Demos recorded with the original line-up #2 in 1989 for the Shiftin' Gear album.
This line-up split up later that year before the completion of the album and was
relesead as duo by Pete Sandberg and Tony Borg with a different sounding, more
guitar driven. Some songs were released in the 'Best & Rare' compilation in 1997.
01 . Easy Livin' 00:00
02 . How Long 04:58
03 . Desperate Dreams 09:34
04 . Name of Love 14:50
05 . In the Dead of Night 19:20
06 . Hold On Move On 23:43
07 . 21st Century Man 28:15

At least these demos sounds more like their first album...and Alien's first album is the one that really got me in to AOR/MELODIC HARD ROCK.

Better than the actual album

I agree. The one they released in 1990 sounds like a completely different band, not Alien.

I always thought How Long was too good of a song to be left off of this album. What a gem.

There are so many great songs that were left out of this album. And the production (drum machines) in 'Shiftin' Gear' really sucks too if compared to the 80's vibe in these demos.
