There's a difference between just saving people and condemning someone to be able to save people. Steve has shown he would never do the latter (unless it's himself). I like to think that Civil War showed the failings of Tony Stark's moral philosophy, while Infinity War showed the failing of Steve's.

@@GlacialScion but there was a 3 option..defeat Thanos...if Wanda fully comitted to save visión life, Thor would show up on time to figth Thanos before he takes the stone. Cap was rigth we shouldn't trade Life, And Thanos it's wrong. She And Starlord save no one And both make a big sacrifice, that got wasted. Meanwile Loki And Dr Strange give away the stones because lífe matter more. And they Will win

I remember when the whole franchise started up, I thought Cap was a bit of a Dudly-Do-Right, but I must admit in Civil War, he proved he is in the right. Everything that went wrong, and is being used to try and persuade the Avengers to sign the accord, can be layed squarely at Tonys feet. Everything Ultron related, including, but not limited to, dropping a city from several thousand meters, Heli-carriers used by Hydra to target anyone with anti-Hydra sentiments. These are all Tonys doing. And yet he is the one who designs and builds the prison to hold his scapegoats. The mark of a true fascist.

Tony isn't a fascist himself, but he is an unwitting tool of fascism. He's far too reactionary and influenced by his emotions. Cap is clear headed and objective, seeing just how easily the Avengers could be exploited to enforce the questionable agendas of the powers that be.

Here is just one big issue for Civil War... the fights were never started by the Avengers. All the damage would have been done anyways. Avengers being there just saved more lives and limited the damage. They are being blamed for the bad guy's crimes. But people forget, they are REACTING to the danger, not the cause...
