Batman: The Animated Series will always be one of the best depictions of Batman, the series is near flawless and it gave us Batman Mask of the Phantasm, one of best Batman movies ever along with, in my view the best/joint best Joker story ever

That episode of Batman: The Animated Series "Beware the Grey Ghost" was really awesome having Adam West playing Bruce's hero the Grey Ghost. You really got to see a side to Bruce that was that of the little boy that was also lost the night Thomas and Martha were killed when he talked about how him and his dad used to watch his show when he was a kid. And then it was really awesome getting to see Bruce working with his hero. Amazing.

I’m surprised to see “The Batman” so high. Not complaining I personally loved the unique takes on characters and even more gadget oriented Batman. I always just figured it was widely regarded as a lesser adaptation because of its orientation towards a toy line.

Batman Beyond takes place in 2039, NOT 2019.The prologue however, takes place in 2018.

It's funny I own the DVDs for every season of Batman the Animated Series and I've had it for years watching it as a kid

Brave and the Bold is underrated. They dug in the crates or back issue bins with many of the characters they used.

The Animated Series profoundly affected my childhood; decades later and now being completely blind for the roughly past 6 years, I still laugh when I listen to Almost Got 'Im and I cry every time in Mudslide ... there are other few good episodes as well that I remember like I saw it yesterday

Batman TAS was shown on Friday nights here in the philippines in the 90's. So, yeah, you can really feel his nocturnal adventures.

BTAS is my all time favorite cartoon, and my all time favourite version of Batman. I do however think the 1968 show should be higher, and definitely above the 1977 show.

Batman The Animated Series will always be the best and most nostalgic for me. It's the one that made Batman for me. There will never be another Kevin Conroy Batman nor a Mark Hamill Joker.

One 23 minute episode containes two stories, one longer, and the other short. The point of The 1968 was to continue the tone of the 1966 show, focusing on the same core villains and style of the 1966 show, and they managed to deliver that. I love Robin in the very first episode after and over-the-top scene saying: Oh this is ridiculous. This cartoon knows exactly what is and isn't trying to be anything else, it's embracing the tone of the 1966 show and if you like the 1966, this cartoon is well worth watching. The writing is NOT bad, it may be a bit basic, but it has many brilliant moments. After re-watching it this year, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. The strength of the 1968 cartoon is the humor, successful and respectful homage to the 1966 show and the music, which is so much better than the music in the rather poor 1977 show. Batman and Robin sound so similar to how they sounded in the 1966; obviously done intentionally. The narration is also in the style of The 1966 show. The 1968 show is firmly based on the latter half of the silver age Batman (1965-mid 70's), the 1966 show; and it's core villains. The 1977 show is based on the first part of the Silver age (mid 50's - 1964); "monsters and aliens Batman", and not the bronze age, making it feel dated. The 1968 is not dated. If it is, than so is the 1966 show. We will never get shows like these 2 ever again, so I embrace this cartoon for being an absolute guilty pleasure. I still prefer BTAS, but that's a subject for another time.

Say what you will about Filmation, and you did, I still remember being a comic book fan (in the '60s) who really appreciated the early animated shows. In the desert you're grateful for whatever water you can get, I guess. As always thank you so very much for the video. Beware the Batman being that low feels wrong to me. And I would've swapped The Batman and Brave and the Bold's places. The Batman was fine, but BatB was special.

Well, BTAS defined what Batman truly is and should be depicted as, so that’s clearly the winner. Thanks to it, we got the Arkham games and The Batman movie

The Batman 2nd ? I'd put it behind the Brave and the bolt, maybe even behind Beware the Batman (I'd have to see it again to be sure). The Batman is a little too safe for my taste. No dark themes. Too many wasted villains for my taste. Bane is just a muscle for hire, The Penguin goes from genius criminal intellectual to kung fu-talented moron, Mr Freeze is just a bank robber who had an accident, and while the Quizzmaster isn't super interesting in the comics, good God, he didn't deserve this treatment... This series is sometimes good when it takes risks, or does something new, but it's rare. Right now, I only remember the Riddler flashback episode, and Ragdoll, which although classic, had the advantage of original animation.

I forgot how old I was but back in 2008 Batman the brave and the bold was one of my favorite Batman shows 10 out of 10 5 stars as well as beware of the Batman I loved 3D animation

Wait didn't The Batman have 5 seasons? Batgirl was introduced in season 3, Robin in season 4, and most of season 5 was team-ups with other heroes as I recall. Honestly in my opinion The Batman season 3 and 4 was so peak! There was also that The Batman vs Dracula movie set between season 2 and 3 right? Honestly I thought season 5 of The Batman had a lot of flaws though... For one Batgirl was hardly in it and they gave too much importance to other heroes appearing like it was Brave and the Bold or something. Don't get me wrong music in Brave and the Bold was great and the show made me laugh a lot but honestly not what I look for in Batman so much as in things like Phineas and Ferb where that is more appropriate.

I'm sorry, but people who hate on beware the batman most likely never watched the whole thing. The league of assassins arc and lore with the soul taker sword is one of the best iterations I've ever seen, and the relationships between barman and other characters like alfred, gordan etc are nuanced and written beautifully.

Ok now I want to get back into The Batman

I love the 1968-1969 show. Much better than the 1977 show, with all those new but uninteresting new villains, aliens oh and the annoying Bat-Mite, plus the used many of the same animation cells from the 1968 show. The 1966 show is an obvious inspiration. I still prefer a darker Batman and Batman the Animated series is obviously considered the gold standard, as it should be. But the 1968-1969 show is also good in its own right. Even Paul Dini enjoys it. He used yo work at Filmation in the 80's. You also need to consider the time it was made and the limitations that today are a distant memory. It's the first Batman TV show. It may not be the best thing you've seen, but it has it's charm, plus, together with the 1966 show, it's historically important.

completely disagree with the last placed assessment of TAOB 1968. sure, it was cheaply animated but that was a sign of the times. If Filmation had had the budget of Warner Brothers' BTAS there would be shock waves to this day, but they didn't. they were on a shoestring budget but didn't keep them from producing, with all the care they could, a warmly regarded version of Batman and Robin from that era. Voice acting, musical soundtrack, and pacing Plus an explosion of color were the strengths of Batman 1968. I feel that the nostalgia aspect alone not withstanding the iconic images of Batman and Robin behind the wheel of probably the Slickest Batmobile Ever, should give you pause before you drive your audience away from this production, which is by No Way as bad as you say

I could not get into The Batman. One thing I hate was that they rewrote some villain origins. The one I hate the most was Mr. Freeze. In Paul Dini Batman they gave Mr. Freeze a tragic backstory. On he became a Mr. freeze and why he commits crime, which is to save his wife Nora. As an audience you know that the crime he commits isn't right but you understand why he does them. Even Batman himself understand that Mr . Freeze is just trying to save is wife. in the The Batman he's just common thief with a "cool" look. To me the look was created yo just sell toys

Awful as anything Screenrant does. The big mistake is placing The Batman at #2. It is an insult to Batman Beyond, but it didn't add much to the public perception of Batman and had some horrible episodes that were not redeemed by style or voice talent. It would be correctly placed before The Brave and the Bold. Which added much needed perspective on the richness of the character. The Batman basically wrapped up, B&B could have gone for a couple more seasons, digging deeper into classic DC

TNBA is hardcore trash, and everyone should rewatch them to realize how far the show fell - as bad as the original cartoons homies
