James Cameron is almost a DaVinci level of genius. The fact that he could draw/design, build sets, write and direct a series of the most Iconic movies over 3 decades.... people talk about Spielberg as this pinnacle of movie genius but Cameron is it for me.
this a thousand times this he truly is a genius. i understand that not everyone needs to love the stories he loves, but the levels of competency in all those departments speak to an ability that rarely appears in the fields of film and visual media

it's a humongous relief that they had jim commentating on his own for this one cause he's such a jerk when he talks with other people. on his own you can really appreciate his thinking and explanations because there's no one else for him to talk over, interrupt, degrade, rebut, etc. the last movie commentary I listened to had jim and another guy together and I had a nightmare that night where James Cameron was talking to me for seems like forever, but it was a hyper jerky version of himself from the commentary, just being a totally condescending, jerky, snarky, stuck up a-hole to me all night in my dreams. I woke up and felt so disgusted!
Now I know why Alien 3 and Ressurection are so lame and bad. Weaver. Thanks lady. So she got more power in say so after Aliens and the writers of the subsequent films had to bow down to her. Also found the producer's telling of the permanent sound studios workers to be very insulting. They were working class and just doing their jobs and not sucking up to a movie producer. Sounds like she doesn't think those workers assigned to each stage/studio should earn decent steady wages and keep their full time jobs. Now everyone's freelance so people like this producer can fire them at a moment's notice. Women can be so annoying.
