Alicia Official Storyboard - Part 5 - A Pain in the Royal Rumpus (Work in Progress)

"... This kingdom, this castle, your powers for one thing..." So aside from the witchcraft, the Queen's got the sass

Sombra is the best mood! It's like kids seeing their parents being overly lovey dovey and it's hilarious! The King and Queen's relationship is super interesting too, like they do love and care for each other, but there is also some strings attached to their relationship, it's not all lovey dovey evil people, they want something from each other If the king betrays the queen, it won't come without a cost.

I love how you can tell that this scene was based off of the deleted scene where Magnifico was trying to get more star power using Amaya's potion. I think it's a cool reference.

The little butler gives me Cogsworth vibes and I love his expressions

So far Celestino and Catalina collectively present as excellent foils to Alicia. Where Alicia is humble, Catalina is vain. Where Alicia is ambitious for the sake of her family, Celestino is ambitious for himself. Where Alicia is considerate of others, including animals and stars, Celestino and Catalina mistreat others and seemingly disregard their pet’s feelings. Where Alicia is hardworking just to get by, Celestino is exploitative and nothing is enough to sate his greed. I feel there is more to come, especially when we finally meet the Star Child, but overall it seems that where Alicia is fundamentally selfless, the king and queen are fundamentally selfish.

Nahh why the cat a mood tho

The duo of Villains that Disney stole from us, the relationship between Catalina and Celestino is very interesting. I also liked the kitten's reactions, it has been a long time since we had an antagonistic feline in a Disney movie

Ooooh, the REFERENCES in the potion!! This is what they should have given us if they wanted to sell a 50 year love-letter. THIS deserves real screen time!

That Wish deleted scene reference of the evil couple and their sidekick cat. I’m so glad that it made it into Alicia’s story as it supposed to be. 🤩

I empathize better with that cat than any of the characters in Wish🤣

I love the name Celestino cause it connects to the sky “la volta celeste”, I also love all the little references to old Disney villains, the secret passage, secret lab, the glass breaking during the transformation of king Celestino. I can see the inspiration from the deleted scene of Wish, but I like that here we can already see the toxicity of their dynamic instead of being a couple like Mortician and Gomez, good foundation for a betrayal from Catalina!

WOW!! Absolutely pitch perfect! The chemistry behind the King and Queen is incredibly well done, a great power house duo with some obvious strings attached to each other. The banter, the emotions captured, even again some callbacks to the personalities of classic villains (definitely some Jafar and Cruella/Ursula in each of them🙌🏻) keep it up! Props to the VA on Celestino🤩🔥🙌🏻

I'm mesmerised by how every character is unique, memorable and interesting! I like tax collector being here a normal person and his dynamic with Alicia. It's also interesting if he knows more about Star Kingdom than he seems. This last clip really made him way more mysterious.

I imagine the dresses the queen throws around and saying they are trash are the dresses of past Disney princesses like ariel, cinderella, belle, aurora, and etc would be great to see. Please make this a real thing i love it better than the original xx

I can see hints of inspiration from the deleted scene of Wish between the king and queen, with obvious differences because these two are not the same characters. I also see the influence of Ursula, Yzma, and Cruella de Vil in Catalina’s sorcery and “particular” preference in refined dresses. Meanwhile, I can see Jafar’s intimidating stature, Hades’ fiery, destructive rage, and the classic Disney villain’s lust for ever more power in Celestino. It really is the subtle details that make the characters. For instance, when Celestino gifts Catalina a dress and jewelry stolen from neighbouring kingdom, that exchange gives us some information about both their character to be derived. It implies either that he has not moral qualms about stealing from his potential allies. When we consider the reference to battle from Part 2, it implies that Celestino might have plundered the unnamed neighbouring kingdom while obtaining these objects and that people probably died in the process. Finally, the fact that Catalina doesn’t question any of this shows her selfishness and lack of concern for the consequences of what goes into feeding her vanity. If I may ask, do I detect hints of Valentino and Vox in this evil couple too with how they calm each other’s rage and manipulate each other? Overall, top tier storytelling. Keep up the great work!

The cat is the MVP of this scene. But big shoutout to the awesome artwork and great Voice Acting! Next Time (I assume): We enter Kingdom of Starlight ⭐️✨🌟

BEST PART YET!!!! I love all the designs for the side characters like the butler and tax collector!!!👏👏👏 The king and queen’s dynamic is so unique! Sweet with a edge✨ And Sombra’s reactions to the king and queen talking about ‘love’, actually made my laugh out loud (even though it’s late at night 😅😂) Keep up the amazing work!!!💪✨

So I assume we’re gonna be introduced to Alicia’s family in Part 6?

Loving the king and queen, they fit perfectly the Disney villains vibe, can't wait to see more of them. And the cat is an absolute mood 😂

Oh this was just perfect! The king and queen have chemistry but it's not exactly a healthy relationship. They are so evil. And great way to show Alicia has troubles and that losing a day's pay is a big burden on her. And again she is so earnest and likable but she gets in over her head easily and I so badly want her to succeed

I adore the writing and dialogue for this. These characters have so much charm I’m aways looking forward to new installments pure joy with every animatic thank you for sharing your amazing talents 🥹💕

This is what Wish supposed to be: Two villains for the royalty couples (King and Queen). They started off as keeping cool King and spoiling, selfish and unkindness Queen to the workers at the castle, but when they’re alone, they’re quietly went to the secret lair and revealed as monstrous/hungry for power King and wicked potion maker/meditating (for her husband) Queen. Not to mention their sarcastic but good hearted cat (the only one who’s not on their side). And now, for Senior (her boss with alike grandfatherly personality) and Alicia, Senior didn’t tell her about HIS overly payment instead of noticing still running low she’s having. That was a sad moment for both of them and they took a moment before starting to wish which is about to happen and save their lives. Well done, Pinkiemachine!

Maaaan, I love this dynamic ❤😂😭 It seems like the Queen really wants to love the King, but OF COURSE he only needs her powers to get powerful! Such a manipulative charismatic villain! And even if there is some good in the Queen, we see how her behavior is still very much affects the staff, and my theory was a big influence of the King ❤ Hopefully, one day we can fund you for the full animations ❤❤❤

Oh I adored this. After I saw a deleted scene of the King and Queen from Wish the other day I'd been excited to see them here! And low and behold you have a lovely reference/call back to said scene :D Sombra is a delight ^^ I adore their dynamic, and I love these 2 new characters! The butler and the Debt Collector. It's sweet to see that the man knew Alicia's father... and is trying to help his daughter the best way he can... She works SO hard and yet gets such little pay... :(

I actually had an idea Like Star is show as the small star like he is in the movie but when singing with Alicia He turns human showing her his true form

That. Was. So. Awesome!! I knew we were gonna see them eventually, but I had no idea it would be this perfect! They have such amazing chemistry, since most of the lines were inspired by that deleted scene! I also feel the Daniel person is either Aster's dad, or someone really close to the family. I didn't realize the king and queen were implied to be immortal, like that's soooo cool! Keep up the good work!😍😍😍😍

My prediction for the next part: We get Alicia’s version of This Wish (her “I Want” song) and we finally get introduced to Aster! I’m fully hooked & invested in these characters and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I love the villians and their cat already⭐️! (Also I love that you used the deleted scene of the villians from the original movie🤩👍) You did a great job and we all can't wait what happens next

Oh I loved the king and queen. Their characterizations are a perfect blend of the old Disney while being fresh. Well done :). While clearly evil I love the little hints we get from the queen of in some ways being "uncertain" about the king's quest power. If she turns on him at the end, you have set the seeds nicely already. And I also love the cat and its reactions to everything going on, remind me of like an evil Abu (just in how expressive the cat is). And again while not Disney persay I thought the butler in the opening reminded me Chamberlin from the Swan Princess. And even brief, I liked the debt collector's character and his comment to the heavens. Wonderful job and looking forward to the next part. And again a round of applause for everyone working on this masterpiece.

So glad I'm finally caught up with this! I just want to say the backgrounds are absolutely exquisite - they straight up look like classic Disney and I'm obsessed! I also love that the deleted scene with the King and Queen made it in here - it's such a great scene to show their dynamic! I cannot wait to see what you all do next - keep up the awesome work!

I was just thinking this morning about how I hoped a new part would happen soon. You absolutely DELIVERED! This was incredible! Catalina (my apologies if that’s spelled wrong) is gorgeous! And the king is so intimidating! They both truly feel like villains. This was wonderful and I had a great time watching it. Amazing job!

WOW, simply a fantastic job so far, the world building, its characters and dialogue surpass any level that Disney has done in recent years. I hope to see more of the King and Queen's relationship, their evil chemistry of love and at the same time using each other is wonderful. I can't wait to see the chemistry between Star and Alicia. By the way, the animation and style of the characters is looking great, it shows that everyone who is contributing to this loves what they do. Thank you for giving us what we, as Disney fans, deserved. A wonderful story full of magic and heart.

This part was the longest one so far and I liked it. If it's not too much to ask, I hope the next part with Alicia is as lengthy as this one so we can enjoy it longer. I'm definitely wondering what will happen with the evil king and queen. I bet they have something to do with the darkness in Estrallas. Here's my opinion: I sometimes like it when fellow villains have good teamwork despite what they do, but I can see the edge in this evil pair. I do see some "Atlantis" hints. Just one more thing, I can imagine what the older male characters would sound like with professional voice actors like Jeff Bennett or Rob Paulson. I'll at least say this storyboard has great potential of being behind the scenes of a real film studio.

I'm loving the character designs and attitudes! This has a lot of potential!👏 One quick note, I think you should play with the dynamic of this evil couple more. They should be united in their evil goals😈, as well as head over heals for eachother.😍 When the king threatened his wife it just made me think of that bad live action Mulan remake.😵 You know what I'm talking about. Bori Khan constantly talked down to Xianniang even though she was one of his most powerful assets. Their dynamic just didn't make sence to me personally. It's like, "Why is the witch hanging around you? Why is she doing your bidding when you constantly treat her like an inferior?" In this scene you had the Queen whip up a potion that gave her husband magical powers. When the brew didn't do all that the King had hoped it would, the Queen muttered about how she was the reason he had his Kingdom and powers in the first place... It makes no sense.🤔 If she really views him as so powerless and useless, why isn't she drinking these epicly powerful potions herself? For a villain couple to feel truly authentic, the husband and wife need to value eachother more than power, wealth, or anything else that they crave. When the Queen calmed her husband and he spoke of how he knew that there had been a good reason for him marrying her, he shouldn't have gone on to threaten her. He should have spoken of how she always helps him to keep things in perspective. She could have praised him for his determination and promised to stand by his side when he brought the stars to his knees. You should make this an evil power couple! The king should legitimately idolize his evil wife! The Queen should legitimately adore her evil husband! They should both desire to takevover the star kingdom. And the queen shouldn't be doing all the heavy lifting in that goal! If anything you should consider having both the King and Queen be powerful magic users. A sorcerer and sorceress who were drawn to eachother on account of their mutual lust for power. These are just my thoughts on the matter. I thought it couldn't hurt to share them. You're doing a fabulous job! I'm excited to see how this pearl of a story gets polished!👍
