I didn’t realise until now, about what Pastor Begg was saying regarding our identity when we were young, we thought relied on how many friends we had, how good looking we were or weren’t, how well we were/are educated etc. is all irrelevant when experienced in contrast with being in Christ. I was bullied at school from before I even reached 5 years old and all throughout childhood. As a consequence, I couldn’t concentrate at school so I was in a low class in high school and they more or less didn’t bother to even try to teach us. I also had no friends other than fair-weather friends. I didn’t have a good job. It all really fed the resentment and the root of bitterness that had a strangle hold on my mind, heart and soul. Now that I am in Christ, all that is now irrelevant! I don’t need any of the things that social culture says is essential for our validation. I have Christ!

Mr. Ardavanis is such a good interviewer (or whatever you might call it). He adds to what they say without interrupting, knows when to ask questions, and keeps it all on topic. I love it!

This discussion makes me hurt for my children because of my failings as a parent. I wasn't godly in raising them. I was a spineless coward and now I see how lost they are as young adults.

Pray and communicate with them. Talk to them. Tell them you love them. Treat them now as you wish you would have treated them when they were young children. Give them all the love and attention you can. Listen to them be there for them. Don't be afraid to do this. Except for your spouse they will always be the most important thing and your biggest responsibility in this physical universe. Start today and don't stop. It's not too late. If you don't have a relationship with them tell them you want that.❤ I pray for you.❤

I join you in that pain…I’m often in tears listening to messages like that, knowing how I “went thru the motions” as tho they’d catch salvation by osmosis. And they did not. Now I have three adult kids,two married with grandkids, and they’re following the terrible model set by their parents. We’ll keep praying…I’ll pray for you as well. Our heavenly Father is almighty - nothing is too hard for HIm!!!

Take Voddie’s advice and abolish the youth ministry. They need to be in the church service with their parents and grandparents.

Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses, ' is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.

@Sherlock245 11 месяцев назад
@@ebenezercunningham9073 I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord’s “‘affairs” how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of this world” how he can please his wife” and his interests are divided. Be devoted to the lord rather then burn for your spouse. Come on dude!!! Are you solider for christ then castrated!!! There is no backing off!! Your in or out!!!🤓 Sexual desire no excuse like the military. You can't handle it get married if not let get to it and castrate castrate castrate soldier!!!!!!!!!!!!! Men will be so much better off in church rather then sniffing for a spouse and getting into all sort of trouble!!! Studies have shown castrated men live longer.
@Sherlock245
@Sherlock245 11 месяцев назад
@@ebenezercunningham9073 600,000 men in USA are castrated. Stories you dont hear a church “I was castrated because my sex drive was out of control. I was in debt from phone chat rooms and those fees. I bought a lot of porn. Paid for sex and met someone who abused me and took my money. My life was a mess. I needed riskier sex to feed my addictions. I put 100,000 miles on a car in two years out looking for a thrill. I needed to stop those actions,” wrote one anonymous member. Male sex hormones also predispose men to adverse cardiovascular attacks.

I'm hearing you, but there are real-life issues that pastors have to try and deal with. 1) Getting married is the norm and, from a pastoral perspective, puts them into known categories where there are decades of wisdom in dealing with their issues. 2) The modern church doesn't know what to do with single people after they get too old for young adults, they don't want to learn, and there's the whole #MeToo/Hillsong suspicion that haunts you as well. Remember, just as was mentioned, these pastors are people who rarely have close friends and are greeted with a Monday morning Inbox full of whining negativity about what they didn't like about the Sunday service or the message that was preached. I've been in and around church leaders for decades and this is something the average Joe never gets to hear about. I moved interstate and I'm single and over 40. If you're not married with children, you're not going to last in a lot of churches. I've tried breaking into quite a few over the years (socially, that is) and they all have the same feel once they know you're not married with children. It's hard not to feel the bristles of that #MeToo/Hillsong brush when I'm talking to my own age group. I heard from one minister that, traditionally, church leaders encouraged people like me to go to the mission field for the sake of both of them. I have unchurched friends over 40 who don't have children and I seriously wonder where I could direct them to a church home if they became Christians. Church people now seem to be uncomfortable around those that aren't situationally like them. I'm not trying to paint all churches with the same brush, but just keep an eye out to see if this rings true in your situation. The church I grew up in wasn't like this, but they also had a lot of the inter-age contact being mentioned here.

@@dm1978 thanks for long reply just one reponse for now dont send them to modern churches. The theology is all sour so it wont help but a good conservstive church helps. People go to church not to date if they go with that in mind things will sour as you know. And not sure about you but most single are because divorce or deep internal issues. And they need deep therapy.

Thinking you don't need other peoples advice or help will very often land you in a world of trouble. Usually brought on by pride this "just me and God" mentality bears fruits of all kinds of evil. God teaches us to help each other. Those who teach to teach, who pray to pray, who support to support. We cannot seperate ourselves from our brothers and sisters. Being alone with God is crucial but to say that you don't need other peoples advice is foolish and dangerous.
