Those guys are really wholesome and nice. In spite of the ridicule they just continued stating what they believed in although it contradicted with what Ali G was saying. Nice video.

The woman was actually giving good answers. Did not expect that from the title "treehuggers". The guy's name Shunka got me cracked. i suppose it's pronounced the same as Šunka in my language, which means "ham"
One of the best and most genius parts of Ali G as a character is how genuine and serious he is when asking such idiotic questions. It really does keep the person he's interviewing from getting frustrated or fed up and instead leads them to explanations. Ali G is genuinely trying to ask questions he thinks are pertinent, he just happens to be extremely uneducated

I like the tree huggers. They camp out at the tops of trees so the tree can't be felled, otherwise the loggers would be charged with murder. They're actually trying and doing something, not just eating veggie hot pockets and complaining.

Like when they say "consumption of meat is adding to the world starvation problem" lol I don't know specifically about "Shunka" but some of those guys from "Earth First!" used to be against industrialized agriculture which if we ended it as they wanted it will indeed lead to worldwide massive starvation of billions. Ali G is the best! The way he whips those questions with a straight face is legendary. I wonder how many of these events are scripted / played-along, how many of the "upper-class" meetings start from more formal beginnings, etc. Scripted, acted, whatever, good laughs all the same! With the power of editing you can convey almost any kind of message. Some of the forest dwellers aren't perhaps the most well-informed (however you define it, opt-out from media, society, etc.?), but do you notice how they talk and act softly, with little stress, balanced in their own ways? When you reconnect with the nature, embrace some herbs (if you so choose), get back to basics in life, it does it to you. There's a good chance you will become more happier, more expressive, more balanced inside. In better tune with you body and mind. Take note fellow westerners.
I know where you're coming from as so much supposedly 'ad lib' comedy seems to be staged/rehearsed these days, but I think very few (if any) of Ali G's live interactions are. The funny part about when he says, "Why's that, y'like whisperin'? ahahaha" is that you could see so many people actually making jokes along those lines. He is a genius but he plays the part of an idiot perfectly.
two of the most decent blokes ive ever seen. anyone who dislikes hippies has to be either a raving lunatic or a NeoCon a$$-hole. same thing I suppose. Non-violent yet rebellious, kind and gentle and extremely giving of their own time and effort. The only few times where he was a bit rude was when he was bullying that guy calling him gayboy, little boy, four-eyes and saying he could beat him up. And the episode where he called a women ugly.
