This really helps the rotation cause he's a 3, 4, and 5 against a small center! While the newcomers get comfortable, and last years Freshman get their feet, Karaban gives UCONN stability from the go!

watch some tapes of the last 2 years and appreciate how good the team 2 yrs ago was, and how much better last years team was, and likely this years team will be even better than last year, as so many of the top teams have lost so much to the pros!

Karaban will almost be an on-court coach and leader to these talented newbies along with Diarra. Thats critical, you need to have some veteran presence coming back, especially given how complicated UConn’s offense is.

Gotta love the pundits fading UConn - Fuel for the fire🔥. Keep it up Mark, been nice to have a UConn specific Pod out there and nice to see Kolter and Torres make appearances. I could maybe see putting Kansas at #1 based on proven starters/transfers/returners but don't see how you have the Huskies anywhere below #3. Don't really care if the "CBB Minds" think we're good we'll just keep winning chips 😁!!

7 total players returning from an absolutely dominant title team. 4 of which played signficant or regular minutes. Then Solo, Ross and Singare all with title experience too and sharpened from a yr of practice on a historically elite team. Thats huge. And yes, as you say, the best coaching staff in the country by a mile. Plus a 5 star freshman and 2 other solid recruits, plus 2 solid portal guys.....3 peat lookin very doable

Love Alex returning. I expect 16 and 7 from him. It won't be easy. He'll be number one now on the opponents scouting report and get the best wing defender on him.

AK is the most valuable piece of the roster, followed by returning vets like Diarra and Slampson makes the 3-peat a real possibility.

Your starting lineup, 6-10 and 2 guys (11-12) that won't play are exactly what my prediction was. Team is stacked and we will probably be #2 behind Kansas but absolutely should be #1 if they are being rational. 10 of these guys are former top 100 guys, even Hassan. The others are an all conference guy in Mahaney and 4 star in Singare, so literally every player is a 4 star+ down to the 12th man. HS rankings aren't all that but I don't think we have ever had a roster this deep

I appreciate yer enthusiasm and I’m with U. However, our defense is gonna dip without DC sucking up the space between and behind 2 Tall Athletic guards. I trust in Hurley. Love the roster. But I expect a learning curve.

If Liam is starting it means Stewart has not taken that step forward. That would be concerning imho. The starting lineup in game 1 should be Mahaney, Solo, Stewart, AK and Samson.

McNeely can be the next superstar in a UConn sense...but minutes have to be found for Stew and Ross. Would like to see Ross get time at SG so we can be longer at times out there.

Hurleys system is extremely tough to beat. You have a nonstop motion offense that runs endless sets at you wearing your defense down as the game goes on and to make things worse theyre relentless on the defensive end. Its just a constant grind going against Uconn which is why they constantly pull away in the second half from teams. Until someone figures this out Uconn is going to be a problem. I think we could see Uconn go on a run like Dook did in the 90s where they went to like 5 straight Final 4s. They won two but its possible Uconn wins 3 or 4 in a row or that many over a 6 year span.

This years team had 7 guys playing the overwhelming majority of minutes. I’m thinking that players 9 and 10 can get could decent minutes. That means wear the opponents down

If you think this team is overhyped all your doing is telling me that you have not watched Uconn outside of a handful of games. This Uconn team is literally talent wise better than the last two teams that went back to back. Now will that talent translate to the court, we shall see. But it goes beyond the talent its also the coaching staff. There is a gap between this staff and the rest of the country and until that gap is closed or atleast made much smaller we will continue to see Uconn making big runs in March. I agree, i dont see how you dont have Uconn #1 preseason.

@@LockedOnUConn could be. But you have this a lot. I know because I watch all your shows. By the way,I may be the oldest UConn fan. My first game that I attended was at the Hawley Armoury in ‘53 ‘54, against I forget who. I was a little kid ( born in ‘49,now 75 years old). I currently live in The Netherlands,have to get up at 2 or 3 am to watch games sometimes. But I never miss a game if I can help it. So Anyhow, I’ve been a fan for 70 years. Never in my wildest dreams did I think UConn would reach the pinnacle of college basketball and be the best program in the country.
