Thanks! It's almost a shame these headphones last for so long, my QC 35 II is still working perfectly fine. I just hate the Micro USB. When they finally give up I'll get the normal QuietComfort. What a terrible branding though, that's gonna confuse a lot of people.
Yup! Love my 35ii bought an extra pair on clearance when they were discontinued just incase lol Starting with the 45 seems like you loose features and also cheaper parts worse sound
My QC25s are still working great. Only reason I keep using them is a replaceable battery. I'm going with the 2023 Quiet comforts so the 25s will now only be for gaming. Yes I've always used my 25s on gaming systems.
I'm on my 3rd pair Ultra. Creaking earcups/hinges when moving my head/jaw, even when walking. It's all over on reddit, amazin reviews, etc. Absolutely awful. I still love them though and properly go for a 4th replacement.
Bought the Quiet Comforts in Green on a whim during BlackFriday! At best buy, saw this review after - and so glad I didn't get the Ultra. I love the tactile buttons. Thanks for the great review 😊
I love my QuietComfort 2 earbuds. I bought a pair of the new Ultras and the new QuietComfort headphones. I found the Ultras to be uncomfortable and the QuietComfort’s feel really nice to wear but Bose have really mucked up here by not including the ActiveSense in Aware Mode function on the QuietComfort’s. I love this feature on my earbuds and I have no idea why they haven’t put this in. I’m sticking with my earbuds and I have returned both the new pairs of headphones.
Great video but to me there is a clear difference between ultra and the qc, The bass is better and they are louder to start with. But I never much liked the QC45 the QC35 were much better. So hoping Bose are now back on track again
I purchased the qc ultras 2 weeks ago. I travel a lot so wanted something really good but comfortable . I figured the best Bose had would fit the bill. I was excited to get these sleek designed headphones. I quickly plugged them in to charge. After 24hours I took them off the charger. Turned them on. The first thing I noticed was it said 70 percent. I really thought was odd. Checked my cable and still had power so not sure why but either way the had a charge. It definitely took some getting used to. The first thing I noticed was the metal didn’t slide very well and would cause you to have to use 2 hands to pull them out and adjust. Same with making them smaller so they fit in the case. I didn’t buy the nc 700s bc to me they were ugly. These are not. The specific way to put in case is annoying and even fully collapsed the barely fit in the case . The spacial audio to me just drains the battery. I was really missing a well rounded sound. Bass was very lacking. On the plane with volume up and set to quiet I couldn’t hear the plane. That was good. The other items above and the fact that the QCs came on sale had me really analyzing the qc ultra. I turned off the auto off . If your adjusting your headphone they pause. I didn’t care for. The power button doesn’t say on or off so you have to wait to see if anc kicks on so you know it’s on. Some pairing issues if you hold it wrong I found it didn’t auto switch between devices like you could do with the qc35ii Overall for the money it was like 501 after military discount and getting the 3 year warranty for them The QC went on sale so returned the ultras and bought the QCs in green. Super excited . They were less than half what I paid for the ultras. I didn’t have to pay extra for the exclusive 2 year warranty on these either
I’m having the QC Ultra over ear headset delivered today to replace my QC35. I have the QC Earbuds and I might upgrade but I did just buy the Airpods2 USB-C. My main problem with the QC Ultra Buds is a lack of Multipoint. I travel with my iPhone and my iPad Pro so the ability to transfer seamlessly is helpful The AirPods do this.
I'm in exactly the same boat, but I got my ultra's yesterday. They are great, but the mic quality leaves a lot to be desired, at least on MS Team calls. Not sure if I'll keep them. Classic toss up vs the much cheaper XM5s.... PS i didn't pay full RRP, got 10% (which is still £400+) for a set of headphones... :(
@@exs304 Bose offers a Military/Veteran discount which for the Ultra was $30 off the $429 price. Free shipping but I did have to pay the WA State Sales Tax of 8.9%
In summary: Aware mode is the best I’ve ever heard (better than AirPod max’s). It’s unbelievable how natural it feels. The only giveaway is the most subtle of hisses. Sound quality - this is personal but I knocked up the base on the eQ to 3 and I the sound quality is 10/10 Immersive modes are a gimmick. But it was always going to be. Better to listen to music as it was intended. Only gripe is call quality. It’s passable but inexcusable at this price. XM5s have these beat hands down in this area. Comfort - much better than my XM3s or AirPod pros (due to weight). After a couple of hours around the house my ears do get a little hot but this is an hour more than I can wear my XM3s so a huge improvement. So in short, a mixed bag, unclear if I’ll keep them at this price, if they were a £300 vs 410 or whatever I paid it would be a no brainer for me.
@@Accountabilio I got these Ultra’s yesterday but only opened them and charged them overnight. Connected them this morning and have a very short time of using them so time will tell. So far they don’t sound a lot different form my QC35’s. The button controls are easy to use. I was able to easily pair them to my IPhone 14 pro max, my iPad Pro and my LG TV. The noise canceling is excellent. The removal of the headset is supposed to stop the played music but I started a new RU-vid video with the headset sitting next to me on my chair and it still played the audio…hmmm. I’ll continue to explore the unit but at this point I’m not prepared to decide if I’ll keep them.
If you don't need excellent microphone quality then all three Bose products are awesome. If yes then please do yourself a favor and take either the Sony WH-1000XM5 as headphone and/or literally any other in ear headphones.
Agreed. All three of these headphones have oddly bad mics built in. They are probably fine for most calls (which have bad quality anyway) but still odd.
@@FStoppers I own the Bose QC 35 II & NC700. Those were the last ones where I think the mic quality was "good enough", not excellent but good enough. I've tried the Quitecomfort Earbuds II but after a few professional calls outside I sent them back. I've tried yesterday here in Germany the new Bose Quitecomfort Headphones and I agree with you, the sound quality became indeed better and the wind noise reduction works. I'm happy for you that you don't need excellent mic quality and can enjoy these headphones as they are.
@@karolykrausz5534 When you say mic quality are you talking about the sound that someone on the other end of the phone hears or are you talking about your own voice being piped back into the headphones when you're in "transparency" mode?
@@FStoppers the other end of the phone. My clients (quite big banks) told me that, especially outside, I sounded like I was under water. Go to "CEONTHEMAKING" who did a RU-vid comparison between the Bose Ultra Headphones vs. Sony WH-1000XM5. That is an absolute no go in this price category. Ok, ok I understand that there is no perfect product but at least the product has to perform "OK" in all categories. If you're using your BOSE headphones for professional calls (the Quitecomfort & Earbuds Ultra) I would do a very thorough call test outside & inside (that is just my private advice to you). My current headphones at home: Focal Bathys My current travel headphones: Bose NC700 My current in ear headphones: Poly Voyager 5200 (my ear canals are like that of UFOs)
I’ve currently got the QC earbuds and was looking to get an over ear pair. I just wish they had a normal sound mode rather than having to be in noise cancellation or aware mode. My only gripe of them.
To be honest, I didn’t mind the tapping. It would had been best if made 2. One with and w/o tapping. Give the consumer the option like the iPhone. Small phones over big phones
Great video - bought the Ultra's as well...and they were not that comfortable, went to Best Buy and saw the QuietComfort's at $249 and picked them up. Sound is subjective, spatial/immersive audio is a bit of a gimmick and only works well on certain songs but the Ultra's don't really sound that much better than the QC's and I prefer a headphone that is actually a pleasure to wear and above all fits and is comfortable. So back the Ultras went and kept the QuietComforts
You didn't mention the issue with the bass that occurs when Bose enthusiasts turn up the volume to the highest level on the QC45. The unique deep resonant bass that Bose is known for seems to be lacking in the QC45. What about the new products?
honestly as someone who owns the qc45, I feel like I got kinda screwed over, the new QC's are literally the same exact thing as the 45s internally but now the 45s are no longer getting the updates which the QCs are? wild
my QC 35ii finally died after 6 years, I need a new pair. I already had another 35 in a basker, but then I saw this video, can't wait for comparison video!
Is it possible to get your thoughts on the noise cancelling quality between the bose earbuds ans the qc45. Clearly the over the ear headphones will always be better but is it night and day different or fractional. Trying to judge the convenience between physicaly small and large devices vs performance
I own a Samsung Galaxy S20 phone. When I receive text messages, the headphones do not alert me. Is this alert feature possible on these headphones? Also, I'm unable to activate or use Google Assistant with these headphones. Is it even possible to use Google Assistant with these? The Ultra Quiet Headphones that is.
I'm on my 3rd pair Ultra. Creaking earcups/hinges when moving my head/jaw, even when walking. It's all over on reddit, amazin reviews, etc. Absolutely awful. I still love them though and properly go for a 4th replacement.
I wish so bad the Ultras would work without power, but they won't. I have tried hooking the cable up without power, but it won't. The QuietComfort states it will without power.
One thing the QuiteComfort is lacking of... the active ambient mode, which triggers the noise cancelling as soon as a sudden, loud noise is detected, such as an ambulance is passing by. This is only available with the Ultras.
@@TinnekeVDE he means that when a loud noise happens, the headphones play it at a much lower volume. "needless" to say, this is impossible without a headset. maybe in 100 years if nano machines or some other crazy sci-fi stuff can allow it.
Do you need anything extra to listen to apples Loseless or Tidals Hifi with the C=QC Comfort or The Ultra. The Ultra sounds kind of annoying not to mention expensive. I ve had the QC35s since they came out, time to upgrade.
Immersive mode is definitely not a gimmick it works just like Spatial Audio and it is good to listen to I have it on all the time, proves these reviews are not accurate you really need to go the store and try it on.
Great comparison! I was looking into buying the Quick Comfort Ultra, but your quick comparison on this video is valuable and helpful to make a better decision. I may buy the newest Sony's headphones.
Bose, best sound and fit I definitely agree. But in terms of battery life in the long run (for me) a big disappointment. Used my Bose earbuds, everyday for commute to work, everyday for 2.5 years. Soon afterwards the battery life started to dwindle. My typical commute time was only 50 minutes +/- each way, soon after, my Buds, only lasted 40, 35, 40, 35, and 20 minutes during a commute after a 2 our charge time. Cleaned the case and all the connecters and still only 40 or less minutes per commute. Bose tech support no help at all. Got turned me off big time, I did not expect Bose to have this type of battery issue. Especially when your paying $200.00 for earbuds. Warning research the battery life and the warranty from the store and the manufacturer, before you buy Bose earbuds.
Maybe you could collaborate with Abyss Headphones and create a tutorial for the product shoot - Abyss AB-1266 Phi TC ( 💰 7,000 USD headphones from Abyss Headphones, NY ) 🤩
you need a compatible device, many devices don't stream apex adaptive or w/e variation qc ultra use. personally idc because I can't tell a difference between wireless aac, and wired alac with the ultra.
I'm on my 3rd pair Ultra. Creaking earcups/hinges when moving my head/jaw, even when walking. It's all over on reddit, amazin reviews, etc. Absolutely awful. I still love them though and properly go for a 4th replacement.
@cajunomics350 That's correct, the QuiteComfort is more comfortable than the QuiteComfort Ultra. Less clamping force and more spacious earcups. Better build quality as well.
Your ear holes are huge like we can see it from you facing forward 😂 Bigger than average you should mention this, hence why AirPods Pro is loose on you.
is the Bose QC ultra noice cancellation much better than the Quiet confort ? I REALLY CARE NOICE CANCELLATION, do you think the difference is so big that I have to buy the ultra over the normal quiet confort ? considering that I also like the other ultra extra features over the qc but not so much
Exactly that immersive audio crap is the worst "innovation" I've ever seen don't know why everyone tries to copy apple. I live music & there is a reason some masters sound far better than others for eg Billie, weeknd etc they spend so much time in perfecting the sound & instrument placement & these morons(apple, bose, Samsung) are trying to demolish that. It's totally different than mixing in dolby atmos vs artificially adding dolby atmos. 1000% agree with the assessment.
U need to change the eartip on the airpod pro. I use Azla eartip. Fit so perfect and improved SQ by something like 15-20%. Not so much but the comfort also better. And its airpod. Its better for iphone. 😊
