I remember watching this live as a kid when it first aired. Alex was a clown, but credit to where credit is due. He brought the fight to Watson and left it all in the cage. Everyone expected him to lose in the first round but the lad actually earned everyone's respect that night.
eddie hockley I wouldn't agree on outclassed. That implies it was a one sided mismatch, even if it did go the distance, but that wasn't the case. Both fighters had their fair share. Smashed, yes, but both fighters were.

I’ve always liked reid, He’s had a lot of bad press in his life but he’s always come out fighting, he seems like a great lad and he sure answered a few critics this night
A great win by Tom Watson over a fine opponent in Alex Reid. Watson gradually got the better of the tenacious Reid as the fight progressed. He attacked ferociously with punches to Reid's face and knees to Reid's jaw which left Reid dazed momentarily but he endured to unfortunately lose in a brave effort against the remorseless Watson.
I watched Alex Reid on that hotel program and thought him to be very down to earth sort. Certainly handles the fight well. Glad to see he gained respect from this
what a fight. call it a draw. that was a war. both men fought with respect and honer. its fights like this that remind me why i love mma so much. its A sport. men and women can fight and still respect. love it. well done.
The build up show/series to this was hilarious.....really didn’t think Alex Reid would last that long.....maybe The Kong went easy on him for a bit....
Savage warfare. Alex is to brave for his own good. hard as nails. Not many people would be able to take the punishment dealt out and taken by both fighters. I'm still uncomfortable with the knees Alex took to the head. Knee pads anyone?
To protect the knee? If you pad the knee all that will do is make the hits harder. There will be less blood but the brain will be getting shaken even more violently around the skull. Thats one of the reasons concussion is a bigger threat in American Football than rugby and why boxing has more deaths now than when it was bare-knuckle.
hmm, kong is now closer to reality, sincerely hope for him. the notion in his head of being champion, so easily seen at the beginning, lost the meaning in his blond head a few minutes later. beautiful fight for alex, unbelieveble courage and determination. a real champion.
I thought alex were a bum after watching vinne jones make him look like one live on big brother. Lucky vinnie didnt get an elbo or knee to the head. Go Alex warrior
Is it just the bad camera angles & weird commentating, or were those guys fighting in zero aggression mode. From round 1 they move like two super heavyweights in the 9th round. Maybe the constant camera motion. Fight wants as interesting as the saucy Brit with the banana 🍌
I'm wondering. Did Reid have a piss test? Because he looked like he was on something. I've seen men who were high fight. You could of hit them with the kitchen sink and they would not go down.
commentators running off the fight = if they could do their job and stick to the fight and commentate on that - would be good - wankers for sure ! 99-for tommy + 98 for alex so close !
I almost had to turn the sound off, with the inane commentators. Take a breath and quit trying to be effing strategists. Comment on the fight in front. You effers were spending so much time talking you were ignoring the fight.
Watching two exhausted fighters fight is literally watching fight of the weak. Hate it. This makes fighters look much tougher than they really are. Just, put them out of their misery and give them a draw. If you're a fighter liking this kind of fight, then you're most likely a mediocre one. Deal with it. True fighters like conclusive outcome.
I'm sure that you are such a great fighter that you could beat them both at the same time. I don't see your fight ranking anywhere on the internet so you should STFU.
