This is my homage to the Alien franchise and the beautifully designed Nostromo spaceship. My main goal for this project was to increase my skills in environment art but also my knowledge of Lumberyard which would only serve to help me in my professional day job where I work as a 3D artist working on Star Citizen. From the beginning, once I had the environment finished I really wanted to push myself further and create a short cinematic video to help polish my skills in cinematography and video editing.
(All music and sound effects are copyrighted) I do not own them, this is purely fan art.

Good grief, how did I only just find out about this now!! Absolutely *AMAZING* work !! I was ~7 years old when Alien came out, and was blown away by it. Truly fantastic what you have made here.

I saw Alien in the theaters when it came out in 79. I was 16. This homage you've created is nothing short of stunning. Well done.

This is absolutely awesome - in terms of design it's between Alien and Alien: Isolation and I love that, it feels new yet so faithful at the same time. Such an incredible amount of detail down to even the design of the monitors in the ceiling which is stunning. The scripted sequences look brilliant and I love your take on the cryo pod room, feels so lived-in that it's actually quite amazing. Only bad thing I spotted - the use of Seegson logos, that'd never have been aboard the Nostromo! Superb.

Hey Matt, Thank you for the comment, and yes I wanted to hit the mark and do the film and the game justice. I used the film mainly for my reference but as and when I needed reference for a part of the ship that wasnt on screen in the film I used the game to help fill in the blanks. The game was heavily used as a source of reference, I couldnt have done it as good without that.

That scene is only the opening scene of ALIEN ISOLATION but I really like it Ian Stewart and thanks for making this animation because ALIEN ISOLATION is my favorite movie and I'm gonna thank you a second time forthis animation is that I like to go more in detail inside the NOSTROMO starship.

That's amazing I have drawn up the exterior of the ship in Catia, but it is CAD and is slow plus no textures etc.

I’m gonna get right to it people say all the analog buttons and knobs don’t look futuristic well think of this , you’re in deep space & if a malfunction happens do you want a high tech digital device to fix or do you want a nice easy analog switch or button that can be easily replaced within seconds just think about it what would be easier for you to fix in a extreme emergency, a Nintendo switch or an old transistor radio 📻 if you do the math and use a little bit of common sense it makes perfect sense that a deep space tug would use analog buttons switches and panels

The Nostromo is my favorite fictional space vessel. This rendering is so amazing I can't imagine how many hours of work it took to do this. I wish this was a trailer for "Nostromo: The Simulation". I want to be able to walk around in this. The Nostromo level in Alien: Isolation was cool but aside from deck one the ship in that game didn't feel right at all. I'd pay good money for a fully simulated ship based on the floor plan in the Alien blueprints book. Too bad that it's such a niche product that it will probably never be made. Great job!

Great CGI tribute to a truly visually-stimulating cinematic feast, but you left out one thing: the crew themselves. Maybe on your rendering platform it can't do animated figures? Nice job anyway!

Hey Adam, the assets were made by myself, using mainly the film and when needed I used Alien Isolation as a huge source of reference when recreating the models. (to get the correct angles and size of the props/assets. This was a real challenge as I had to use my eye to recapture their authenticity.
