@@bertplank8011 plank , you do realise that its called fun laughter, maybe try some , ! And if your going down the route of racists then you should know that their are plenty of back comedians , indian , asian, pskistani , even syrian who mock whites !!! THE DIFFERANCE IS THAT WE LAUGH AND SEE HUMOUR IN IT ! .....
When my son was a little boy back in the early 80s, he wrote to Jasper Carrot to tell him he was a fan. Jasper sent him a signed photo and took the trouble to write a letter as well.
@@anglewoden such a closed mind, you think you’re clever, but in fact you’re so thick you didn’t realise the children pick up the bad language from watching TV, and listening to comedians with foul mouthed egotistical venom and it’s the children listening to Jasper can have a child hood of innocence before they fall into the category of self absorbed, self satisfying youth such as yourself.
@@UK_Cobra but your mistake was to do the exact same thing you’re in a mood with me doing.. You just wished the same on me.. do you not see the irony… lol
@@brookerobertson2951 Nice little trap there. But if you had kept your trap shut, I'd not know anything about you, thus not giving 2 flying figs. Hope your brain can comprehend that. I do not wish death upon anyone, except those disgusting enough to wish it on others, with absolutely no reason given. If your a snowflake who needs to run to the comfort cupboard because of that, well, skip along, and take your time.
Yeah I like switching (big fan of both of them tbh) between Jasper and Joy Chubby Brown, was him in the Detectives thought he was bloody hilarious in that! Made me a massive fan of him because of that! Also Rik Mayall as well oh hell that man just embodied it lol
Yes. And dare I say it - female comedians who swear and seem to think the shock of a female swearing is, in itself, funny are wrong and errr not funny.
@@anglewoden yep totally agree, Chubby would still be funny but when you see him live especially the swearing enhances his act, sadly some people don't get it.
Yes I did. Didnt think it was comment worthy though. More fool me huh 😉 Goes to prove what a class act Alex really is 🥰 and how much respect he has for a true comedy legend.
@@paulguy2545 Did you watch the interview or just presuming because Belfield is doing the interviewing? He clearly states in this video that he does not tell the same jokes that he used to and his longevity is due to adapting to the times. 06:33 and 08:41 for anyone interested in a quick taste of his actual views rather than commenters assumptions, though I recommend you do watch the whole interview. Alex was desperately trying to steer the conversation towards his own agenda and Jasper being the decent guy he is, was having none of it. Well done Mr Carrot.
@@jamesbrum8787 *The exact same way he says every other BBC employee was complicit. All those years and the time spent alone with Saville and we're expected to believe that Belfield hadn't a clue? At the very least he must have heard the rumours? Did he say anything in all that time alone where he was gushing over Saville and telling him how wonderful he was and what an honour it had been to spend so much time with him? No. Just as he didn't ask Jim Davidson why he visits Gary Glitter and thinks he should ''get another chance''. Hypocrite.*
How lovely to see Jasper Carrot still performing. He is not yesterday's man, I would love to see his act. And he gets extra brownine points, for not using the F word.
Brilliant!! I loved the show "The Detectives" Jasper did with Robert Powell". Like Jasper says "you don't have to resort to bad language to make your audience laugh" Top man !!
Yep! Me too. One of the greatest of the “story teller” comedians - cannot think of anyone today who is quite as funny as Jasper. My daughters, now in their forties, grew up listening to him. Not sure I would let young kids listen to many of today’s comics without my thumb hovering over the “off” button on the remote control.
His insurance claims are still some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard, I have a really old signed book of his original stand up show, still a funny read to this day.
Love jasper carrot, he’s as dry as chip and tells it as it is. Normal people understand and love his humour, but the woke brigade are too thick to work it out.
This is no 'woke brigade'. It's a meaningless term. Society changes and evolves, as Jasper actually said in this interview! In the 70s, there were words and jokes people didn't say, but were acceptable 50 years earlier in the music halls. Times change.
Fantastic, thanks Jasper for your huge wit and comedy throughout my younger years! Congratulations on your upcoming 50th, I love you and there’s nothing you can do about it 🤡🤔👍😂🥰🤪😜
He'll always be a legend in my eyes. He's made me laugh and always cheered me up over the year's. I miss him so much. Please tell him how much he is missed Alex. x
Great to see Jasper still going strong. I absolutely loved his series "The Detectives" with his sidekick Robert Powell. Still makes me roll about with laughter nearly 30 years on.
My dad used to love Jasper Carrot, such a funny man whenever he is on I smile remembering how dad used to laugh at his act… Thank You Alex for this interview you are a legend as is Jasper Carrot…
"There was this blue flashing light." Absolute legend. That hour TV special came out on a yellow cassette. I took it to school and we howled laughing in the playground... some of the teachers listened in laughing too.
Thanks Alex, now I’m going to be addicted to JC RU-vid clips for the rest of the day. I’ll get no work done! I still think he is one of the 5 best comedians of all time along with Billy Connolly, George Carlin, Richard Prior and Bill Hicks. He is so underrated.
Fabulous guy. We saw him in Johannesburg about 30 years ago. The joke I remember best was about fat people and the excuses they make. He pointed out that the hole here (pointing to his mouth) is bigger than the hole there( you know where he pointed).
Saw him at Loughborough midweek, sold out, amazing reaction you could tell Jasper was happy and loving it rocking with Bev and Andy also, proper entertainer!
