It might be a bit silly, but whenever I hear an Elphaba I haven't listened to before, I judge them on three songs: Wizard and I (because it's the first time you hear her sing) Defying Gravity(becasue it's the most important song) and No Good Deed (becasue it's my favourite). Most Elphies are 2/3 for me. EXCEPT for this goddess. Wizard and I hooked me. Defying Gravity made me cry, and No Good Deed made me almost pass out hahaha. I miss her. I worked as an Usher in Minnesota in 2013 for this tour. I worked/saw her perform all 70+ shows. I even stage doored after a couple of shifts so I could hug her. I love her. She will forever be my favourite Elphie. ❤
Jennifer’s diction and direction with her “just. say. your sorry” still lives in my mind rent free. Truly in my opinion the best delivery of this line I’ve ever seen and heard (and I’m a slut for Wicked who’s basically heard them all)
It is so distracting and bad that the Glinda is reacting to every beat of the music. YOU CANT HEAR IT. This is supposed to be diegetic and conversational. Why is she nodding on every beat? Can she not count in her head?
