I own an Alien and have put thousands of rounds through it in competition. I do not have very much experience with 2011 guns but the Alien did outshoot my two CZ competition guns to the point where I sold them.
Definitely can understand that. You'd be impressed with certain 2011s, but I definitely still believe you'd come away thinking they still can't top the Alien
Thanks for the review. I have a different opinion. I enjoy shooting the Alien. I also added brass lox grips. But you never mentioned the heat issue. After about 150-175 rounds if you're running consecutive drills. That baby gets hot. After 200 rounds, you have to give it a timeout. 😂 Shooting my Atlas Titan rds v2. 400 rds training and some regular target practice. Cool as a cucumber. My Bul UR Shorty, same thing. No heat issues. I've also shot my buddies Alien Creator. Same thing, heat limits your round count. Everyone has a difference in practice rounds.I was told about the heat issue from a competition shooter who ran a Alien before I purchased. Dry fire with the included snap cap. And no excessive mag dumps. So i can't place the Alien above my other DS guns. Great gun. But the heat issue is a huge negative.
Definitely agree about the heat problem. Never been able to take that many consecutive shots in succession before, but I definitely know it would be an issue if the scenario called for it. That said, unless you're in a situation that calls for 150+ shots in a short time frame, I'd imagine it would be a rare nuisance. Still, it's a relevant gripe.
