Alex Pereira is 6'5. Not 6'4. He's always taller then these dudes billed at 6'4 and there is a picture him standing next to Johnny Walker who is either 6'5 or 6'6 and they're the same height in photo. There is a photo him standing next to Tyson Fury and not being much shorter as well. (Fury height is billed 6'9 but his actual height is probably 6'6 or 6'7.)
@@trash6960 I can see Izzy being actually higher end of 6'2 or 6'3 but Pereira sure as hell is not 6'3. There is video online you can find of Pereira standing next to Fury and Fury remarking on how big he is. Johnny Walker isn't two inches taller then Periera either. Google search it. And Fury is bare minimum 6'6 1/2.
@@trash6960 Google search Walker standing next to Pereira and watch the RU-vid video of Alex and Fury. That's clearly wrong. They have his height listed incorrectly obviously.
@@marklarz4399 Kayla will ragdoll Chael every time, especially In a championship fight. In my opinion,Thats Chael's weakness. He gets way too nervous and that confidence goes out the window. Hahaha and he doesn't keep his promises.
I've been saying this since he first came to the UFC, "We can't really tell how good he is until he goes against people his own size!". Yes, he is a hard worker, clearly skilled, but everybody looks better than they are when going against someone smaller. I look forward to seeing Alex in his true division, heavyweight.
Good piece. I've said everywhere this guy is a heavyweight. This guy right now is on his way to white hot like we haven't seen since Chimaev was on fire. You can't talk too much about this guy right now. I will never know how he made 185 and I don't want to ever see him do that again. Dana please Alex vs Tom. Command performance for your fans.
You're always good with your endings, Chael. But I wished for one more sentence. "The guy who is trying the least to get attention is the guy we give the most attention to. -- And who is the most deserving of our attention."
And let's not forget it took two attempts to beat the glass jawed Johnny Walker, when the first time could have realistically been a DQ win for Walker. And going by the time since Blachowicz fight, Ankalaev's only fought twice so far (excluding the upcoming Rakic fight). The No Contest VS Walker, then needing 2 rounds to finish him in the rematch (even worse when you realize both Jamahal Hill and Volkan Oezdemir needed less than a round to put Walker out). In that same time, Pereira fought 6 times (going 5-1). Fought 3 times in both 2023 and 2024, lost his MW belt, went up to LHW, became champion, and defended the belt 3 times. Ankalaev is hella inactive compared to Pereira, who stepped in to save the UFC this year.
Look at alex's power at 205 despite cutting so much weight. That is gonna take a big toll on his power. I believe pereira was 232 at fight time vs rountree. Pereira has shown crazy power at 205. What happens when he never has to cut weight and can actually work on adding a little more weight and come in at 240-245?? His power is gonna be that much more insane.
At his age having bad cuts like that it’s unreal he’s still able to perform the way he does it doesn’t make sense! I do think if that’s how it’s playing out in the cuts maybe it is infact time to go to heavyweight, one it’s healthier and two he will most likely perform even better without being drained from a bad weight cut!
Chael, Alex was ill and on antibiotics during the weight cut. It was going to be hard. When he's relatively well, he makes 205 very easily. He does walk around at 235lbs though, 30lbs cut isn't easy
If Ankalaev wins, they should just give Jan Blachowicz a title shot since he did pretty well against Alex (they just shouldn't do it at altitude). But it's Ankalaev fighting in Abu Dhabi, so higher odds it's a NC or he fouls the hell out of Rakic
Ankalaev is indeed a "legit threat," but he doesn't 'deserve' anything, and the only reason he's constantly orbiting this conversation is because the only two people with a decent resume who have been active at LHW recently are Pereira and Prochazka...and Pereira has KO'd Prochazka cold twice now. He's on a 1 fight winstreak
While it’s pretty obvious that Hill still has some work to do before he could potentially call for a rematch" What an euphemism! Hill did literally nothing since getting completely destroyed by Alex
They need to do Poatan vs Lionheart next so Anthony can finally win the belt before he retires. The man has paid his dues, and given us years of great fights and articulate commentary.
@@marcopolocucina2484 You got that wrong. UFC is lucky to have a fighter like Anthony. Beast inside the cage, great commentator and family man, perfect set of teeth.
It's not like Ankalaev has some incredible resume and just can't be denied here. He beat Johnny Walker in his last fight. The highest ranked fighter on his resume is Blachowicz, and they went to a draw.
Like that thumbnail provides the French phonetic pronunciation of Pereira preferred by Chael, but also the correct spelling in the title. Translator work at its best.
I just want to see him fight for a heavyweight title and go for the triple crown. Let Jon have his retirement fight with Stipe sure but I want this bad
How tf is Reyes the same height as Pereira? I've seen that foto, and even if Reyes is standing closer to the camera and all that, he looks significantly smaller
Alex is an ectomorph, this is why despite his weight he looks skinny. Thats also the reason his chin is weaker at 185, he loses too much water causing his brain to shrink even more, taking longer to regain its full size. Thats what happened to TJ also.
UFC is just a competition of who is better at weight cutting and then at the end the bigger man usually wins the fight. Notable examples Conor McGregor in featherweight and Khabib in lightweight.
All pre workout is a joke. Take creatine, no2 or gear for gains. Pre-workout gives you none of that and if you need energy to get you to go to the gym then just stay home and play video games I don't know what else to tell you
Did he miss weight? No? Then it's not "weight bullying". If your logic is that he is cutting obscene amounts of weight to "bully" smaller fighters, then succeeding, just means he is a freak athlete... You try cutting POUNDS of water weight, and doing ANYTHING the next day.. you won't feel like much of a bully.
The rehydration clauses are to prevent fighters from improperly rehydrating, and cheating by flushing performance enhancers via i.v and/ or receiving performance enhancers via i.v
The problem is if you don't cut and others do, they'll have a decided advantage. The system forces you do play along, and it's just a matter of degrees. No UFC fighter fights at their walk around weight unless they pick up a last minute bout up a division.
