It’s a bit of both as (gonna gush a bit sorry) the xeno is programmed to always know generally where you are, but not actually where you are. The difficulty settings make it so that it will either know more or less, and also gives you rooms for error. It is also something of an a.I. which means that it will learn from its mistakes and from your actions. So with this in mind, on a harder difficulty, if you always hide under the tables, it will look there far more often then if you switch up you hiding spots or play on an easier setting. For me personally, I try to stick toy rule of thumb, which is don’t spend to long in a single hiding spot, and early on try to not to use hiding spots very often, especially vents, instead using tools and terrain to keep myself hidden.
@@otallono If you touch its tail, it'll immediately find you. Staying perfectly still beneath or beside something can get you caught out if you arent actively keeping aware of it's position because the tail can get you. Saw a guy get caught because he was up against the back of a desk and the tail brushed under it as it checked the other side.
Demetrius Reyes Uh, maybe on Easy or if there’s an elevator right next to you. Running is practically a death sentence on a higher difficulty. Bad advice.
you can only run from humans and robots, even so it's only safe if the alien isn't lurking around in the area. other than that if you run when the alien is wandering around you can kiss yourself goodbye lol
@@billyhenerson2871 damn, fr? Just beaten the game on Medium difficulty. So I’m prepared for hard. Wish me luck, and I hope I don’t walk around too much.
I was impressed how smart was the Alien on Nightmare difficulty. It was catching almost from every hiding place. I wasnt even making noise. It keeps tracking you like its alive or smth 😱
@@peekaboo8967 not true at all. Devs mentioned that yes, the game knows where you are but the Alien doesn't. They wanted the Alien to look for you on its own, otherwise It would be totally unfair. The thing with Hard and Nightmare difficulty is that the creature is extremely smart.
Bruh, that's called, becoming that old RU-vid Legendary video of the nerd that Rick-punched his fist through his computer screen playing the scary maze game. Pissed pants and the VR remote being Yeeted through the screen included.
@@jed52 imagine hookin up your fuckin PlayStation in your bathroom. Lmao 📺 🎮 🚽 Or you could just get a “shit bucket” like the pros do in the game “Battlefield.” 🪣 lol
The thing that terrifies me the most about this game is actually when you realize that the Alien is much more smarter than you give it credit for. You would THINK you could outsmart it like all other game AI's but the moment you see that it outsmarted you is when you come to the conclusion that you're F'd. Lol
Dude, you ever tried challenging it with the flamethrower? it just stands there looking at you, and if you move backward, it follows cautiously. This is because they added to the game adaptive AI where the more you do something with the alien, the less likely they work. If you use noisemakers too much for example, they stop working as well, they lose interest on them faster.
@@superblahman Haha, love that. This game has one of the best AI's I've ever seen. I heard this game failed to really get popular though? Which I'm suprised to hear.
@@superblahman This is the first time this game has come up on my feed I didn't know it ever existed.. maybe because I was looking up new horror movies
of course he does! the alien is programmed to know where you are at all times! not only that but all it does is HUNT you n show up to cutscenes. the ai for the alien is super intelligent! if you continue hiding under tables the alien will realise that n learn from where u have been hiding and continue to check!(sorry to gush but i love talking about this topic and teaching others!)
@@HugoStiglitz88 Right. If it knew your EXACT position... Then why the fuck would he not come running at you every single time you spawn? lol #SpawnTrap
On nightmare mode it acts as if it were the real thing. Much smarter than you, can track you down with one sound and never give up. If you manage to escape to a hiding spot, it will let you go on purpose like a cat playing with its food. It knows you’re there, but it’s almost like it allows you to live just out of entertainment.
the second clip shows an exploit. The alien clearly was able to see him hiding under the two desks. The keyword here being the two desks. He was hiding below the one that is farther, so the AI is not able to execute the kill animation. It is a really comon explot in most game like this. The enemy needs you to be in a specific set of conditions for the kill to occur, you being relatively close to it being one
I was thinking the same thing, it's obviously a coding error rather than the alien "not seeing him". You'd think the programmers would have picked up on this kind of bug/neglect, when they're perfectly aware that the ai has been hard scripted interact with a single object for it to function, yet they put two objects with different scripting next to each others that the player can navigate between, and the programmers wouldn't forsee this problem coming?
it's the only game where you'll be terrified even while sitting in a closet and knowing that the alien is not in the room, because you're too terrified to walk out of it P.S. - Support Ukraine🇺🇦
One of the most scary thing is how quickly it change behavior so radically. It stalks slowly but as soon as it sees you it gets rabid and hunts you down and with those screeches and loud as fuck foot stomps.
I could never play this game as i get freaked out even by little snippets like this - I was in line to see the movie 1st released on the big screen and I've never, ever had movie experience like since. It was so immersive and believable ...
This game used to have my heart in my ass😂 like even though I’m not playing or in the situation, I still cover my mouth everytime the xenomorph looks down
the alien is literally only programmed to HUNT you and teleport to cutscenes. the xenomorph also learns from your actions and gameplay and has no setcourse. theres no out thinking it..
For anyone wondering what the guy on the video said here it is: He said "haha ele deu a volta" Witch in Portuguese brazilian kinda means like he turned on and got him by the other side
(Alien walks around the whole desk continuously. Checks under desk. The music is SO FREAKING INTENSE. And the suspense is unmatched.) “Jesus Christ!” “Just fucking kill him already!” Lol - Me
this game is something fucking else man. I had a moment where I fucked a save and ended up right in front of the alien every time I loaded the game up, so I downloaded a trainer just to get past it and get to the nearest other save point. Even when the alien is physically unable to see you through cheats it was still fucking terrifying.
Yeah I hated when he goes through another door then stops moving you cant detect him then you get up to go your merry way and the next door you open he is standing there
The only horror characters I've been scared of are fnaf animatronics, the ring girl, killer croc from Arkham asylum, and the xenomorph from the alien game.
Me: Ha! You can't get around the pause menu! Developers: Let's make this kid cry (starts making a game where pause doesn't work) Me And my big fat mouth
Isolation bro jeez my guy decided to stand cancel or cancel crouch to peak from the side of the desk even tho he could just listen in for it all I gotta say that table scene go hard if it was me I would stayed there for a while you I'm sure that thing ain't lurking
