Oh! That was my first favorite song in my life! My parents had the LP and I was playing this song on repeat when I was a child. Still have it in my playlist.

Alexandra was a celebrity in Germany in the 1960s. She was on her way to becoming very successful in France and other European countries. Her voice was heartwarming and impressed so many people. A very famous song was "Sehnsucht", which she grew to dislike as her career progressed. She felt that it forced her into a romantic Russian mold that made her feel constrained. Later she sang French chansons in German, also very successfully. Unfortunately, she died far too young in a traffic accident. I still love listening to her, just as I did when I was young.

Alessandra died in a traffic accident in 1969. She was 27 years old and her mother and her six-year-old son were in the car.

Alexandra! Oh my, she was the rising Star in Europe in the late 60ies, unfortunately she passed away being only 27 Years old in a mysterious Car Crash. Till today Rumours are spread that it was murder, her Car was manipulated because her Boyfriend was a Spy and she knew too much. Alexandra was the great romantic Soul, fabulous german Singer. She always reminds me of Diana Ankudinova.

When this song came out, it was exactly the music I loved and when I heard that the tree is dead, I cried my eyes out. Well, it was long ago, I was 7 years old. Later, I started listening to Rammstein, but I still loooove trees. :)

You were not wrong with the Hippie vibes and Woodstock. The song was released 1968. Germany needed lots of new houses and factories. This may not be historically correct, but it is what I experienced in my childhood and youth: They destroyed nature and trees to develop a wealthy Germany. Much more than today. The Hippies on the other hand were disgusted by these people and tried to live a completely different life. Which makes this song to a kind of soft protest song. (Most protest songs were much more direct, believe me :) You already watched a singer/songwriter of these days: Reinhard Mey.
