I just love the fact that Bel’Veth just slaps everything. She could emit some void energy but no, she believes in Slap supremacy.

It feels weird that they chose her to be an attack speed stacking autoattacker. Her cinematic and model suggest that it's a slow type of character.

I like how they were concerned about Udyr's reworked phoenix attacks being too wide and adding this monstrosity as an exception.

Bel’veth in lore: powerful void empress capable of controlling void spawn and corrupting a whole city. Bel’veth gameplay: goofy manta ray slapping around like a mindless creature.

I really would've liked to see her have been designed as a specialist, focused around her minion wave stealing. Then she could have had some other map pressure and control tools to win through pressure, domination, and tactics, rather than being another skirmisher who goes in and 1v5s and wins through brute force and vamp. Like we've got Yone, Lillia, Viego, Gwen from the past 2 years, and now Bel'Veth as well. Idk I think her being another one of those kinds of champion sorta gimped her potential.

the sound that happens when she consumes a body is very satisfying

I like how she's permentantly transformed from a lady to monster. I would've thought the monster form was on a timer.

It looks like her model changes with takedowns - in some clips she's quite navy and small, and in others she's much bigger with lots of gold and purple. I probably won't play her because I suck ass at melee champs but she for sure looks like a ton of fun.

Seems like Bel'Veth is going to be very versatile in terms of builds and roles to play :). Also she slaps a lot.

I both play and read LoL lores, and I'm so hyped to read her story and hear her interactions with other related champions in the game! The interactions and the small conversations between champions always gets me going in League

Type "original Galio" into RU-vid and watch his spotlight it feels a lot like bel' veth the way his wings look when he autos

Skills that I identified: Evolve - She gain stats and evolve as she level or consume dead champions (she changes her visual throughout the game, like kayle), this must be related to her AA changing later and the voidlings that she summons. Consume - Absorb a dead champion, dealing damage to everyone around to gain stats and evolve Dash - 4 marks like Urgot, that makes her dash in that direction dealing damage. Knockup - Red Kayn W vibes Drain thing - She got a skill that resembles Fiddle`s W Sorry any spelling mistakes :D

She seems to have some interesting abilities, but her kit just basically rounds up to something like Irelia and Viego. She just right clicks you to death, while having infinite mobility

I cracked Bel Veth. She consumes after death the most dominant stat of the enemy. On Olaf is attack Speed, on Sion it's Health, on Veigar it's AP, on Irelia it's AD , on an adc it's crit etc. That's why she is a melee champion that can also build everything. She adapts her build and runes according to the enemy team. Edit: Her evolution theme fits with the Void champion pool. Kha'zix evolves one of his basic abilities depending on what he needs, Kai'sa evolves all her abilities through item stats, Cho' Gath grows and stacks stats through devouring alive matter (enemies, neautral monsters ect) and Kassadin through hyperscailling of his ratios and R). Rek'sai terraforms/evolves the map with her tunnels and controls it through her tremor sense. Kog'Maw can adapt and similarly go ADC and AP artilery. Vel'Koz has true damage dps "disintegration" passive which makes him the only artilery mage in the game that can build classic burst artilery and melt tanks (a type of adaptiveness). Malzahar has an army of void minions that attack and siege and he is made to disrupt, poke and lockdown. Malz and kass are definitely the most random when it comes to adaptiveness but it kinda fits with their theme of being humans that have evolved powers from the void itself (Kai'Sa does not count because she is united with a symbiot from the void so she is also half void monster).

Bel'Veth is like some Epic skins. You look at the art and you are like "Wow this look so good", then you see the ingame model and you get blue balled.

I love her in the cinematic trailer, I love her in game look, and I love her kit, but I don't like the way these 3 elements blend. The way her character is presented I woulda hoped for a kit similar to like, fiddlesticks for the horror part, or azir since she's a self proclaimed empress, or swain since she's presented both in lore and in the thematic as cold and calculating, but this kit is more similar to gwen than any other champion and it's just the most disjointed thing I've ever seen? Cold calculating empress lends itself so so so much better to a control mage or minion type champion thematically than a weird longer melee range auto attacker with high skirmishing potential

Not sure if anyone pointed out but, in the last clip, even the voidlings that she spawns from minion kills get the Baron buff, likely any mid-lategame fight with Bel'Veth alive means at least 2 turrets will die from base

From the looks of it she evolves from sexy lady to full on floating stingray monster and just slaps people for damage. Probably AD but gives off the AP vibe and is a jungler and this sort of "absorbing" after killing feels like a mix between viegos passive and kindreds passive

God I LOVE the sounds she makes but especially the one when she eats one of their corpse💀 also that little fish army is both terrifying and adorable lol

From what I understand, it seems that her dashing mechanic is similar to Urgot's shotgun knees where each direction has an independent cooldown. Notice how the quadrant of her special gauge is consumed when she dashes in that direction. Interesting design.

Riot: "She got a skillshot an attack steroid and a lot of dashes!" How original Riot:"Oh she also gets a ton of health/healing" Daring today, aren't we?

So looks like her knock up resets her dash ability if thrown in its direction, her aoe looks to deal true damage and only target 1 enemy, is also a on-hit ability, as you can see it applies the BORK passive, in her evolved form, killed minions turn into voidlings

i like that they gave her a special high attack speed animation since they made her to attack fast

i thought she was supposed to be terrifying but she looks like a comedy parody of herself she just slaps with her wings? the void empress? really? couldnt she have... idk, spawned void tentacles like baron nashor? thrust like cho? bite like rek sai? close range zap? use her tail? spin around like kokomi from genshin? anything? she just....... slappy slap and stabby stab everything else is awesome is just her autos feel so out of character

I'm gonna be honest I can't wait for the infinitely stacking true damage and attack speed. Just a wonderful idea

I don't know. I might be the only one, but... something about this design feels really off to me. Her base movement is really fluid, slow, almost methodical, yet when she autos she just pokes and slaps... although I like it because it shows her savage nature, it just feels really off with her animations. That and the summoning aspect of the champion feels like a afterthought. I was really expecting like an "aircraft carrier" type summoner who commands swarms of enemies, needs to plan, etc. Final note: does no one remember the toxic gameplay aspects of tank ekko in season 6? I.e. low cd dash with frostfire, he would just stick on you and you can't get away? This champions q is literally that without being gated by an item...

She is the reincarnation of the Zz'rot portal, I'm in love 😭 she also seems to evolve, or get a boost on kill, which involves a circular explosion. Interesting.

when i see all of the cinematics and I see this I feel so disconnected with Bel Veth. She is corruption but shes aatrox with a mix of kayn and neeko which is fine for a champ from the void but IF she is the corruption of the void, I feel she should have been a physical control mage that has low mobility but can summon minions in an large area or something. This would explain the pirannas the reason velkoz is afraid and such. It just feels a bit off. Then again this is just my opinion.

Feel like Im the only one feeling disconnected. Thematically she's this giant self proclaimed empress that scares the shit out of Kai'sa. In game she just dashes and slaps repeatedly? I get she's a void being, but the theme and the gameplay just feel very different.

That fast attack speed animation makes me think of her screaming "ATATATATATATATATATA" while doing it. Fin of the Lavender Star style.

reminds me of the alient bat from Dead Space that revives corpses into alien monsters. the stabbing motion it does with both hands is almost exactly like those creatures. freaky

A thing that I found in these clips is that when she 'consumes' an enemy champion, she receives a permanent buff (more like old Nunu's Q). In the Bel'Veth vs Olaf clip, look at the difference between her Attack Speed before and after she consumed Olaf.

She kinda reminds me of Kayle, whenever she consumes someone it looks like it empowers her permanently by either giving her more stronger auto attacks and faster attack speed. So they might be going for a hyper carry style but with lots of mobility. She looks pretty cool so far.

Some new champions are high on mobility so we gotta adapt some of the older ones to fit or counter that playstyle.... gives 4 dashes on low cooldown yeeeeeeeh the meta is here

i just noticed how when she dashes in a direction, the arow pointing in that direction disapears :O

I'm guessing with every "possesion" after big monster takedown or kill she will gain some kind of stacks

For those who think she isn't mind-controlling/has a swarm of voidlings, check the enemy minion deaths at 3:25 seems like she spawns in a voidling when they die.

I wonder how effects like grasp are gonna be shown on her model, just having glowing spots on her wings seems kinda funny.

That Attack Speed is insane ufff

This might be the most divided the community has been on a champion release in a while. I think for the majority of champion releases you could probably determine whether the community generally liked them or not, but for bel'veth i've seen so much praise and yet so much criticism across the board. People like the monster aspect, but they hate the humanoid appeal. People love the ora ora, but they hate the copious dashing. People love the sound design, but they hate the animations. The list goes on.

I hope these clips are from an old version. All this hype for her in game model to look like *that* compared to the stuff we've seen of other characters recently would be really sad.

I love how big she is, Ive wanted a huge champ for so long especially considering the size of someone like galio who in the lore is big af and in game is so tiny.

Her model posing upright and her funky attack animation is what gets me the most. Was kinda expecting a more manta ray-esque model, and her model looks like it can't take too high of an attack speed before it starts janking... Hmm, idk man

The 5 abilities I could identify are: (1) the 4 dashes she has that remind me of urgot’s passive (2) the short range ground smash ability that knocks up enemies. Reminds me of velkoz’s w! (3) the ground pokey ability that reminds me of katarina’s ult! She seems to be untargettable during this state (4) the void fishies from monster/minion kills which I think are a passive she gains after enough kills 🐟 insteresting because when the minions are killed it spawns 2 different types of fish: one like a castor minion and another like the melee/knight minion (5) another passive similar to viego where after she kills or assists someone, the body is left behind for her to consume. It’s different though because she looks like she permanently consumes them and gains their highest stat permanently for the duration of the whole game. Side note: I really love her slapping mechanic lol

Hmm so unsure what her ult is but: she gains stacking hp from "passive"? things. if there are multiple of those "passives"? and she picks one up the others disappear, however if someone is killed after picking one up she can use 2 in a fight. she seems to look different sometimes? (doesn't appear to be linked to lvl) the 4 dashes seem to be directional so can't do 4 same direction, however can use 2 in "similar" directions. she doesn't have mana, picking up the "passives"? and using skills generate her uh "rage bar"? unsure what the "rage bar" is but I'm guessing it empowers her autos since autos seem to consume it. she got bigger when she summoned herald? the void spawn things seem to appear from minions dying? and can be empowered with baron buff from the attack speed build and the GA buy I'm guessing she's ad? likely to be hybrid though. I guarantee I missed things, all in all looks interesting.

I had been asking for aquatic void creature for a long time, when I saw that Bel'veth was going to be a Manta, I wonder if Riot was a listening to me or if it was coincidence. Don't get me wrong I like the champion design I was expecting water abilities. But it is ok maybe next time.

Clearly a support champion, it also looks like as she either levels or does the exploding corse thing she evolves and gains a passive ability, he first one being the super fact slap and the other being turning dead minions into fish.

I noticed that her minions' presence are related to belveth having herald or baron, and in the last clip, all the ally minions turned into belveths minions
