This is part 2 of our Algonquin backcountry canoe trip with our children. We camped on Big Crow Lake and went on day trips. First, we hiked up to an old fire tower. The next day, we paddled over to a trail that passes through a beautiful old growth forest. It was an incredible September adventure in Algonquin Provincial Park and we hope you enjoy! Please subscribe to follow us - Part 3 of our trip will be posted soon!

Algonquin Provincial Park is located on the traditional land of the Omamiwininiwag and Anishinabewaki Nations. We are thankful for their stewardship of the land and for the opportunity to experience this beautiful place. (www.native-land.ca)

We are planning a September trip (first time) with our 3 children, 11, 11 and 4. Can you send me the route you went on?

Hi! We took the water taxi to the north of Lake Opeongo. It dropped us off at the portage to Proulx Lake. From there, we paddled Proulx Lake to the Crow River, Little Crow, and Big Crow Lakes, camping on all of those lakes. We purposely planned shorter days and had lots of time for hiking, swimming, and relaxing. Have fun on your trip!
