Aline" aurait pu être un personnage fictif, imaginé par Christophe. Mais elle a bel et bien existé, comme l'a révélé le chanteur en 2016, plus de cinquante ans après la sortie de la chanson. Aline, c'est Aline Natanovitch, une Polonaise qui s'occupait du vestiaire d'un club la nuit et qui était assistante dentaire boulevard du Montparnasse le jour, comme l'a raconté Christophe. Le chanteur aurait eu une petite histoire avec elle et a composé en quinze minutes cette sublime chanson.

Funny when I first heard the song without subtitles I could hear the guys heart broken. I then found this, read the lyrics and its strange because the emotion he put into this- the beauty of the accompanying band along with its meaning truly transcended the barriers of language. I love this song so much that I'm happy my grandmother suggested this name as my middle name. It's very beautiful and unique name in my opinion. Plus love France culture/ language I'm currently trying to learn French it's difficult but trying my best😀🙂.

Lagu ini mengingat kan ku pada suatu kejadian. Saat itu sekitar bulan Januari 2012, saya pulang dari Semarang ke Bumiayu. Dari Semarang pukul lima sore, sampai di Tegal sekitar jam delapan malam. Di Tegal (mall Pasifik) menunggu bis lama sekali, sampai sekitar jam sepuluh malam belum juga ada. Setelah saya tanya beberapa orang ternyata memang tidak ada bis dari Tegal yang menuju Bumiayu, sebab di Ciregol sedang terjadi longsor dan memutus jalan. Wah berarti saya tidak bisa pulang dong. Saya berpikir harus mencari tempat untuk bermalam, akhirnya saya putuskan jalan ke arah selatan sambil mencari barang kali ada masjid yang bisa ditempati. Tapi nasib kurang baik ternyata sedang disekitarku. Semua masjid yang saya jumpai pintunya tertutup, bahkan untuk masuk ke teras saja tidak bisa karna memang pintu gerbang juga ditutup. Saya melanjutkan perjalanan ke arah selatan, barang kali nanti menemukan tempat untuk menginap. Alhamdulillah setelah berjalan cukup jauh saya melihat ada Mobil AMBULANCE milik Rumah Sakit Siti Aminah Bumiayu. Saya beranikan ngomong ke supir untuk ikut Ambulance ke Bumiayu, dan Alhamdulilah diperbolehkan. Jadi ingat kata peri bahasa, tidak ada rotan akar pun jadi. Yah tidak apa-apalah naik Ambulance yang penting sampai ke Bumiayu. Inilah pertama kalinya naik Ambulance dan semoga tidak akan naik Ambulance lagi. (Naiknya di belakang ya, soalnya sopirnya sama suster). Jam setengah satu dini hari baru lah tiba di Bumiayu, saya turun di depan BCA. Karna masih dini hari saya tidak langsung pulang, seperti halnya di Tegal saya mencari masjid untuk menginap. Tapi sama saja, di Bumiayu juga Masjidnya sudah dikunci. Akhirnya saya ke Warnet depan Rumah Sakit Umum Bumiayu (Sekarang RSUD Bumiayu), Alhamdulillah masih buka. Dengan harga paket malam akhirnya saya tidur di warnet. Inilah pertama kali saya dengar lagu Aline yang dinyanyikan Cristophe.
