Initial alpha recreation of the "Deorbital Descent" telemetry briefly displayed on one of the Nostromo's terminal screens during the landing sequence on LV-426. Original was on a vector based screen at the then standard 4:3 aspect ratio.
Primary purpose is for me to test the design and layout changes necessary to convert original 4:3 aspect ratio's to be responsive on widescreen formats with minimal future changes. This screen grab is at 16:9.
This was created in JavaScript using the P5.js library, a basic CRT shader, and runs in-browser. Planet animation is in 2D and very incomplete. The aim is to keep it as a 2D animation as opposed to using the more straightforward 3D canvas.
This test does not use the correct fonts, and telemetry variables are simple placeholders. Colors were lifted from a screenshot of the original and are washed/not final. Some masking flaws are also still present. This video is not a loop.
