Funny, I'm feeling 110% the other way. Maybe drop the EQ so it's sitting a bit more in the "background", but it almost felt like it filled the empty space in between the back-and-forth in the conversation & shift in topic. Overall, ended up feeling like a super organic, chill conversation between mates about watches. As they came onto the table, I would love to see cutaways to a close-in of each watch, with specs, price, etc

Talking about maintaining a vintage luxury watch, it really is a chore and quite a ding in the pocketbook. I recently sent a vintage Omega (in family since new) back to Switzerland to be completely restored by Omega and it cost me almost $3,000 U.S.!!! I never would have done it if it wasn't a family heirloom. I have multiple luxury watches and multiple Aliexpress watches, It's the latter I wear *FAR* more often.

The 1970 was my first Ali watch. And it’s stil amazing. And I agree I don’t mind buying a homage of a watch which isn’t in production anymore. I really want a Doxa 300, but I can’t make myself buy a Seestern or a Pagani or so. Nice video guys!

By The Way, Guys, please beat up ANY brand using the moronic “24 hr” sub dial. It is there for decoration. Just get a Vostok GMT. Seiko can just as easily provide a very useful 12 hour totalizer. I am an old pilot. These decisions made by Ali Express brands are maddening. A 12 hr. totalizer will keep you alive. Rant over. Thanks

I looked up Hroudland. It's the Old High German form for Roland as in "Song of Roland", one of Charlemagne's (or Karl der Grosse's if you want to stick with German) military leaders. I leave it up to you to decide how many drugs you would need to take to come up with that for a Chinese watch brand name.

First of all. Thank you for the great content, I would ould like to see more of it. Looks very relaxed snd unscripted from you guys. I think one of the main practical reasons against quartz (beside the whole mechanic-romantic stuff ;)) is, when you have so many watches it is quite a horror to think about the mass of battery changes and how many of the batteries eill bleed out and destroy the movements because you haven't done it in time. Thank you for the kind feedback! I personally feel that if my mechanical watches are running and keeping relatively good time over the course of a day I'm ok with it, and with a quartz, if it happens to have stopped when I pick it up, I can't just wind it up and go. But having said that, there is the servicing costs to think about... and very good point there about changing a bunch of batteries and leaking batteries... maybe we get Jody to talk more about that next time!!

I still check them out for ultra cheap work watches, when my first, Shark watch I think, alloy case, quartz, corroding away, still ticks, and does the job 10 years later is madness, I suppose that is the definition though.. hmm.

I found a Benyar watch with a Sainless Steel engraved at the case back. However, just both a Tandorio field watch with a logo because it is giving some balance to the dial. Their logo is not bad I think. And it is a great value, 200m wr, sapphire crystal, nh35... All the best guys...

Steel dives new upgraded clasp is alot better just wished thee overall consistancy QC would be the same with every piece ive a few SDs and all different.. Where as SM ...well the two i own SN012g & SNOO8g are flawless in QC both equal ... But do love SD certainly getting better ....

I don't agree with the photo copier mindset. On one hand the presenters are saying they should have made an exact copy. So they want a fake. On the other hand the presenters want innovation. I think a homage should not be a copy. It should be inspired by the original it is mimicking and add something to move the needle.

Hruodland is medieval latin for "Roland" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland). Jody, you may be right about your comment that this brand name has a German background since on some of their (gorgeous) IWC-Fliegerchronograph homages you'll find the name of Erich Hartmann on the dial just below the date window, the most "successfull" (rather: "deadly") fighter pilot of WW2 and this was probably not the idea of a Chinese, rather a German marketing manager. Apart of that hard to pronounce brand name (...guess "rootland" will do) Hruodland is amongst the best of all AliExpress watch brands. By the way: The Nazi Martin Bormann has one "n" more in his name and "Genauigkeits Instrumente" is bad German. A German would use "Präzisionsinstrument" or rather "Präzisionsuhr".
