@@katiekatecat It is quite an impressive feat of the collective Hollow Knight community! I wonder of Team Cherry ever thought that something like this was possible 🤔
@Schrunkley evil version same, most of the time in my run was going around collecting stray items to get the last 10% completion. With the split notes it’d be so painless
@Schrunkley evil version you beat the game in under 5 hours blind? damn, it took me like 28 hours I had no idea what I was doing lol, even tho I didn't die to bosses much.
I think it's so fitting that Dream No More is the very end of this speedrun. I know it's for practical reasons, but I love that after doing literally everything in the game as fast as you can, it ends with the ending where the Knight gets to rest forever.
I fell in love with hollow knight recently, and marathoned to my first 100% playthrough. I found your channel recently and I have been binging so many of your videos, and I just want to say thank you for all of the stuff that you put out related to the game. Because of you, I've been enjoying every little discovery I'm making in the game much more. I'm so happy to see that you uploaded and I'm excited to give this a watch 😊. Thanks for making my week!
You should eventually play randomizers to actually get to know each corner of the game, stuff like relics, lore tablets and life blood doesn't count towards the 112%, so by playing randoms you might have to go where one of those items were originally to get a key item. In fact, I discovered some stuff just because of that, and others were watching fire's videos. And plus, randoms are a new challenge to the game, so it is fun as well
@@NovaJR9 getting there! Just started Grimm troupe, got my awoken dream nail and the final charms. Looking forward to seeing what else goes towards the percentage!
Now see this doesn't apply to the HK community. After all, Skurry did the even worse new Low% TE route, so there is a good change Fire does this again.
This is the real path of pain. Even though this can't be verified, it was really enjoyable to watch! I couldn't begin to imagine going through and trying to remember to do everything, let alone finding the route for it in the first place. And for an 11 hour speedrun at that. This community is amazing
Fun useless Crystal Dash glitch: If you press up to get on a bench mid-CD you will not get on but can if you press it in the same room after, teleporting to the bench. (This was done on the better switch. Also in CoF when doing the glitch you go under the bench slightly)
Not that far into the vid yet, but you mentioned having Maine Coons so I had to say something. I have two cats myself: a 22-pound, gray and white special needs Maine Coon. I've had her for nearly 11 years, and she actually chose me herself at a shelter in 2012. She's a registered ESA and is very loving and communicative. My other cat is some scrunkly little Bombay (?) creature my friends found on the side of the road almost two years ago. She's barely 8 pounds, is always yelling, will attack anything that moves, and she has absolutely zero brain cells. The contrast is...staggering. Edit: typo
the thing on cats made me laugh a little since I have 3 and somehow none of them don't beg for affection while also not hating you if you give it to them. except one of them who is hella shy though and just runs into the darkest corner of the abyss when you go near her, except me cause I'm special (bribed her with food for about 3 months straight until she liked me) the other 2 are just kinda normal. one almost had a heart attack recently and has been on medication that for some reason makes him REALLY affectionate and dumb (slightly pet him and he fell into his waterbowl because he was leaning into my hand, learned not to do that lol). normally he is just real chill but hates new people. and the last one is just REALLY friendly and also semi fat. he eats the most and tries to steal his sibling's food all the time lol. friendly and flops everywhere, me and my fam love them all
If by beat the game you mean get any ending, then I would recommend getting more optional things until you are very powerful, and then attempting the final boss. By the way, you will die, but that's fine, everyone does at first. If you mean you can't fully beat everything the game has to offer, most people can't without a lot of time and effort, so just keep trying. You can do it!
imagine a achievement run from easiest to hardest based on the percentage? like first charm achievement first, then falsehood, then test of resolve etc
I'm used to fireb0rn having sick skill but seeing that traitor lord getting demolished in like 30s when it's not even a boss he usually fights was like, what the fuck. God gamer.
Why do you need to get the dreamers and kill the hollow knight in speedrun 1? Surely it would be faster to skip them in the first one, and then beat THK and Radiance one after the other
I did this run by accident one weekend when i decided I wanted all achievements. Though it’s still sorta ongoing since I’m still stuck on pantheon 5 so… I guess i won’t have a very good time
I have always thought that intentionally patching some speedrun strat is one of the pettiest and wrongest shit a dev can do. Speedrunning is still really niche, even with the growth it has had, some people watch it, but not many actually try. So if you are going to patch things to annoy 1000 people out of the potentially dozen of thousands who played your game. Yeah, that seems kind of shitty to me. And don't come to me with the "it does not align with their vision of the game" bullshit, again, it is less than 1000 people speedrunning any game at any given moment.
but its impossible to do all of these in 1 run.............you either kill nailsmith or let him live you cant do both edit:ok you do 2 runs that makes sence
It probably won't matter because in the runs you need to go down to abyss to get shriek you either need claw for other things earlier or you need the percentage that claw gives. Useful for randomizers though.
Wait so why do you do MORE of the achievements on Steel Soul? Like why not do the fast run on steel soul and then the more extensive one on regular mode?
yep, some achievement force you to have at least 2 different run like GP Zote or Killing Zote, Killing Nailsmith or Couple Achievement, (maybe Banishing Grimm troupe or NKG but you can kill NKG in Pantheon anyway)
