Great reaction! This is an absolutely magnificent version…but if you truly want to experience the magical vocal harmonies of Dany, Pau and Ale you need to see the live performance at Teatro Metropolitan. Dany, of course is amazing but Pau’s harmonies are so much more pronounced and spot on. Also, Dany’s vocals hit much harder.

Pau sings lead on several of their songs. Her voice has a nice contrast to Dany's, which makes for great harmonies, but at times they can sound nearly alike - a sister thing. Ale rarely sings lead, only live whenever Dany or Pau have vocal issues because they are ill. But there are videos out there and when it happens it is a specialty thing. Some Pau lead vocal songs: Dust to Dust, Narciststa (a song in Spanish), Breathe, 23, Revenant, and The End. There is a video of Pau singing lead on Money at a radio station in studio performance while they were on tour.

This was filmed in Mexico during the pandemic, while Alessia was stuck in Canada, so she was filmed there and the projected her into the background. Also there is a live performance of this from the Teatro Metropolitan on their RU-vid channel.

Hi there :) The Warning took the song apart in like a week and had to communicate with Alessia online, the video was shot in an old derelict factory outside of Monterey, Mexico ( as far as I know ). Since Alessia couldn't travel due to Covid restrictions, she was projected onto the walls for the video shot. Taking on a song so iconic, even though their original cover from 2014 got viral and they were invited to the Ellen Show, is hard to do. They took the song apart and made them their own, now it's a super creepy bednight story/poem. And to show everyone that they are hard enough to play the original, that's what you get at the end. While I love the creepiness of the music video, the live version from last year at the Tietro Metropolitan is way better, harder and shows off their harmonies. The only time they played it live together with Alessia was at one of the LA shows last year.

The Warning have SO much good music now. Next, you may want to hear 'Disciple', either the official video or the live in Mexico version, as Dany and Pau trade off the lead vocal role.

This is just so good but the live version is 🤯 Alessia was a very interesting artist to get them to work with, it brought the best out of them I think! To say that they only had 10 days, Alessia was in Canada during lockdown so they could only communicate via Skype, it’s an amazing achievement!

It was the height of the pandemic. Alessia was in Canada and couldn’t travel to be with them. Video was shot in an abandoned textile mill south of Monterrey, Mexico. The live performance in the Teatro Metropolitan last august is perfection! All three sisters can sing lead. Dany does about ⅔ of songs with Pau doing about ⅓ and Ale filling in when her sisters are having voice difficulties. They are so attuned to each other, that when one stumbles on the lyrics another can pick up where the other left off without the audience noticing!

The first song of theirs I saw was the live "Dust To Dust" at Lunario (2018) featuring drummer Pau on lead vocals. I didn't know at the time she wasn't their only vocalist, and she was great at singing while beating the crap out of her drums.

you should absolutely do one of the live videos they released from the CDMX show! dany’s voice is a different kind of power live; disciple and dust to dust are great ones if you want to see both her and pau pop off. martirio is also a really good one if you want to hear what they sound like in their native language, but it’ll probably make you cry (in a good way, seeing them get emotional during the performance was so sweet). the live version of this is also amazing, dany’s range is nuts!

It was done at the invitation of Metallica for their Blacklist album celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia is a projection because she was in Canada while The Warning was in Mexico. Because of when it was and the travel restrictions at the time this is what they could do. The video was a bit later but the song had to be recorded and mixed then delivered to Metallica in 10 days. By alphabetical order this wound up as track 1 on the Blacklist album.

I highly recommend reacting to the warning's original viral cover they did of Enter Sandman from 2014. Ale was just 9 years old, Pau was 12 and Dany 14, and it will really give you context as to how far they have come as musicians. They have a very inspiring story for young women in music.

This song is very important in the warnings history.the original cover they did in 2014 went viral and got them fully committed to being a band and never looking back.from song writing to opening for big bands and putting albums out has been a journey.

I forget which video I saw of theirs first, but I was hooked. Any and everything they've put out, from very young to their current European tour, I'm eager to watch. As someone who got his first tastes of rock music back in the late sixties, these young ladies kick ass. I highly recommend checking out every thing they put out.

You need to do something live as The Warning is much better live. I went to the last concert of their European tour in London a week ago and it was fantastic. Pick any song that was recorded at the Teatro Metropolitan last summer. ‘Disciple’ is a good choice as Dany and Pau trade lead vocals.

All the videos from the Teatro Metropolitan show are a must watch. The Warning doesn't do filler songs. Their entire catalog is amazing. By the way, they just returned from Europe and are on a small break but will be in Montreal on Aug 12 and Toronto on Aug 13. Montreal might be sold out but i think there are some resale tickets available. Those are headlining show and worth the cost and travel time. Would highly recommend going. Been looking forward to you getting back to The Warning. Keep them coming.

Great to see you reacting to more from The Warning! I love their arrangement of this song, and I've listened to the live version so many times. I do like the music video as well though. Pau's prayer and the reprisal towards the end, to me, perfectly creates the feeling of dread right before a dream turns into a nightmare. Metallica wrote the lyrics, but this interpretation, I feel, really connects the music to them in a way that the original lacked. I think you might like seeing some of their live performances too. The teatro metropolitan videos are great, especially if you'd like to see more of Pau and Ale singing, or even a more aggressive style of singing from Dany. Disciple and Dust to Dust are great for that. Anyways, I'm glad I got to see the premiere, thank you for the video and hope everyone has a great day.

With almost 50 originals, over 10 years as a band, have already done a World tour, have played alongside with many major artists on the largest stages, and the oldest is 23, that in itself is amazing, but they are just getting started. They all sing, and each have sung leads. Pau sings lead on about 20% of their songs, as she smashes that poor kit. They are all Classically trained Pianists starting at 4-5 yrs old. They each write their own songs, but mostly write together. The insightful bond they share on/off stage, they call it sibling magic, as they just click together automatically. This magic really shines on stage, as they are a studio quality live band, and a must see to understand this. All the comments in the world won't shine a light to actually witnessing them yourself. Like their hit song "MORE" says... We know you Love it! 🤘⚡🤘

Massive fan of The Warning. Got to go see them for the first time a week ago. Great to hear their version of this with Dany on vox instead of Alessia. Worth checking out their songs with just them. Of course this is also the song that brought the sisters to public awareness when they covered it as kids. Fucking awesome band and amazing live. Disciple is probably my fave song by them as it was really my introduction to the bands own material and Dany and Pau share vocals on that.

Fun fact: The Warning filmed this vid at an abandoned factory in Mexico. Alessia filmed her part in Italy while visiting her grandparents. They merged the two together by projecting Alessia's vid on the factory walls.

The live Tietro Metropolitan version is even better. They take it in even another direction. And their harmonizing is absolutely fantastic. And trust me, they have no bad songs. Your reaction was great.

Wow! You got so excited by Pau doing the prayer! Many others have recommended songs in which she is lead vocalist, or co-vocalist with Dany. Dust to Dust and Narcacista are the benchmarks, Survive and Disciple for both of them. But…… she did a cover during the pandemic, via online request from fans, with 2 or 4 hours to practice. Its Radiohead’s Creep and it is simply amazing! And do not stop watching until the very, very end!!

As those before me have said, anything from their Teatro Metropolitan show is amazing. My personal fav's being, "Animosity," "Matirio," "Dust to Dust," and "Disciple."

I know I recommended this one in the comments for your "Choke" reaction, but I probably wasn't the only one :) A couple of years ago Metallica put out the "Blacklist" album, where like 50 artists each covered one of the tracks from the Black Album(lots of songs got picked by multiple artists, obviously). For each track, half the proceeds when to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation, and half went to a charity of the artist's choice. This cover of Sandman was definitely my favorite track on the album, along with Volbeat's cover of "Don't Tread On Me, The Hu's cover of "Through The Never", Jon Pardi's take on "Wherever I May Roam" and Darius Rucker's BEAUTIFUL rendition of "Nothing Else Matters".

They recently uploaded a few live performances from Mexico's Metropolitan Theatre and "Enter Sandman" was included. Pau also has a bunch of lead vocals out there: from their recent album she sings "Revenant", "Breathe" and "23" (I highly recommend this last one). Also they uploaded "Dust to Dust" live which is another of Pau's lead vocals from before the "Error" album.

So there is a radio morning show performance of “Money” where Pau sings in place of Dani because she was needing to save her voice for the show they would be doing that night, and of course there is also “Narcisista” where Pau takes lead You’ve also already done choke, however, the live studio recording of it, has Ale fully doing a part instead of backing with Dani together, worthwhile to take a peak at. (Also Pau’s drum fills and scream in “Evolve”, priceless)

PLEASE PLEASE watch their live version. I went from thinking it’s very risky to cover such an iconic song, to midway thru when Paulina takes over lead vocals thinking it’s one of the greatest I’ve ever seen! Dany is great, and Paulina is captivating

Alessia Cara lives in Canada and The Warning live in Mexico so they couldn't get together because of Covid so Alessia recorded her part in Canada and The Warning in Mexico and it was the same with The Video, but I think in 2022 they did get together on stage at the Troubadour in LA and they played this song.

Figuring out what to recommend next is the problem - they have so many good songs. Dust to Dust, Martirio, and Error are the three that pop to the top of my brain. Also, Pau did a cover of Radiohead's "Creep" that is my favorite version of the song.

Ideally Enter Sandman & The Warning should be a review with 3 songs - 2014 cover that went viral with 24+ million views hitherto (14, 12 & 9 years old) - this official release in 2021 (21, 19 & 16) - live version of this reimagination from Teatro Metropolitan on 29th Aug 2022 The above sequence showcases their development as artists, as individuals. Alessia Cara was projected on the wall because the video was shot during covid with the girls in Mexico & Cara in Canada. Quite a few big names covered ES in Metallica's Black List. Only DPA had the creativity, courage & conviction to think out of the box. The rest got stuck within the iconic riff & arrangement of the song. This is not a cover but a reimagination of the original. Like Clapton did for Dylan's Knocking on Heaven's Door. i agree with Devon of Lava Records when she says that The Warning are not a girl band or a family band - they are a rock band. As others have already told you Pau is a bonafide lead vocalist and have sung about 25% of their songs including her soulful ballads on keyboards. You should react to Dust to Dust released recently from the same Teatro Metropolitan concert. Finally, dive into their rabbit hole that is more than a decade long to their classical piano playing days as 6 - 8 year olds. The most intellectual rock band to emerge in decades won't disappoint you with their inspiring journey from the basement of their home to recently playing in stadiums & prestigious fests of Europe & selling out headlining concerts in UK, Germany & Spain.

I just want to add when the 3 TW silhouettes appear in slow motion they look great but I must say that Ale's silhouette is the one that looks impressive. Probably the Warning’s best live performance was back home n Mexico. During an interview, a reporter called them out for singing almost entirely in English, as opposed to their native Spanish. So Pau, who writes most of their original music, wrote “Narcisista” just for her. (Pau took it as an affront against Dany and Ale.) So Beto Ranos, her drum teacher, sat in so Pau could focus on singing lead. Notice that the crowd knows all the lyrics and Pau has them singing.

I really do enjoy your reactions, Ray-Chill. This amazing collaboration is what I would have recommended for you, but I neglected to do so. I know there are many who will insistently recommend their excellent live performances, but they tend to ignore their excellent music videos as though they don't compare -- but they actually do compare. This time I'll recommend "Martirio" so you can have a sample of one of their two Spanish-language songs -- yes, they are bilingual, in case you didn't know. Dany belts a high note near the end that is jaw-dropping. I generally recommend studio before live in order to better understand and interpret what you're seeing in the live performance. 😘

*Production Facts:* Alessia Cara was asked by Metallica to perform on Metallica's charity album The Blacklist Album. A person in Cara's camp also does business with The Warning. So they collaborated on this project. They were allowed to do anything with the song except change the lyrics.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, Pau shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

They’ve only performed this song with Alessia Cara once in LA but they perform this regularly as part of their setlist and believe me it’s better live. Don’t know what part of Canada you’re from but they will be in Montreal and Toronto in August.
