@cliff5043 1. He denied the defendant the right to call witnesses. 2. He denied the defendant the right to have the actual charges given to him at any point in the case. 3. He failed to conduct himself in a way that applies equal justice under the law. 4. He is profiting off of his prosecution of the defendant. Explain why? This just has followed the letter of the law, and has given Donald Trump more leniency that any other American would ever get. What's more, when the Trump lawyer first filed a recusal request months ago, judge Merchan even took the extra steps to actually go before the Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics review board and ask them of their opinion. The examined all the facts, and they all said there was no conflict or reason for recusal. Then later, when an individual did file with the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, it was reviewed again. And again, they unanimously agreed that Merchan has violated nothing and has no conflict of interest.

No politics involved here (well other than Trump using the trial as a media appearance). This is only the pursuit of justice. The investigations for ALL of the cases that Trump is currently in were started before he announced that he was running again. Even this grand jury had voted to indict Trump before he said he was running again. Kind of hard to explain that. No, the whole thing of Trump running for President and the court cases is actually backwards from your proposal. Trump is not on trail because he is campaigning. The truth is that Trump is running for President again BECAUSE of the criminal investigations (that were already underway) and criminal charges. Not true. But the jury will decide guilty or innocent. The real question is, will you accept the verdict? It seem obvious by your comment that if they find him innocent, then you will loudly tell everyone that you were right all along. But the bigger question is, if they find Trump guilty will you be man enough, or the honest type of person, who will use that same loud voice to admit to everyone that you were wrong. Are you strong enough and honest enough to do that? I know that I am, but are YOU?

@cliff5043 it is true, there is absolutely no way this will survive appeal. This judge is blatantly biased. Jury pool is all democrats. Judge didn't allow defense enough strikes during jury selection. Judge is a donor to joeke campaign. Judge's daughter works for DNC. Judge issues a one sided gag order that punishes only Trump. Judge allows testimony with no probative value just to slander Trump and prejudice the jury. Case should have been dismissed as even the Feds and FEC noted no wrong doing. This is all clearly political persecution by dems.

Explain why you think the judge is bias? What has he done that shows his bias? This judge has followed the letter of the law, and has given Donald Trump more leniency that any other American would ever get. What's more, when the Trump lawyer first filed a recusal request months ago, judge Merchan even took the extra steps to actually go before the Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics review board and ask them of their opinion. The examined all the facts, and they all said there was no conflict or reason for recusal. Then later, when an individual did file with the State Commission on Judicial Conduct, it was reviewed again. And again, they unanimously agreed that Merchan has violated nothing and has no conflict of interest.

Very simple. It is has NOT been going poorly for the prosecution, despite what Fox and the Trump's minions have been spouting. The prosecution has actually do of great job of presenting hard evidence and testimony to not only tie Trump to the crimes, but to show that were done at his request. Dream on. Trump's support continues to shrink, Much smaller than when he lost in 2020. Now, he is losing about 20% of register Republican voters to someone not even running anymore. Many of these are Republicans who say they will vote for Biden, instead of Trump. Also, as much as 30% of Republicans say they will not vote for Trump if he has even one felony conviction (which looks likely now). That includes 5% of MAGA rally goers. Dems have always outnumbered Republicans. How can Trump win when millions of Republican will also vote for Biden (my whole family included).

If I were a juror on this case, I would be suing the court for lost wages. The $10 or $20 a day for jury pay is not enough to cover the wages lost that are needed for food or rent. All for this?? No. This is why a lot of people will do anything to get out of jury duty,

Wrong about the reason. It is only the pursuit of justice. The investigations for ALL of the cases that Trump is currently in were started before he announced that he was running again. Even this grand jury had voted to indict Trump before he said he was running again. Kind of hard to explain that. No, the whole thing of Trump running for President and the court cases is actually backwards from your proposal. Trump is not on trail because he is campaigning. The truth is that Trump is running for President again BECAUSE of the criminal investigations (that were already underway) and criminal charges. Being President is the ONLY thing that will keep him out of prison. Because he knows he is guilty.
