That's a very tough film, but it's definitely a film that will stay in your head. Brilliant acting by all. Deniro really steps out of his standard characters too. And Ann Meara is so great in it (that's Ben Stiller's mother; Jerry Stiller's wife of many years).

Elements of this film are based on the school I was educated at. In 1994 our school performed this film on the stage.

@@AlexxaReacts It was great. The school is The Scots College in Bellevue Hill Sydney. Peter Weir the director of the film was educated at Scots and you can see elements from the school in the film. The Scots uniform is Blue and Gold in the film the Gold is Red. The Scots emblem is the Rampant Lion which you see on the boys blazers and in the yearbook the students show Mr. Keating. The use of bagpipes, rowing, and the strict discipline. Up until 1995 corporal punishment was still used at Scots but it wasn’t a wooden paddle, it was a stick of bamboo. I love the comedy of Robin Williams (Patch Adams, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Morning Vietnam etc.) but watching this film shows he was brilliant at serious acting as well.
