Tuesday Livestream. Discussing Dugin’s political thought.
As you might know, I translated several of Dugin’s books into English and have been writing about his theory for about ten years. I teach him at my online school, MillermanSchool.com, I have a chapter on him in my Heidegger book, and I have published a collection of my writings on him into a book called Inside ‘Putin’s Brain’: The Political Philosophy of Alexander Dugin (find them both at DuginBook.com).
I figured we could use this livestream to just go over some of the basics and maybe look at recent articles by him or do a Q and A. Come join the Tucker-Dugin afterparty.

At this point they just censor his books, you can't find them on mainstream sites (And mind you, you can find books like Imperium there). Hi guys! I'm Russian. I know Dugin's work well enough. Be careful with Dugin. This guy is not simple. He absolutely correctly defined the essence of what people need to get away from, but his theory is very vague about what people should come to. This man was very enthusiastic about studying the archives of the German Order of the Ahnenerbe, which definitely influenced his worldview. In Russia, many people call him the "fascist philosopher." He may not be a fascist in the full sense, but he smacks a little of it. In any case, this person is very smart and it is useful to listen to him. ... but be careful.

how one approaches political theory excellent! I don't think Dugin is against post-modernism but rather re-appropriates it as a politics of debris thus re-assembles its contents in assemblage form so as to create his 4th political theory. Alternative post-modernism

I would say that Heidegger takes a structured approach to the subjective perspective. Whereas the French post modernists tend to just roll around in self indulgence. Dugin expands on Heidegger.

❗ I had the vapors so good. Thomas Jefferson, educated by tutors in natural science, a little math and some philosophy, reading the Greek, Roman scholars, is representative of high education of the time. Our Founding Fathers, like him sat in stifling hot rooms windows and doors closed, their discussions in secret, hammered out documents so brilliant they take my breath away. Men with a task did overthink, didn't overthink, reigned in of their own bullshit, they kept it simple. Therein lies the apogee. I am reminded of this when I hear discussion of great philosophers and thinkers of the last 100+ years.

Have you watched the cartoon "Finding Nemo"? Tucker is like those fish that lived in an aquarium and tried to escape into the open ocean. Finally, Tucker realized that the Western Information Aquarium is not an ocean. That the world is huge and harmoniously tuned... and what the inhabitants of the Western aquarium considered to be "the ocean of freedom and truth" is not close to the truth. How wonderful it is that the little "fish" Tucker began to reveal to the world the real "ocean inhabitants" who can tell the truth about the global diversity and uniqueness of the human "ocean", about true freedom and beauty. And not about plastic plants, artificial light instead of the sun and other nonsense that the inhabitants of the western aquarium are fed.😊

Dugin honestly is simplifying his outlook for the general audience with short attention spans. I am reading one of his Noomahia books , on Russia(a 3 volume subset that is Russia-centric and my mind is blown by the sheer volume and scope of the undertaking) The guy goes deep into history ,archaic history before Slavs even existed as a people and picks common themes of culture, religious system as he charts a path to this day.The guy is basically charting the path of a specific set of people on earth through history while fine-tuning the ultimate realisation of self while sticking to traditional, spiritual nuances. I am not a philosopher , more a slavo-phile but damn Dugin is incredible.It is almost as if with all his prognostications he is reading the future both in terms of what possibilities and pitfalls await us. Definitely one of the smartest men on earth today and this is no joke!

@victorberenbaum6561 22 дня назад
his philosophical writings are often criticized for their lack of coherence, internal consistency, and rigorous argumentation. Here are some observations about the coherence of Dugin's philosophical works: Eclectic and contradictory: Dugin's philosophy draws from a wide range of sources, including traditional Russian Orthodox thought, fascist and Nazi ideologies, occultism, and various strands of anti-Western and anti-liberal philosophies. This eclectic approach often leads to contradictions and inconsistencies within his works. Lack of clear definitions: Dugin frequently uses vague and poorly defined terms, making it difficult to understand the precise meaning of his concepts. For instance, his central idea of "Eurasianism" remains ambiguous and open to multiple interpretations. Logical fallacies: Critics have pointed out numerous logical fallacies and flawed reasoning in Dugin's arguments, such as overgeneralizations, appeals to emotion, and non-sequiturs. Lack of empirical grounding: Dugin's works are often criticized for being highly speculative and lacking empirical evidence or grounding in reality. His ideas are frequently based on metaphysical or esoteric assumptions rather than rigorous analysis. Inconsistent application: Dugin's application of his philosophical principles is often inconsistent, as he has been known to adapt or modify his views to suit the political circumstances or align with the interests of the Russian state. While Dugin's works have undoubtedly been influential, particularly in shaping the ideological narratives of the Russian government, they are widely regarded by many scholars and philosophers as intellectually incoherent, logically flawed, and lacking in rigorous philosophical argumentation.

Dugin is being dishonest. He says he rejects "fascism" because it is nationalist, but in fact neither Hitler nor Mussolini were nationalists. They were imperialists, which is incompatible with nationalism. Nationalism is a conservative concept which entails respecting other nation's borders; Hitler dreamed of forcefully moving tens of thousands of Dutch people to Russia for colonisation, for example, and Mussolini spoke out against nationalism again and again. Most probably, Dugin himself is an imperialist, which means that he has more in common with Hitler and Mussolini and thus with "fascism" than he wants to admit. And (Russian) imperialism of course must not entail wanting to "kill all Ukrainians". You are being dishonest too.
