The BEST thing about Salem's Lot is Reggie Nalder as the vampire. HE also had a pretty creepy and frightening role as the witch hunter in a flick called Mark Of the Devil.
I'm from Western Pennsylvania, very near where Night of the Living Dead was made and took place. One of the stars was Chilly Billy cardille, who hosted his own horror show " Chiller Theater" in Pittsburgh.
Yes yes yes. I feel vindicated. At college I had the chance to show a horror movie to the class and I chose Carnival of Souls. At the end I asked who liked it and only one girl raised her hand.
I love that movie for the same reasons I love "Night of the Living Dead." It's non-Hollywood people making films that are somehow more genuine and scary than anything coming out of Hollywood, especially these days.
Well, usually people are in a trance for about 20 Minutes. My mind was blown when I first saw it, at a NOTLD Midnight Double Feature Show. Which, reminds me, it played in the cinema next to Rocky Horror. This was he early 80s.
Oh, man, I'd forgotten about "The Haunting of Hill House !" (the original one). There's This one scene at night where 2 women are in a room, and there;s this LOUD banging on the door. It's endless! I remember seeing the heavy door to the room actually bend inward. As a kid I rarelygot terrified, or creeped out by movies..but I was by this! The original "The Thing" also messed me up so badly that to this day I CANNOT eat Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee ravioli, which was what we had for dinner right after I saw the movie. Havent seen Salem's Lot...but hey, think I'll see if it's on Amazon video Thanks, Alice!
Mine? #5 Last house on the Left. I just told my cousin yesterday that I only fear serial killers. Ghosts.. goblins... don't scare me which brings us to #4.. Halloween... if you watch it and are not scared... you're brain dead. #3 Night of the Living Dead.. this film gives me nightmares. #2 The Ring... my second wife after we watched the movie and I turned our bedroom light off hissed "seven days." If that isn't grounds for divorce ..I don't know what is... #1 Jaws it IS the scariest movie of all time. I didn't take a bath for two months after watching it. Gordon

Yep, Salem’s Lot, very good movie. Best creepy vampire you will ever see. Suspira, very eerie, but hard to follow. Evil Dead is corny with no real kind of plot to follow.
ALL THAT TALK ABUT DEMONS NOT REALIZING THEY'RE ARE USING HIM OBVIOUSLY HE'S NEVER SEEN ONE OR HE WOULDN'T PROMOTE SCARY MOVIES? HE SAYS HE,'S A CHRISTIAN THE QUESTION IS BUT DOES GOD KNOW HIM?
Baby, just stop! I think God clearly doesn’t know you if you’re running your sticky fingers all over the internet with that judgmental junk. Knock it off. You’re embarrassing.
Funny, I have the EXACT OPPOSITE opinion. Salem's Lot I've always found to be a bland American made for television movie, while Suspira to be an eerrie and genuinely nightmarish Euro horror masterpiece.
