

You got a Kawai K5000R?? Sweet!!! 😀 The K5000 is a very unique & interesting synth! It's on my "to get" list of synths. (but I think I might rather have the 5000S) I've read it's a very challenging & intricate synth to program & the factory presets are not very good. (but I'm sure you'll create some awesome custom patches of your own. 😉) Personally I also prefer hardware synths over software synths. But software synths are also pretty cool. It's like having free synths. 😏 Like you, I also don't know a lot about software synths. I just tinker with them & fiddle around. But I can tell you what I do know. You need a "Host", to run them. "SAVIHost" (which I use) is a free, bare-bones, stripped down host. No DAW, no sequencer, no effects plug-ins, etc. You just start it & then open a software synth. (they're usually .dll files) Just put SAVIHost & the software synths in the same folder. I don't know if you have a USB Audio Interface? I assume you do, because you've recorded "Insanity", Morpheus demo, etc? (I look forward to hearing "Insanity 3" BTW!) I really think you will like Aethereal. It seems perfect for the type of music you like to make. It's probably my favorite softsynth. (& the most interesting I've yet used) BTW, here is a link for SAVIHost. Thanks. I'm glad you like the demo & I hope you enjoy the patches, The Fusion really is an awesome synth. (one of my favorites) I've never tried PC sequencing. I've always used hardware workstations for sequencing. I do mess around with software synths & VSTi. Do you use any softsynths or VSTi?

@@gjc82071 Yeah, in conjunction with a bit of hardware synths. I just realized that I could integrate VST stuff with my hardware so much better in my DAW (Studio One) than the way I grew up doing it (recording workstation into ACID and putting VSTs on different MIDI channels). But I still don't know nearly as much as I need to.

@@TroyBlackford I have Studio One but never installed it. I got Studio One CD/DVDs with my VSL44 & 16.4.2 mixer. My VSL44 was stolen a few years back. (still have the mixer) Now I have a USB96 & a ZOOM R16 Interface/DAW controller/hardware recorder. I like experimenting with softsynths & hardware, like layering them with hardware synths, or running them through hardware effects processors. I like softsynths but IMO many of them sound the same....or like....they sound more like different patches on the same synths more than they sound like totally different synths. (perhaps because when you run softsynths on a PC, you're running them all on the SAME hardware) That's why I like running them through hardware processors. It adds warmth, character, and uniqueness to their sound. I've noticed that not a lot of people do it, probably because you need 2 audio interfaces, or 1 interface + 1 hardware recorder. (1 interface to run the softsynth, send the signal to processor, then send the signal from the processor to a 2nd interface or recorder) I plan to make a softsynths + hardware processors demo, eventually. PS: I'd really like to try to use DAWs but have zero experience. Maybe I can install Studio One and if I have any questions, perhaps you could help?

@@gjc82071 I have had it for some weeks. I think its awesome. Really powerful instrument. I have started to learn all the engines, the sampler is next in line. I am especially impressed by the FM engine, I own a Montage which offers the most powerful FM engine of any workstation synth, but the freely routable operators of the Fusion makes it very unique and precise. I think it can stand on its own against the FM-X engine of the Montage and the Mod-7 engine of the Kronos.

@@snuppssynthchannel Yes, the Fusion has an excellent FM engine which is on par with the Montage & MOD-7. The Fusion's Modulation Matrix is also incredibly powerful. (one of the most powerful I've ever seen on ANY synth) Sampling is kinda weird. Using the Fusion to sample is pretty straightforward, but the Fusion uses a proprietary type of sample. So if you want to import .wav, .aiff, etc, you must use Fusion Creator™ PC software. (& you can't save the converted samples using the free version. The Fusion is an awesome synth. You'll love it. It's quite powerful. It has multiple synth engines (sample based, analog modeling, FM, some physical modeling) & the Mod Matrix is massive. Thanks so much. The Fusion is a very cool & unique sounding synth. I'm sorry no longer have yours. 😢 I could never part with mine. After I purchase all the synths on my "to get" list, I'd like to pick up a 2nd Fusion as a backup.

I finally got a Fusion 8HD that is pretty beaten up and I paid too much for it but it dies work perfectly. I then bought a Fusion 6HD! Just upgraded the RAM and put a 128GB SSD in so happy as Larry now ;-)

I copied the "user" program, mix, sample & multisample folders & put them in a zipped file. The programs should sound fine. Most of the mixes use custom programs from the user bank, but a few of the mixes use 3rd party programs from different banks. I don't know if, how, or where the Fusion saves that 3rd party program data, for mixes,....so a few of the mixes might sound incomplete. But again, the programs should be fine, as well as most of the mixes. Enjoy.

I also have a " synths to get list" & it's been slow for me, too. It really slowed down after I had to relocate, and my rent is now more than twice what I was paying at the old place, and I also have other new expenses now that I didn't have before. 😟 All that means I have less money to save now, for new synths. 😢 What are some of the synths on your list? My list is: DSI REV2, Novation Peak, Korg Prologue, Roland System-8. (I'd love a Modal Electronics 008 &/or 002, but they're just too expensive) There are only 2 more "vintage" synths I'd like to get, (Roland JX-10p/MKS70 & Oberheim 6/6r/1000) If/when I get those, I'm done buying vintage synths because they're getting to expensive, and also harder & harder to repair/service. What are the 2 synths you need to get fixed? Actually my Fusion needs a minor repair. The volume knob/pot is messed up. Also, the tip of a headphones adapter broke off, up inside the headphone jack on my Kurzweil PC3K. 😖

gjc82071 i know the feeling, it’s financially a bit of a struggle for me too, also with relocation. I would love to get another Roland Juno 60, Jd800 and Jupiter 6. I had these but unfortunately had to sell them as I got into some financial trouble, it was heartbreaking, however that was a long time ago and things better now. I have a Roland Sh101 which has sadly been in storage for some years and everything crackles and the sliders will probably need replacing, I also have an Akai Ax73 Synth which also probably needs a service tho still powers up and makes sound. As much as I love them, they are difficult to get parts and find a decent engineer to do the work. I have the red original Korg karma, would like a Kronos and I’m almost on the verge of getting a used Oasys, will be happy with that for the time being but I I love your vid of the recent save smith and blofeld. That’s it for now. Ha

That’s why I like your clip of the korg moss board as I want one to go in the karma which is version 2.0. Think it would be great, however, when I think I have enough, another expense always seems to pop up, be it car repairs, bills etc grrrr 😡

(El A6 Andrómeda arruinó a Alesis) Alesis was purchased by InMusic (who also purchased Akai) and no longer make innovative products like they did in the 1980s & 1990s. (Alesis fue comprada por InMusic (quien también compró Akai) y ya no fabrica productos innovadores como lo hacían en las décadas de 1980 y 1990.)

Actually it does sound kinda like a "Dark version of an Harpsichord". To be honest, I can't remember what I did. I'm pretty sure I used the analog modeling engine. (& not the sample based engine) A lot of times I just edit existing patches & I keep tweaking & tweaking them until they sound cool. Like there's a patch on my Behringer Deepmind 12 demo.....initially it was a short percussive "Hand Clap", but by the time I was done tweaking it....I had transformed it into a huge lush pad. Thanks for the comment. 🙂 BTW, do you have an Alesis Fusion? (it's such an awesome synth)

Thanks, Ivan. The Alesis Fusion is a great synth. Very underrated in my opinion. It's quite powerful & has a very unique sound. I make my patches by experimenting, tweaking & customizing pre-existing patches. Like for example, I will start with a standard factory "Strings" patch, then I will change the waveform, change the filter setting, envelope settings, LFO, effects processors, etc. I only just recently started messing around with VST/software synths, so No, I have never referenced sounds from VST sounds, to make my patches. There are some very cool VST/software synths. In the future I do plan to reference sounds from VST sounds. Also, I am currently in the process of making a short VST/software synth demo video. :-)

You will LOVE the PC3. It's one of the best synths EVER, and the KDFX effect processors are the BEST of ANY synth. PC3/K is in a different class than any other synth I own, or have ever heard. It's a beast! Feel free to ask any questions when you get your PC3. :-)

That person never replied to tell me they didn't work/load, so I'm assuming they were able to install them & assuming you should be able to install them, too. Enjoy. 😊
