Incase you missed it, I do point out at the start of the video that almost all shoulder pets will give 50% weight reduction for anything inside their inventory once on your shoulder. I was rating these shoulder pets with both games in mind, I would like to say that the Ichthyornis would be a little higher if its Hunt and Retrieve ability actually worked in ASA, it's very useful in Survival Evolved.
Man, I love Bulbdogs and am glad to see them high on the list. The sounds they make and the insane weight they have are the main reasons why i like them ;) and I can not wait for the aberration MAP to get released.
Fun fact,(might be expired but oh well), A bulbdogs well placed can completly kill an alpha basilick since the alpha basilick models is bigger but his attack range don't fit with hisattack hitbox. Why do i know this?. Because we send a bulbdog me and my friend to save ourself but we wonder how is he not dead yet. End up the alpha was bleeding and the bulbdogs level 53 was killing the alpha basilick.

Man... i just cant wait for the Sino to come back. As a solo player who doesnt tend to gather much element for tek suits. the Sino is a life saver. i had the perfect combo of them, argy and anky for the ultimate metal/flint/stone/obsidion gathering team.
I needed this!! Perfectly showcases and detailed video! Only criticism I have is i would put the Sino above the Otter but that is because i'm kinda addicted to them haha, Otter is by far more useful! So I totally understand why they are the best shoulder pet in the game! Great video, thanks Bey!
@@BEYPlaysGames Yeah great vid mate. I too am addicted to the little Sino. I once took a screenshot of a bunch of mine landed in formation and compared it to a photo from a WW2 aircraft carrier showing F4U Corsairs with their wings folded up. Rather remarkable similarity 🤣 I love using them when standing on the edge of a cliff above a Rex so you can shoot the rex and if something comes up behind you or you fall off, you don't have to worry.
It took me far too long to realize the value of the vultures on SE. I snagged one with very high melee and my vulture friend is a great added bit of damage.
As a brand new Ark player who has only been playing a few weeks this video was awesome and educational. I’d tamed the Monkey and the Otter pretty much by accident but clearly I have a lot to learn. Need to get a breeding pair of these and the Dimorphodon and take a trip to Fjordr soon.
@@BEYPlaysGames Honestly, more than you’d expect. I’ve been treating the shoulder pets I have stumbled upon pretty much like a cute cosmetic. Sure it’s cute to have an otter wrapped around my character or a monkey clinging to her but it never occurred to me that they were actually useful.
Great video Bey. I am really annoyed with the Ichthy hunt mechanic being broken on ASA because you could tame a max lvl Hesperonis with the golden fish in 3 feeds, now a lvl 5 Heperonis needs 2000 fish to tame! :P It's messed up my early poly game and on top of that you can bet any Rhynio impregnated dino I try to 100% will ask for a golden egg. Otters can also sus out high lvl dinos and alphas, they make a little squeek when one is close by.

Yeah me too, I would rate it much higher if it was working, it's a great ability but I was trying to order the list having both games in mind so can't really put it too high if it doesn't even work on the one game haha. Yeah Hesperornis is a nightmare to tame, they really need to fix the Ichthy! Thanks again :)

If you ask me, Icthyornis is easily top 5, being able to convert small prey into sources of prime meat is super useful, as well as the fact that flying shoulder pets are easier to transport
Sadly the ability doesn't work in ARK Ascended and i'm rating them for both games so I can't put it so high up on the list! I still would only put it around 12th though if the ability worked as intended XD
I really hope so, they apparently fixed it months ago btw...after reading some previous patch notes haha, I can clarify it didn't work once when I recorded this video XD
@@BEYPlaysGames Dont worry, that patch was just to fix that the Ichthyornis cannot grag creatures propertly (Yeah, the Ichthy on ASA was launched with a lot of important bugs lol)

I can't believe ichryorinis is behind pego and archeopterix... Yes maybe it is far easier to get prime meat in ascended as babies spawn naturally but what about fish prime meat? The second best food item to tame piscivorous creatures such as spinosaurus, baryonyx and pelagornis. All being quite useful creatures
Well it's ability in ARK ascended doesn't work properly which is what makes them great, only reason why it is behind them as I'm kinda trying to find a medium between ranking them in both games, I love the Ichthy in Survival Evolved though! Prime Fish is pretty easy to gather too though, only need to kill a chunky Sabertooth Salmon and chop it up with a Sickle or a Megalodon or 2 and harvest it with a pick, would be enough to tame any of the creatures you mentioned...but yeah, it is lower on the list because of the hunt and retrieve ability not working in ASA!
tbh the mesopithecus is one of my personal favorites for something that happened ages ago I was out gathering wood because I was making a house in the middle of a lake then I got jumped by 4 troodons, so it was safe to say I was passed out on the floor and slowly dying, my argy was too far away to come help, but looking around, low and behold I see my lil buddy in a party hat beating the absolute crap (and throwing it) out of them ever since then any playthrough I tame a mesopithecus and name it Mason (his name) and give it a flak helmet (what I rewarded him with after that event
It’s such a shame that Noglin aren’t breedable/clonable in vanilla. I understand it’s because of PvP, but in PvE, they is almost no point in taming them unless you really like them. Personally I like them. They have an entertaining demeanor and have that “so ugly it’s cute “ vibe.
Yeah it is a shame! Would be nice to have a breeding option but only in PVE mode :D haha, yeah I remember at first I thought they looked cute until it opened its mouth!
I have never played ARK mobile if i'm being honest but i'd like to say that there would be some of the same shoulder pets on this list. From what I have read up anyway! Sounds like they seem to share the same abilities as the regular game too!
omg devs really gave sino every abilities humanity has ever seen and also completely ignored archa like it never existed....sometimes i laugh a lot when they they talk abt balance
Some people actually say it is balanced haha, I agree with you 100% though tbh Sino is pretty easy to tame and Archa may even be more difficult to tame if anything haha but yeah it's very disappointing because the Archa is the best thing we have in ARK Ascended that is the closest thing to the Sino XD
Took 2 days to find an unblocked otter spawn. Took hours to tame because builds despawned nearby fish. Flew over the Redwoods and disconnected...otter died... Playing ark is useless...it doesn't run well, and that can lead to losses, which took hours and days to make....one game crash, and days of work are deleted...it isnt worth it currently...WC released because they needed sales income...WC should have released because it was READY and WORKING...the experience of the player would be much greater if the game was stable....
It's very frustrating. I'm scared of doing normal activities in-game due to the worry of crashing and losing everything! I totally understand how you feel :(
@BEYPlaysGames thats it in a nutshell...you only do what you CAN, you dont play the game...you just use the parts that work...and thats lame, af dude. It was a bad release, and it hasn't gotten any better. I think most just get hooked on loot and dinos. "Got too much to quit playing a terrible game, so ill just use what works in that game to keep my junk from despawning"...they arent playing the actual game, it isnt crash-proof enough...so they use the bit that works. Its a lame experience i dont want any part of.... You should do a vid about this issue. What problems keep players from actually playing the content....why you all just sit in your bases and never take dinos out. What happens when the game crashes and you have losses you cant control. Somebody should embarrass WC into fixing the game. There may be more active players if it wasnt a straight-up gamble every time you render something or fly....
Haha I have always thought about trying it with shoulder pets only! Maybe one day, I have 2 100 days fully recorded already and struggling to edit them quickly XD
