I’ve never hated on aljo. The facts are that he won his belt by getting beat up. I look at the ufc as close to a real fight as you can get and not just a sport, which is why I don’t agree with how he won the belt. I get that he was concussed because of an illegal move, that entitled him to a rematch not make him undisputed champion of the world. That’s just my opinion and he definitely won his last fight so whatever. Congrats to UFC Bantam weight champion Aljamain sterling.
No one drank any tears people seem to be more divided about the second one. First one he clearly lost the entire time. Second fight you could argue he won and you could argue petr won. Third fight must happen imo
Damn. Stingers in college? I'm. Seahawks fan and I've seen 2 huge careers ended from stingers in the last 10 years, and that's pro football. Aljo had his whole career after a neck injury like that, which is fucking nuts, honestly.

When you look back, that illegal knee was a blessing in disguise(other than his concussion) but for his career it was huge. He got known so much more and now he defends the belt. That's huge. Rather than the first fight (where he was getting rocked) he would have lost and miss his chance at the belt

I hear Aljamain on the i cant do pull ups or push up... One of the main exercises athletes need to be able to perform . I just got my push ups back after a broken wrist. Working in pull ups now !!! 💪

yeah man... I just started push ups only again after an embarrassingly long time.... for some reason tho I never could get myself to be able to do many pull ups at all... no matter how fit I happened to be... can't understand exactly why this is the case but what can I do...?

I had two-layer artificial disc replacement surgery (two discs replaced with two artificial discs in one go). c4-c5 and c5-c6. Prior to surgery, I was bone on bone, mental health on thin ice, physically destroyed. My surgery was back in January of this year. Today, I'm in more pain than before surgery and have suffered some pretty devastating mental blows as a consequence of having a shitty neurosurgeon. I was put on 5 different neuron inhibitors, for pain management. It did nothing for me physically. Mentally, it crippled me. I had double vision, slurred speech, hearing loss, trouble breathing, and became extremely paranoid that I was going to die. I never knew there was a medication capable of silencing your own "head voice" but apparently there is, and it left me completely helpless. I quit taking the medication cold turkey and went through the heaviest withdrawals of my life, lasted weeks. I can do basic home duties but honestly, even putting away laundry fucking kills me, man. I have no idea where to go from here. Currently a stay at home Dad, raising my 2 year old son. I'm hoping time heals all wounds.
I had a great neurosurgeon for my lumbar, but it was months before I could be off the walker because I kept pushing myself. I got put on gabapentin and started hearing voices as the rare side effect and my surgery for L3-L4 disc was in December of 2021. You should probably look for a referral to a different doctor if you are still in excruciating pain because it shouldn't be like that this long. Like my surgeon is rather cold with terrible bedside manner, but master of his craft here in Illinois. If you meditate you'll find your inner voice again and you have allies here that want to see you get better. We fight every day to survive and it seems you are fighting harder than most, you deserve the respect for that and we are proud of you for being strong for your child. Much love and support my friend

I had to have a cervical fusion in my neck while I was still active duty. I've always had a phobia of my neck and spine being injured so it took a lot for me to get the surgery. Props to athletes, esp combat/contact sports guys & gals who fight through those injuries. It really messes with you mentally after something like that.

Hows your neck now? I am having terrible neck issues after years of grappling, and now have disc degeneration in my upper cervical and lower cervical. I am stressed about it. I'm on constant pain, tired and foggy in the head. I need to seek treatments and am terrified of surgery
@@bennym1326 Is artificial disk replacement an option? I heard it works wonders. I have heard it is far better than fusion. You should look into all possibilities. Do you have insurance.
Dude I had a bulging L3-L4 disc that suffocated my spinal cord and made my right leg collapse randomly. Had to get a laminectomy and discectomy to reduce the pressure and that was in December of 2021 and I'm just now starting a feel like I'm making progress now. My right knee looks like trash under x-ray from all the times it slammed in to hardwood flooring and I even left dents all over my home. 6'6" 250lbs hits hard with no ability to tense up the leg to brace it and I still waited a few months after that started to get help. He shocked me and a lot of others. I was pulling for Petr Yan to win. Congrats to Sterling. He dominated him in the 2nd fight Edit; When I say dominated i mean Sterling controlled almost the whole fight. Yall still triggered he won lol get over it. Yan came with no gameplan

Had severe neck issues, numbing and terrible pain down the arm for 6 months. The disc looked obliterated and spilled out on MRI and X-ray. Thought for sure I needed surgery. Then 6 months of posture modification, stretching, strengthening, PT, other stuff and it stabilized. No surgery, thank god. It feels 100% (two years now), even though it still looks like crap on MRI. Still do sports, etc. Neurosurgeon told me, he only does surgery if there is numbness that is not resolving, and that over 80% of cases stabilize itself, with no surgery.

I've been in recovery for the last 11 months from discs C3-C6 in my neck being out of place from a work injury.. The neck injury has been absolutely no joke.. at the time of the first fight I didn't understand that kind of injury and what you were going through.. now that I know first hand the affects it can have in ones life..your comeback to prove it wasn't a fluke on top of the other neck injuries you've had is a huge inspiration to the limp neck crew to stiffen er back up and keep it movin'.. not like you had to relearn how to walk but when your told the severity of that kind of injury and how you need to immediately change how you operate your body and the things you miss out on in life is very tough to get through.. you made it and came back at the top level immediately after your recovery.. an absolute legend moment, no matter what happens with the belt now.. an nft bronze statue of your neck is going up with the statues of Bisbings eye, Joannas forehead, and Jones toe.. but your comment about the joint feeling dry and going cra ca ca ca cahhh made me laugh so hard I almost hurt myself.. cheers to the champ!! I herniated a disc during a MMA class. Did jitz after the class. Trying to sit on my butt was killing me. I thought it was a pulled muscle or something. Did yoga and lots of hot treatments with stretching... got NO lasting relief. Went and did something known as traction after a year. After 1 treatment, I could do several things I couldn't do before. Still bugs me sometimes, but is much better now. Herniated discs suck. Fibrosis in the neck also sucks. Thanks, Coach Atchison!
It's amazing how many people actually deal with bulging disc and nerve issues in the back and neck and somehow science has not advanced in 40 years on it. Makes you wonder if there's a conspiracy around the lack of medical advancement.
