Alice has always had some of the finest guitarists in the world play with him over the years. If you cheack out all his albums you'll find the biggest names in rock played on them.
Saved up my allowance as a little kid; got on my bicycle to go to the record store; first album I ever bought in my life had this song on it. I was speechless. Thank you Alice and Cheryl Cooper, it's been an incredible journey.
Saw this Boston Garden 1ST row! Just amazing guitar. Great night of rock Love Wagner/Hunter Remember they were the two guitarists that played on Lou Reed's Rock and Roll Animal recording with the great version of Sweet Jane. I've seen a lot of great two guitarist lineups but I think they were the absolute best. The guitar interplay and the onstage guitar dueling is outstanding. OMG The rock gods were appeased with this performance.
I can't tell if Alice is just acting really well or is completely drunk off his skull and Wagner and Steve are friggin amazing together! Like watching Richie Blackmoore and Tony Iommi playing back to back!
Pretty sure Alice said on the Director's Commentary that he was offstage having Oxygen administered during the guitar battle. Can't remember if he said he was drunk or not at this point in the show. I'll have to dig out my DVD copy and listen to the commentary track again.
"Dick Wagner on the left, Steve Hunter on the right." (mic drop) Everything you need to learn about rock and roll and lead guitar you can get right here. To put it in perspective, Van Halen was still playing backyard parties when this was filmed.
The best band Alice ever had. Same happened to Lou Reed when Rock and Roll animal an Live were recorded. The best guitar tandem in rock history. With Prakash John on bass and Penty Glan on drums. Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter are the most criminally underrated guitar players in history. The other day there was a controversy on Facebook I think about this chick Nita Strauss, if she was good enough. Well let me tell you something, the bare fact of comparing her with these dudes, well, it shows the kind of degradation of Alice Cooper's fan base these days. And yes in my opinion, by far the album from 1977 The Alice Cooper Show is not only his very best but one of the best live albums ever produced. Every album where this band was involved, made the artist 10 million times better.
I got to see this being played at the Los Angeles Forum on June 17 1975 I was in awe of what I was seeing and hearing way down there on the stage I was watching with binoculars,
Hey man I saw this show on June 6th 1975 in Jackson MS . I was 12 about to be 13 & it was my first concert . (Suzuki Quatro was the opening act !) I thought all concerts were going to be like that . 45 years later I have seen Alice well over 25 times ... I finally got to meet him in 2009 . Bucket list stuff man . The greatest entertainer of all time ! 🎸🇺🇸
