I get it that defamation is already a thing, but we sure play that issue very loose. And more constraints might mean Christian nationalists genuinely legislate speech they don't like, such as conversations about the lgbtq community, into a criminal act. Even with my misgivings, I am ready to lock Jones up and throw away the key. His brand of poison is a treason that harms his targets and his throng of followers, to the detriment of the entirety of our society. In most cases of defamation I'd be saying $1billion is excessive.. In this case, it should go further - throw him in jail too.
