I'm sure you coud have fixed that broken wire, if it was copper you could have soldered it, if it was alimunium you could probably scrape some of the insulation off and just wind them together. Not easy, sure, but definately worth a try I'd say.
@BentleyHouseMinis
@BentleyHouseMinis 3 года назад
I tried to and talked with my husband who is better with wiring than I am and it was a lost cause. Even if I did manage to patch it together it would have easily come loose later.

I don’t know the game reference of Alice and I’m sure if I did I would be even more appreciative of the nods to the game, but it really is stunning. As always, Ara... splendid!!! Hubs actually sat & watched with me, remarking on how great it is. =D I'd love to see you create a "shell"/outside, and I was wondering.. if you put a bit of that mirror stuff behind the light in the cheshire grin, what would the effect be like? Would it make the grin overwhelmingly obvious, or boost it just enough to pull your eyes up to it? Curiouser & curiouser... ;)
@BentleyHouseMinis
@BentleyHouseMinis 3 года назад
You and I are definitely thinking along the same track! If I had time to do the outside I was going to add the mirror back there to reflect the light through the smile. I will make sure to add it when I get there! I am so glad you both enjoyed the video :)

@@BentleyHouseMinis if you do get around to the outside, I know I, for one, would love to watch the video! I've been fascinated by little book-nook shelf room boxes for a few years... and watched a few creators making them. It'll be at least before I even dared create one, however... not sure how she does it, but our kitten Caden manages to clear shelves - even shelves where we're sure contents are wedged tight. 😑 Destructo-kitten. Lol. Looking forward to your next video, and hopefully, hubs can watch, too. =D

It's got me thinking you can do amazing stuff even in small spaces, which is an important idea as I am just getting started and am a bit overwhelmed by the big projects I keep imagining... Besides, your mushroom lights were totally worth the effort.

First I love this. We have to learn we are our own worst critics as Artists. Thank you for these tips, especially when things go wrong. I get really upset, cry, I want quite, anxiety, and frustrating. I was painting botanicals yesterday. My daughter asked, "Mom, who are you talking to?" Me: "myself." Kid: "Why mom? " My response: " I am talking myself through this painting, like an art instructor, I can't afford. I think I just ruined it. AND, I will have you know, I usually get the right answers, when I talk to myself." 👀😂😂😂 I wondered next if that is why Vincent Van Gogh had issues.

You'd figure out what works best for you, but like I said, it's really not a problem. Stop apologizing. . . You're way to thoughtful for the today's world. Lol YES. You have totally captured the essence of Alice In Wonderland with this beautiful book nook. I would love to see you make a Narnia nook, using The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as inspiration. That would make a perfect nook because it starts with a normal wardrobe and then transitions into the magical world of Narnia, in the same way that this book nook goes from a hallway in an old house to Wonderland. I love that transition from our world to another magic world. Thanks for another brilliant video. Love from Amanda Jones in Australia ❤

When it comes to resin printers, I have some suggestions. For the supports, you can remove them after you clean the extra resin off of the models but before fully curing the resin. There are a lot of amazing 3D printing youtubers like 3D Printing Nerd, Thomas Sanlanderer, Makers Muse, Make Anything, and many more that can help walk you through how to make your prints more efficient. Have fun with the resin printing (if you get to keep the machine)!

Hey Ara, awesome work. In case you cut anymore lighting wires, the fairy lights all stopped working because the circuit was disrupted. You could prob have stripped & reconnected the cut section of wire (then cover it up with electrical tape) to fix it. Oopsie!. Alice is my fave too - she doesn't seem like she's nearly 160years old, does she?

Third time watching this video, and I actually really love the "hobby horse" mainly because it’s a real world item a young Victorian girl would have had at the time anyway (or an older Victorian teen snatching it from a younger cousin to credulously say "grow up" and then running around with it in private as an ode to childhood) and I think to finish a book nook with lights all you really need is to make a sleeve around it, so it looks finished but it easy to remove for battery replacement or light replacement. I still love this project so much, and hope you do another one of these for different genres of your favorite books to read! Maybe a Coraline one, or a Gulliver’s Travels (wink… because miniatures) or maybe a Little Women one? Something with tea and decrepit nature like Pride, Prejudice and Zombies? Something easy to break into to get a little fun for others looking just to skim the miniature sector without breaking the bank (since book nooks most times don’t need characters, just things that look like furniture). You’re amazing Ara, long live the miniature!
