confirmed the aliens do have eyes and noses underneath their domes. there is a theory however their second mouth is also lined with sensory tissue to help the alien track an what not. unconfirmed if they can detect pheromones given off by the body but a feature commonly seen an used in the games.
@John S First of all, thanks for necro posting on a 5 year old comment. And by scripted events I meant places the alien always spawns, such as the medical area and habitation. There are several levels where you can avoid spawning the alien if you are quiet and careful enough. Also, where exactly in my comment does it say I "didn't die once"?
It's so bad because it's required to play the game properly. I just began my own play through and I keep muting my sound because im so terrified only to turn it back on so I'll know where the xenomorph is
crayzmoe 45 minutes!? It usually can pick you out if you stay in one area too long, I stayed under a table for about 26 minutes once and he kept checking (patrolling) the area and eventually started looking under stuff!
6:17 ok this moment is really epic... the device is faulty and you hear the sound coming from somewhere only to see it’s slobber slowly dripping and lowering it’s head and you finding the nick of time to hide MYGOD THIS GAME IS BRILLIANT.
@@the_fabulous_p14 yea tru it didn't lowered it's head (now that I watch it again after 2 years lmao). Wow I forgot I ever watched or commented this haha.
@@mrspeaker5446 it would be scary if they had echo location. You could only hide behind things to keep safe. Hearing is much scarier a concept than seeing because its potentially a 360 degree sensory; you wouldnt know that it found you because it didnt detect you by line of sight.
I don’t think the alien ever comes out of that vent at that part of the game cause it would make it a lot harder if you had to deal with an Android and the xenomorph at the same time
@@bradmace6144 really? I played on nightmare or the hardest difficulty and it never ever came out I even used a noise maker to try and see if it will come and fuck up the Android which it didn’t
@@tomokisakurai3997 I am pretty sure dude. Because I remember seeing a video in this exact area. Where the alien and the android react to each other. He says something like "unrecognised organism detected". :)
I just beat this game for the first time. I can’t tell you the relief that accompanied successfully making to each save kiosk. Then again, I’m guessing most here already know. Though I’ve heard people say they straight ignore the save stations and start the chapter over when they die. And while I can “admire it’s purity”, I don’t think I’d be able to pull off coming close to beating it and dying more than a couple times without fucking up my controller.
Wow, you were able to run all the way to the exit after setting off the alarm. Every single time I have tried to run that part I am killed by the alien. I just crawl it if I want to live. Half the time the alien is waiting for me anyway and i have to add another 10 minutes of sneaking onto my journey.
Hey, I know I’m late. But if you still haven’t passed this part. I want to give you a suggestion that you shouldn’t run on that part. You should mostly walk or only crouch (depending on the difficulty) so you can keep a watch on the ceiling vents so you can be careful.
Fuckin love the close calls that come with playing this game, I've had a some that I had to check my pants after, and thankful that I didn't get a heart attack when those too close for comfort moments came in. Made the game worth every second and kept the adrenaline pumping from the fear since the only way to play is full scale immersion.
They don’t make these and dead space ki d horror games anymore last i played was metro exodus which wasn’t that scary as metro last light i am personally huge fan of these type of horror games
@@donkeykongisbetterthanmari7495 the game is like 10 years old it was developed with old hardware it would be cool if we got something like this with the tech game devs have now
You know player is smart when he knows when to use the motion tracker at the right time. After putting it off he tracked the alien while hiding just by looking at the tail. Small thing, maybe, but a lot of players just keep using the motion tracker when it's unnecessary 😩 oh lord
It just infuriates me when people don't crouch, even if you walk (not run) still the alien can sense your presence, its not as worse as running, but its bad. Crouching may be slow, but its enough for moving from one cover to another
I just watched through the PewDiePie playthrough of Alien Isolation and honestly this play was so much smoother. I can tell the player knew what they were doing haha.
I think it was only your first or second playthrough, because you are very cautious. Anyway, great video, legendary game! I wish they would have implemented two more, much harder, difficulties than Nightmare though.
In the hospital mission I had the Zeno literally drop out of the vent right on top of me. And I don't mean from the drool trap the literal active Zeno in hunt mode.
Okay but how did you carry that noise maker around without the alien hearing you? I bring out that thing for a second and he runs across the room to get me!!
@@ahhhyuppp6400 It can hear the beeping of the motion tracker if it's close to you. It can hear your footsteps if you run around. Walking and crouching are fine.
@@Machinarium7 What annoys me Is that last section you ran from the power plant to the exit. It took me an hours to stealth my way through that section hiding under the gurneys and going through the ER (then not realising that cutscene doesn't save and quitting only to come back to the bloody power plant) as I worked my way around. I have no idea why the alien didn't just drop and chase you on the floor when it heard you running like it seemed to for me.
@@ahhhyuppp6400 There is a radius around the alien where he can hear you walking, but overall it's safe. Crouching is silent, but inadvertently push objects while crouching and he's gonna search in your direction .
MrAndrei Gamer yea...it's in the upstairs area in the first Android level(communications tower) in the room next to showers, it's right after u get motion tracker n proceed through the level. 3 month late reply but eh
I'm huge fan of the alien movies and the best game ever made it's alien isolation game 🎮 because I love playing it on hard mode and it's far more depth and very very terrifying
Very late response but yeah, it’s a reference to the original Alien film. Ash, the Android, does a movement like that in secret as they don’t know he’s an Android, and doing that loosens up an Androids joint system.
There’s also another reference to Ash in the game. When you find the dead man in the chair at the synthetic fluid plant with the magazine rolled up and shoved down his throat, that’s how Ash tried to kill Ellen Ripley.
I think I tried it on hard mode but still you never know how long you have before the xenomorph is on your face and your flashlight 🔦 and I don't want to use that tracker for long because eventually it will find you
The first moment the spit drips down... Oof close one but oke doing fine... The second time... Oh fuck you alien really right now... Thinking it's safe.. nearly attempts to go past it Alien is gonna hang there again... WTF The music is also throwing me off
I know this video is old now but still going to comment cause it free. *Me as a Nightmare veteran* "What if you wanted to go to heaven but God said "Speed run this in nightmare mode."
06:15 I'm pretty sure that's scripted. I played this game a few weeks ago and I remember dying a lot after that checkpoint (you have to escape from the alien and some people and walk a lot until finding the next checkpoint), so I repeated it multiple times and the alien was in that vent 99 % of the time. I tried doing first the other generator and the alien moved to the other vent to catch me xD
Jesus that is one of my biggest hates with people playing this game. Let's hold the radar up while we can CLEARLY SEE THE ALIEN. Drives me fucking mental...
You do know that the motion tracker tells you where you need to go right? By the line that moves around the edge of its screen? So, even though I can see the Alien, I'm not using the tracker for him, I'm keeping it up so I know where I need to go.
